Chapter 52

The Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing

Nie Shuang hadn’t bathed yet, but seeing him happily playing with the children, she didn’t want to interrupt. She gave Xiao San a knowing glance before standing up.

Song Qilin seemed to notice and quickly stood up too.

“I’m staying as a guest at Kang Wang’s palace. It’s getting late. I should head back.”

“Mm...have a safe trip back,”

Nie Shuang replied with a smile. Song Qilin thought she might ask him to stay since they were husband and wife, after all. Why was she sending him off to someone else’s house as a guest? His brows furrowed slightly, but when he glanced at her again, he saw her big, round eyes sparkling with amusement.

She was teasing him!

Hmph! I’ll get you back for this, he thought, grinding his teeth slightly as he left the room. The wet nurses took the children to bed, and Nie Shuang leisurely took her bath. As she reflected on the look on his face when he was about to leave, she laughed to herself again.

What a fool! Why would you say you’re a guest at Kang Wang’s palace? Now she’d got an excuse to send him away!

Yet deep down, she found him utterly endearing.

After her bath, she got into bed but couldn’t sleep. She kept turning from side to side, a smile lingering on her lips. Her mind kept drifting back to when she saw him at the moon gate, when he held her so tightly and told her not to run away again, when they laid together watching the evening sky, and when he told her he loved her...

Nie Shuang crumpled the blanket in embarrassment, giggling to himself. Suddenly, she heard the door open and assumed it was Xiao San, so she called out,

“Xiao San, do you need something?”

There was no response. Curious, she got up and pulled back the bed curtain, only to see a tall figure in the dark, removing his outer robe and draping it over the railing.

“Qilin!”

Nie Shuang gasped, quickly lighting the lamp to see him more clearly. The General was dressed in clean clothes, carrying a fresh scent, and his hair was still slightly damp.

“It’s late. Why aren’t you resting? Why are you wandering around, and your hair is still wet? You’ll catch a cold.”

She tugged him to sit on the bed, loosening his topknot and grabbing a cloth to dry his hair. Song Qilin smiled warmly at her, sitting obediently like a child as she stood drying his hair.

“I missed you...”

He said softly, his voice filled with longing.

“Fool!”

Nie Shuang smiled, unable to resist scolding him. No matter how fierce others claimed he was, to her, he was nothing more than a simple-minded fool. After she finished drying his hair, she hung the cloth to dry.

“It’s late...Are you still going to send me back to Kang Wang’s palace?”

He was sitting, so he looked up at her and asked pitifully. Nie Shuang held back her smile so hard she felt her cheeks hurt, pretending to be stern with her hands on her hips.

“You know it’s late, so why did you come back!?”

He looked at her with a face resembling a pitiful puppy, slowly rising to his feet and heading toward the door as if he were about to leave.

“It’s late. Stop dragging your feet and come to bed already!”

Nie Shuang scolded softly, unable to stay mad.

At the sound of her words, his handsome face lit up with joy, but when he turned back, he quickly put on a sorrowful expression again.

“Shuang Shuang, I missed you. I just wanted to hold you, but if you’re not comfortable...”

Nie Shuang didn’t say anything but gave him a sharp glare instead. Seeing this, Song Qilin quickly climbed into bed, obediently mumbling, “I know, I know.” She walked over, extinguished the lamp, and joined him in bed

As soon as the light was extinguished, he transformed into a wolf! That docile puppy from earlier was nowhere to be seen! Nie Shuang hadn’t even fully laid down when he grabbed her waist and pulled her into his arms, kissing and licking her until she melted under his touch. Was he born in the year of the dog or something?! Her full breasts were fondled and teased until they became hard, and his mouth sucked and nipped at her, sending shivers of pleasure through her entire body. Her clothes were peeled away, revealing her soft, ample chest. She clung to his shoulders, breathlessly murmuring,

"Qilin...I...I..."

“Mm...”

He answered, his face buried in the fragrant curve of her neck, breathing heavily, his face flushed with desire. Both of them, half-undressed, their bodies pressed together in the heat of passion. Even in the dark, Nie Shuang’s beauty was undeniable—her flawless white skin and her soft, delicate body, now fuller and more mature after having children, was enough to drive him wild with desire.

She dug her nails into his firm muscles as he entered her, her lips releasing a soft, sweet moan.

"Ahhh...Qilin..."

Hearing her call his name in such a moment was enough to...

The two of them intertwined, their bodies moving together as if in a dance, his strong arms holding her tight as he buried himself in her warmth. His firm body moved with fervor, driven by overwhelming emotion. Nie Shuang pushed lightly against his chest, whispering between gasps,

"Ah..Qilin...a little slower..."

“Mm...” His face tense with exertion, sweat dripping from his body. “The babies are already born...does it still hurt?”

Nie Shuang glared at him.

“The babies were as small as kittens, but you’re as big as a buf...uh...a bull,”

She muttered, pouting. Song Qilin chuckled deeply, leaning down to kiss her soft lips with intense affection.

The spring night seemed endless. Nie Shuang didn’t stop him, allowing him to take what he desired from her, fulfilling his longing. She missed him just as much.

Morning came, but Xiao San didn’t dare enter the room. Last night, the General had appeared in the middle of the night, and it was Xiao San who had opened the door for him. Who knew what had happened to her Young Furen...? Sigh...luckily there was nothing pressing at the tea house today, so they could rest. After all, the couple hadn’t seen each other for over a year. It was often said that short separations made reunions even sweeter than the first night of marriage. The Young Furen must have feelings for him—otherwise, not even a General could force her into anything.

Wit that thought in mind, Xiao San waited outside the room, standing patiently until there was a call from within. It wasn’t until late morning that the Young Furen summoned her to bring in the bathing water. And afterward...? Well, it was a long while before General Song called for food to be brought in. The floor was soaked, and the Young Furen was sitting on the General’s lap, pouting with a sulky expression as he fed her sweetly, the affection between them enough to sting anyone’s eyes. Since morning, the young masters and young miss hadn’t even seen their parents. In most cases, children were orphaned when the mother died and only the father remained. But here, with the father back, it was as if they were still orphans. Truly pitiful!By the time Nie Shuang left the room in the afternoon, she rushed to check on the children. Her cheeks were flushed with a healthy glow, making her look even more beautiful. All day long, Song Qilin stayed by her side, refusing to be apart from her or the children. He didn’t even seem to care about his friend Kang Wang, who was likely searching for where he had disappeared to. By now, everyone in the household knew that the Lady Boss indeed had a husband!
