Chapter 184

The Dream

Since An Le had gone to bed early, she awoke before dawn, while Song Ren had only just fallen asleep about two hours before. When she first opened her eyes, she felt disoriented. This was not the luxurious bedchamber of the palace but rather the fresh, clean-smelling room of a young man. She turned to glance at the person beside her in the darkness, but she couldn’t see anything—only the steady sound of his rhythmic breathing. An Le smiled secretly to herself. To have him lying next to her felt like a dream. They had shared a bridal chamber last night. She wondered if perhaps there were already two little twins growing in her belly by now.

When she was in the palace, the Empress Dowager never spoke of matters between men and women to her beloved granddaughter. As for the group of Gugu whom the Empress Dowager had sent to train An Le, they nearly fainted from heart attack every time the princess made one of her bold remarks. None of them dared to broach such delicate topics with her, for fear of embarrassing themselves. If the princess blurted out something outrageous, they wouldn’t know how to respond. The matter of the wedding night should be left to the imperial son-in-law. The bridal chamber manuals, prepared for her, were left untouched, stacked alongside the many other lessons that the Empress Dowager had insisted she study. But An Le, naturally, had no interest in opening any of them. They were stuffed into the bottom of her dowry chest, but when she saw the books, she never thought of opening them.

Having rested fully, An Le found herself unable to fall back asleep, so she turned her attention to the person beside her. Song Ren was fast asleep, and mischief stirred in her. She leaned over to peer at his handsome face, eyes closed in slumber, the faint outline of his features just visible in the dim light. She teased his nose with the ends of her hair. His body shifted slightly as though he might wake up. He sighed heavily and turned away. An Le covered her mouth as she giggled, and decided to tease him further.

Song Ren unwittingly swatted at the air, accidentally brushing against her slender arm that rested on the mattress. The strength of his hand caused her to lose balance and fall onto his chest. Her soft, fragrant body pressed against his firm, muscular frame, and An Le let out a startled cry, trying to scramble back up. However, his strong arm wrapped around her, as his body responded immediately.

Song Ren, still half-asleep, believed he was once again having one of his familiar, pleasant dreams. In his dreams, he often indulged in everything he desired with An Le. The An Le of his dreams was always affectionate and alluring, responding passionately to his touch. But this time, the dream felt so vivid—the smooth skin, the fragrant scent lingering in his nose, and even her sweet, playful voice were all so real. His body stirred more than usual as his hands roamed over her beautiful figure, even though his eyes remained closed. He rolled over, pinning her beneath him. An Le’s small frame nearly disappeared into the thick mattress beneath his weight. Once she recovered from her shock, she called out to him, feeling slightly suffocated.

"A’Ren, you’re too heavy, please get off."

Song Ren didn’t reply. He began kissing her soft skin while mumbling incoherently as if he were sleep-talking, unaware of anything she was saying. His hot lips quickly found hers, silencing her protests. As she opened her mouth in surprise, his tongue slipped inside, tangling with hers and drawing out a gasp. An Le was taken aback. This kiss felt nothing like the one she had given him earlier that evening. It was sweet, thrilling, and dreamlike. She closed her eyes, allowing him to continue kissing her.

His large hand moved to cup her full breast, kneading it gently. An Le jolted, raising her hand to slap his arm. She wanted to scold him for being indecent, but her lips were still captured by his, so all she could manage was muffled protests. Song Ren didn’t linger on the outside for long, soon slipping his hand inside her garment to fully feel her smooth skin. An Le felt her whole body flush with heat, unaware that her clothing had become so disheveled that her chest was now fully exposed.

"A...A’Ren...stop..."

She gasped breathlessly as her soft lips were freed. But instead of listening to her, he was now focusing on her sensitive peaks with fiery passion. An Le let out an embarrassed moan, feeling a strange heat pooling in her lower abdomen. His fingers explored her body, leaving her feeling uneasy and overwhelmed. A sudden wave of fear washed over her, and she pushed against him with both hands.

"No! I don’t want to play anymore!"

Her clear voice now carried a hint of panic, but Song Ren was still lost in his dreamlike state. He believed he was living out one of the many dreams where he could have her just as he desired. His body, in the early morning, often bore evidence of how much he craved her. But this time was different—she was making him feel so much pleasure that he could barely hold back. He tightened his hold on her soft body, pressing against her. Something hard poked her lower belly and thighs, growing more strained with every squirm she made.

Song Ren’s breathing became ragged, his body heated. His handsome face traced her soft skin, the stubble of his chin grazing her delicate flesh, sending shivers through her. Everywhere An Le touched was solid muscle. Normally, the second young master was gentle and kind, but here, in the dark bridal chamber, An Le felt as if he had turned into a wild beast—ferocious, untamed, and powerful. His hips ground against her with a desperate heat, his large hand gripping her slender waist tightly. Though she didn’t fully understand what was happening, she sensed danger.

"Mmm! A’Ren! Stop!"

She hit his shoulder hard, finally waking Song Ren from his daze. He blinked, realizing this wasn’t a dream. His body, however, was fully aroused, and with her nearly naked body pressed so close to him, he struggled to contain himself. Quickly, he rolled off her, turning his back to her as he lay down.

"A’Ren, what’s wrong?"

An Le sat up, her eyes fixed on his broad back, which now trembled slightly.

"N..Nothing...just go to sleep,"

He replied, his deep voice hoarse, as if he was suffering.

"Just now...that part of you, it...it wasn’t normal, was it?"

An Le asked hesitantly, recalling how his hardened length had pressed insistently between her thighs, as if trying to enter her body. Now that he seemed to have regained his senses, her courage returned.

"A’Ren...what’s happening to you?"

She moved closer, gently touching his strong arm with concern. Song Ren turned back around and gathered her into his arms.

"I want you, A’Le,"

He whispered hoarsely as he buried his face in her fragrant neck. An Le felt ticklish but didn’t push him away. Instead, she asked innocently:

"Didn’t we already consummate our marriage earlier tonight?"

Song Ren didn’t answer her question directly. Instead, he asked:

"Do you trust me? If we truly became intimate as husband and wife, would you be afraid?"

An Le, hearing his words, suddenly felt a surge of courage and responded boldly,

"An Le is not someone who’s afraid of anything!"

She could feel his broad shoulders shaking slightly, as though he was holding back laughter. Then, she heard him murmur, ‘Good!’ Before she could ask what was good, his tall figure loomed over her once more.

"Don’t be afraid, beautiful, I’ll take care of you with the utmost care."As his low voice whispered these words teasingly, everything around her became blurred, as if she were slipping into a dream.
