Chapter 26: Lira’s Story

The girl looked at the three injured fighters.

Without saying anything, she used her mud power to carefully lift them from the ground.

She carried them deeper into the forest.

After walking for some time, they reached a small wooden house hidden between the trees.

The girl brought Kil Ful, Maddy, and Rony inside and placed them on separate beds.

She then began healing them.

A gentle energy surrounded her hands.

Slowly, their injuries started to disappear.

After several hours, Kil Ful opened his eyes.

He looked around.

"Where are we?"

Maddy slowly sat up.

"The girl’s house, I guess."

Rony touched his body.

"My injuries are almost gone."

The girl entered the room.

"You’re awake."

Kil Ful looked at her.

"Thank you for saving us."

She nodded.

Maddy looked around the small house.

"Why do you live alone in this forest?"

The girl became quiet for a moment.

"Because I left my family."

Kil Ful looked at her.

"Why?"

The girl sat down.

"My name is Lira."

"I was born into the Arvellan Family, one of the most powerful families in my kingdom."

"My family had many strong warriors."

"But I wasn’t as powerful as the other members."

Lira lowered her eyes.

"My elder sister was extremely talented. My family always treated her with love and respect."

"But they were rude to me."

"They always compared me to her."

Kil Ful listened quietly.

"One day, I fought an ordinary boy."

"I lost."

Maddy frowned.

"And because of that?"

Lira nodded.

"My family couldn’t accept it."

"They told everyone that I was a disgrace to the family."

"Then they announced that I was no longer a member of the Arvellan Family."

"That night, I left."

Lira looked toward the window.

"I came into this forest alone."

"I built this house and started living here."

"At first, I was very weak."

"But I trained every day."

"I trained my body, my energy, and my mud power."

"Years passed."

"I became much stronger."

Rony looked at her.

"Strong enough to trap a Transcendent."

Lira smiled slightly.

"I still have a lot to learn."

Kil Ful stood up from the bed.

"You don’t have to live alone anymore."

Lira looked at him.

"What?"

Kil Ful smiled.

"Come with us."

Maddy nodded.

"Yeah. You saved our lives. And you are strong."

Rony smiled.

"Having someone like you on our team would be useful."

Lira looked at the three of them.

"You want me to join you?"

Kil Ful nodded.

"You don’t have to stay alone in this forest anymore."

Lira remained silent for a few seconds.

Then she smiled.

"Alright."

Maddy smiled.

"Then welcome to the team, Lira."

Rony laughed.

"Now we have another powerful fighter."

Kil Ful looked toward the window.

"We should return to the village and finish our mission."

Lira nodded.

"I’ll come with you."

The four prepared to leave the house together.

For the first time in years, Lira was no longer alone.

She had found a new group to stand beside.
