Chapter 425: Chapter 409: Clash of Casters

"It’s Tula!"

Galvis weakly patted Roland’s shoulder, his voice urgent.

"Go... now..."

Roland didn’t need to be told. He could already clearly feel the immense and powerful pressure.

He made an instant decision and ordered Philis,

"Lead the way!"

At the same time, he bent down without hesitation and lifted the weakened Minstrel onto his back.

"Roland... put me down..."

Galvis’s voice was as thin as a thread, tinged with a plea.

"I’m done for... Don’t let me drag you down..."

Roland held his dear friend securely on his back, his voice leaving no room for argument.

"Galvis, listen to me. Even if you’re going to die, you’re going to die where I can see you."

With that, he took firm strides to follow Philis, who was ahead of them.

They quickly passed through a short corridor and stepped onto a spiral staircase.

Just as they rushed out of the High Tower’s main gate, the sight before them made Roland’s breath catch in his throat.

Dawn was approaching, and the horizon should have been turning pale white, dispelling the gloom of the long night.

But now, the entire sky was veiled by a massive, translucent, pale blue film.

This membrane of light was like an enormous inverted bowl, completely covering the entire Eternal Song Forest and its surrounding area.

Visible Magic Energy flowed across its surface, causing the light that filtered through to become distorted and strange.

What weighed even more heavily on Roland’s heart was the distinct, invisible pressure pressing down on him.

The Power within his body instantly grew sluggish, and his Agility was greatly reduced, as if he were trapped in an unseen mire.

"This is..."

Roland stared at the abnormal sky.

Galvis’s weak but certain voice came from behind him.

"A Fourth Ring Spell... Celestial Vault Barrier. He... he can actually cast a Barrier of this rank..."

’A Fourth Ring Spell...’

Hearing this assessment, Roland’s heart sank.

He immediately snapped Philis, who stood beside him, equally stunned by the Barrier, out of her daze.

"Don’t stop! Keep moving!"

To avoid the chaos of the main battlefield, Philis chose a roundabout path along the edge of the settlement.

Yet even from this relatively remote position, Roland could still clearly perceive the source of that terrifying pressure.

It was the Surface Elf Elder Council.

Not long ago, when he had passed by, the Zor Elf vanguard had already surrounded the Elder Council like a tide.

The battle then had been completely one-sided. The Surface Elves’ defensive line was crumbling under the ferocious attacks and cunning Spells of the Zor Elves, on the verge of being completely overrun.

But now, the situation had taken a horrifying turn.

Roland’s gaze was involuntarily drawn to the distant scene.

Above the Elder Council, a solitary, proud figure stood suspended in mid-air.

It was a figure dressed in magnificent elven robes. His pale face was exceptionally clear under the Barrier’s glow, and his elegant posture exuded a disquieting majesty.

The fluctuations of Magic flowing around his body were so intense that even from such a great distance, Roland felt a stinging sensation on his skin.

’Is that... Tula?’

Although he had never seen him before, such immense power, combined with Galvis’s earlier description, allowed Roland to immediately make his judgment.

As if to confirm his guess, the figure raised his hand and pointed toward the densest group of Zor Elf Warriors below.

There was no Spell Chanting, no glow of Magic. The next moment...

A squad of elite Zor Elf Warriors, along with the Magic Shields coalesced around them, were seemingly crushed by a giant, invisible hand.

Accompanied by the nauseating sound of cracking bones and the grating shriek of twisting metal, they were crushed like dolls, instantly reduced to a blurry mass of flesh and metal.

Immediately after, Tula waved his hand, and a visible ripple—a Force Field Wave—swept across the battlefield like a scythe.

Dozens of Zor Elves who were attempting to Charge were snapped like straw in a gale. Their bodies folded at bizarre angles and tore apart, flinging severed limbs and viscera everywhere, leaving a shocking, fan-shaped vacuum in their wake!

The Zor Elves’ once-overwhelming offensive instantly crumbled under the pressure of this inhuman power. ℯℯ𝑙.

The survivors retreated in terror, their formation collapsing into chaos, their faces filled with the despair of facing a natural disaster.

Witnessing this devastating scene, even a battle-hardened veteran like Roland felt a chill run down his spine.

The power Tula displayed had already surpassed the realm of an ordinary Transcendent.

Philis’s face was even paler, and her body trembled uncontrollably.

"Go!"

Roland barked, forcefully suppressing the shock in his heart and quickening his pace.

Just then, the distant battle took another sudden turn.

Tula seemed to have lost his patience.

He raised his hand again, and a heart-stopping Magic Energy began to gather in the air.

A Force Field Wave, more concentrated and deadlier than the last, began to form in front of his palm, about to sweep toward the routed Zor Elves.

However, just as that destructive Energy was about to be unleashed...

A deep, viscous Darkness, thick as ink, appeared out of thin air in front of the Zor Elf lines without any warning.

This was not a simple Shadow; it squirmed as if it were alive, forming a constantly rotating vortex of Shadow.

Tula’s sharp Force Field Wave crashed into this Darkness and vanished without a trace.

It merely stirred a few silent ripples of Energy before being completely devoured and dissipated by the profound Darkness, producing none of its intended destructive effect.

This sudden, precise, and efficient spell counter caused the airborne Tula to pause for a moment.

Then, from behind the not-yet-dissipated Shadow barrier, a slightly hunched yet exceptionally steady figure, leaning on a crooked Wooden Staff, slowly walked to the very front of the routed Zor Elf lines, alone, to face the deity-like figure in the sky.
