Chapter 2153 - 2138: Military Merits

Chapter 2153: Chapter 2138: Military Merits

Looking at the swiftly departing Commander Level Spirit Boat, Corps Leader Yue Dai of the Demon Clan Vanguard Legion ultimately did not give the order to regroup and pursue.

At that moment when he almost got killed, he was already scared.

What’s more deadly is that in less than two hours, he suffered three consecutive major defeats.

This instinctively made him fearful—could there be a fourth?

Moreover, in just over an hour, he already formed a basic judgment of Ye Zhen, the Commander of the Heavenly Wave Army of North Sea.

Maneuvering troops like a deity, cunning as a fox, with extraordinary people under his command and the strong ability to kill Dao Realm experts within a short time.

It’s important to know that Dao Realm experts are the top combat power on the Human Demon Battlefield.

In most cases, it’s extremely difficult to kill a Dao Realm expert, whether it’s a Demon Clan or Human Clan.

Even if three or five Dao Realm experts besiege one, it’s easy to severely injure them, but killing them is very difficult.

When Dao Realm experts fight desperately, their chance of escaping is quite high.

But here with Ye Zhen, in just a few dozen breaths, he killed six Dao Realm Demon Lords under his command and severely injured four others, and even he almost perished.

This is definitely an astonishing achievement.

It can be said that even the Northern War Zone doesn’t have such a strong killing speed of Dao Realm.

Therefore, Yue Dai was somewhat afraid from the bottom of his heart.

He could not endure a fourth failure anymore.

Besides, under the current situation, even catching up, he wouldn’t know how to attack.

Because the elite under his command suffered extremely heavy casualties.

Including himself, out of fifteen Dao Realms, six were killed on the spot, with four being blasted by the Sky-Breaking Dragon-Slaying Crossbow Bolt, but two were instantly slain by Ye Zhen’s experts.

Over two hundred elite Realm King Realm were blasted sixty, and the remaining ones were all injured, with half in severe condition.

Four thousand elite Dark Palace Realms were blasted on the spot, totaling one thousand five hundred, and the remaining ones were mostly injured, with half seriously wounded.

It could be said, that the combat power of his elite troops was more than half gone.

Even if they really caught up, it would be futile.

Although Yue Dai at this moment wished he could tear Ye Zhen to pieces, the current circumstances left Yue Dai no choice.

At the same time, Ye Zhen, who was departing in the Commander Level Spirit Boat, looked at the remaining Demon Clan elite with full regret.

Insufficient strength.

Insufficient personal strength of the soldiers.

The six thousand elite Heavenly Wave Army of North Sea that Ye Zhen brought out only had three thousand soldiers with Divine Communication Realm cultivation, which made Ye Zhen reluctant to lead them to confront directly.

Though saying that mercy doesn’t command soldiers, Ye Zhen, in this way, was too reluctant to sacrifice soldiers’ lives.

However, the nature of the millennial war was different, it was a meat-grinding, long-term war.

If they started with a bloody battle, this millennial war might soon deplete the Heavenly Wave Army of North Sea.

Therefore, Ye Zhen is now trying every possible way to preserve strength.

If Ye Zhen had a batch of three thousand elite Dark Palace Realms, he would have had confidence in killing over eighty percent of this Demon Clan elite while seizing the opportunity.

Moreover, the equipment level under Ye Zhen was too low.

Ye Zhen’s Heavenly Wave Army of North Sea was fully equipped with two hundred ninety Sky-Breaking Dragon-Slaying Crossbows, counting the hundred given by Ren Venerate Emperor Ji Long earlier, Ye Zhen borrowed one hundred thirty from Zhengyao Two Realm City under the guise of Ji Guan.

Plus previously obtained by Ye Zhen through various means, Ye Zhen had more than three hundred Sky-Breaking Dragon-Slaying Crossbows, and right now, all were in Ye Zhen’s hands.

The number was still too few, if there were two or three hundred more, at least four or five more Dao Realms and dozens of Realm King Realm experts could be blasted.

The number of Flame Spirit Burst Demon Crossbows was also too few.

The number of Commander Level Spirit Boats was insufficient as well.

Although Soldier-grade Spirit Boats could greatly improve troop transportation speed, they were inadequate when facing attacks from elite enemies.

If Ye Zhen had a few more Commander Level Spirit Boats capable of rivaling Dao Realm experts in speed, he would bring more than five thousand soldiers to participate in ambush, perhaps fifteen thousand, or even more.

In such a scenario, the casualties of Yue Dai’s elite troops would increase significantly.

With a few more Commander Level Spirit Boats, Ye Zhen’s surprise troops’ mobility would be greatly enhanced and handle more easily.

Even, there was a shortage of consumable military equipment, especially the crossbow bolts.

Three surprise attacks consumed more than one million two hundred thousand crossbow bolts, although compared to the near two billion reserved by the Heavenly Wave Army of North Sea, it was still small, yet the real battle hadn’t begun.

Once the Demon Clan’s army besieges the city, in a single breath, possibly millions of crossbow bolts would be blasted.

Therefore, now the situation is that Ye Zhen is lacking everything, nothing is sufficient, especially when facing the Demon Clan’s million-strong army.

"Grand Marshal, where are we heading next?" Commander Zheng Dangshi asked excitedly, as the continuous three victories greatly stimulated the nerves and confidence of officers and soldiers, making them eager for more!

"To join up with the main force!"

"Not continuing?" Zheng Dangshi seemed disappointed, "Grand Marshal, the brothers’ battle intent is very strong!"

"Do you really think the Demon Clan is a soft persimmon? Can be squeezed at will!"

"Today’s three surprise attacks were unexpected, based on their ignorance of our strength. Going again would be stepping into the tiger’s mouth, act according to the plan!" Zheng Dangshi, being a key trained commander by Ye Zhen, Ye Zhen was very patient!

"Yes, I follow orders!"

"Report to Grand Marshal, the battle results have been compiled!" The military judge all in black stepped forward with a stack of jade scrolls.

"Speak!"

"Report to Grand Marshal, in this battle, we killed sixteen thousand one hundred ordinary Demon Clan soldiers, over two thousand Dark Palace Realm, over one hundred eighty Realm King Realm, six Dao Realms.

Among them, gathered over seventy thousand heads, four Dao Realm Demon Lord heads, ninety Realm King Realm heads, eight hundred Dark Palace Realm Demon Clan heads."

"Are the Military Merit Jade Slips ready?"

"Reply to Grand Marshal, all are recorded with multi-angle Shadow Capture Jade Slips, no issue at all!" The military judge’s voice was loud.

Victory!

No matter where such battle achievements are placed, it’s a major victory!

"Grand Marshal, the Shadow Capture Jade Slips used are all custom-made by our Military Law Division, even if the Military Merit Division is picky, it can’t find any fault, all these military merits can be confirmed!" The military judge was very serious.

Great Zhou’s military merit certification system is divided into two types.

One is solid Demon Clan heads, which is untouchable iron hat military merit.

Where the heads are, the military merits are!

The other is the Military Merit Jade Slip recorded by accompanying military judges using custom-made Shadow Capture Jade Slips.

During grand army battles, the situation is extremely intense, with enemies charging endlessly, there’s no time to collect heads?

In great battles, many military merit heads can’t be collected.

Yet this is solid military merit, if not recognized, wouldn’t it chill the hearts of soldiers bravely killing enemies?

But the loophole for randomly claiming military merit cannot be opened.

Later, these Military Merit Jade Slips were created.

With the Military Merit Jade Slip recorded by the accompanying military judges as evidence, military merit can be recognized.

These accompanying military judges, apart from strict military discipline and enforcing military law, their biggest task is recording military merit during battles.

Even at the moment of death, they fight to send out the Military Merit Jade Slip they hold.

To facilitate the Imperial Court in conferring merits on fallen soldiers.

"Grand Marshal, I’ll now send these Military Merit Jade Slips to the Governor of Northern War Zone, the Grand Commander of Human Demon Battlefield, the Military Merit Division, such clear military merits can be confirmed within a day or two!

By then, everyone will receive rewards, and Grand Marshal on this side can also..."

The military judge was joyously speaking, but Ye Zhen stopped him with a gesture.

"Report all military merits at half... no, report Demon Clan head military merits at thirty percent of total, no, report at twenty percent of total, reduce the total military merits by the corresponding amount. Also, report none of the Dao Realm heads!" Ye Zhen suddenly decided.

This statement stunned the military judge, and left him anxious!
