Chapter 296 - Love Heals
Chapter 296 – Love Heals
-UNEDITED-
Cain stopped, and his eyes lit up as he stared at Kimmy. Did she just say that she would introduce him formally to the whole family over breakfast?
"What?" Kimmy asked, slightly blushing with the way Cain was looking at her.
"Are you sure? I mean, you will really introduce me to the whole family?" Cain asked in disbelief.
"Haha. What's with your reaction? It's not like it's the first time you will meet them," Kimmy said with a teasing smile.
"Yeah, but… it's the first time I will face them as your boyfriend. I'm nervous," Cain murmured, and he meant that.
Kimmy chuckled and kissed the tip of his nose, and she said, "Think of it as just a usual breakfast with the family, okay, like you used to do before. Release me now and pull it out. We should get ready and not be late for breakfast."
Cain had a sheepish grin as he gently pulled his hard length out of Kimmy's core. He was still hard, and to be honest, he wanted more, but he should stop and get ready. He let Kimmy have another quick rinse then watched her leave the bathroom in a hurry.
"Make it fast, okay. I will go first to mom's room," Kimmy said before she closed the door of the bathroom.
"Noted, my Princess!" Cain answered with a very enthusiastic and excited voice. He immediately took a shower, and he even whistled a song inside the bathroom.
On the other hand, Kimmy left the room as soon as she got dressed. She headed directly to her mother's room. It was still early, so she was sure her mother was still inside her room.
Kimmy pressed the doorbell, and as she expected, her mother just woke up.
"The sun is already up, mom!" Kimmy said with a smile and gave her mother a big tight hug while she whispered, "good morning!"
Leila creased her forehead. She noticed that Kimmy seemed cheerful than usual, and she controlled herself from teasing her. She reminded herself to wait patiently for Kimmy to spill the beans. She did not want to jinx Kimmy's good relationship with Cain by causing too much commotion in front of her daughter.
"Hmm, you look so happy, dear," Leila commented.
"I have good news, mom, but I bet you already know about it," Kimmy said with a smile while she pulled her mother to sit on the couch with her.
"Oh, what is it?" Leila naively asked.
Kimmy gave her mother a suspicious look as she mumbled, "Are you sure you don't know about it yet, mom?"
Leila shrugged her shoulders as a sign of giving up since she was not good at feigning ignorance.
"Fine, I saw about it last night… The trending photos and videos of you and Cain at the theme park." Leila murmured.
"Photos and videos?" Kimmy mumbled. She was not aware of it yet.
"You did not know? You went out into a public place, so you should expect something like this. Wait… Did you think I put a tail on you?" Leila burst in disbelief.
Kimmy gave her mother an awkward smile since she was guilty of thinking that way. Knowing her mother, she would not be surprised that her mother hired someone to monitor her secretly.
"Goodness, Kimmy. Why would I do that? Didn't you know how I have been controlling myself since you returned home? I don't want you to run away, so I loosened my hold on you so you won't feel suffocated. Like I said, I will no longer meddle in your private affairs, dear." Leila said with a pout.
Kimmy smiled and grabbed her mother's hand. She gently squeezed it as she said, "Sorry, mom. Please stop pouting. I'm sure you will like what I will tell you now. It's about Cain and me. You see, we are now official. I mean, he's my official boyfriend now."
"Oh! That's great news, dear! Finally!!!" Leila burst and hugged Kimmy cheerfully.
"I will introduce him to the family at breakfast, too," Kimmy said with a blushing face. Leila touched her daughter's cheek and said, "That's good, dear. They will be happy to hear the news for sure. Ah, let me get changed first. It's almost time for breakfast."
Kimmy nodded, and she watched her mother ready herself. After some time, her mother left the bathroom, already dressed.
"I will just put on some makeup, and then we'll go," Leila said with a smile as she excitedly sat on the chair in front of her vanity mirror.
She sighed while watching her mother brush her hair in front of the vanity mirror. She stood up and said, "Let me, mom."
She grabbed the hairbrush and helped her mother in fixing her hair.
"Mom, last night, I saw you with uncle Sean at the courtyard, and you seem depressed. I wanted to approach you and ask what is happening, but I decided not to, thinking it would be best to ask you now. Is that about dad?" Kimmy straightforwardly asked.
Leila sighed deeply and stared at Kimmy's reflection for a long time before she said, "Edward's mistress is pregnant, Kimmy. Last night, I thought about things thoroughly. You are right. It's time I should let your father go."
Kimmy clenched her jaw, but she tried her best to control her emotion so her mother would not worry. How dare her father do this. Was having his mistress not enough, and now he even impregnated the woman? She was so mad, but she forced a smile on her face as she whispered, "Yes, mom. It's time for you to free yourself from all the pain and heartache. You can only do it if you let him go because the more you hold onto him, the more pain you will have to endure."
Kimmy hugged her mother, wrapping her arms around her neck as she gently brushed and rubbed her arm, giving her comfort in that simple gesture.
"You have done enough, mom. I will always be here for you. You might lose him forever, but you still have me mom…" Kimmy said with a loving smile as she stared at her mother.
Leila could no longer control her emotion as tears fell from her eyes.
"Gosh, this should be a happy day since my daughter finally accepted the man I picked up for her! Ah, I'm sorry dear that I have to spoil this happy day." Leila commented with a chuckle as she quickly wiped the tears flowing out of her eyes.
Kimmy moved to sit beside her mother. She grabbed a tissue and helped her mother wipe her tears away.
With a pout, Kimmy commented, "Ah, I hope this will be the last time I will see you cry because of him. I know that he's my father, but honestly… he is not worthy of your tears, mom."
"Well, it's easier said than done, my dear. But don't worry, as long as you are here beside me, I'm sure I can do it. Time will heal all wounds…" Leila said with a smile.
"Hmmm, love will heal all wounds, mom. You're still young so try to open up your heart for that possibility after you settle everything with dad." Kimmy said with a teasing smile.
Leila looked at Kimmy with a furrowed forehead and asked, "Why do you sound suspicious?"
"Well, I saw you and uncle Sean hugging. You two look good together, mom," Kimmy said with a grin.
Leila's eyes widened as she burst, "Stop that, Kimmy!"
Kimmy laughed, seeing the expression on her mother's face.
"Alright, fine. I will not tease you yet… But maybe someday I will, mom!" Kimmy added with a grin.
"That's not funny, Kimmy! OMG, don't you dare do that or say anything embarrassing in front of your uncle, Sean!" Leila horrifically said.
"Mom! You're blushing!" Kimmy added. She could not help it. It was fun teasing her mother, especially now.
Leila touched her face and even looked at the mirror. She turned at Kimmy and mumbled, "Are you that happy, huh? That you're enjoying teasing me like this?"
Kimmy grinned and said, "Yeah, I'm happy that you finally decided to set yourself free, mom."
Kimmy pounced at her mother and hugged her tightly as she added, "I love you, mom, and I really really want to see you happy because you deserve it. Dad does not deserve your love.. It's okay to let him go now because sometimes real love means saying goodbye."
