Chapter 2700: Corpse Warehouse

The room in the tower is quite large, but now it’s completely filled. A strong stench permeates from every corner of the room. The pile of corpse bags, some still retaining human shapes, have swollen and distorted. It’s obvious what has become of the bodies inside without even looking.

Biting the tongue might not necessarily kill you, but it’s better than being tortured by the Suitcase Man.

"She is Xiao Mei." The Girl in the painting recognized the person. She removed her hood and walked over, squatting in front of the corpse bag and fiddling around, pulling out a prop she had seen on Xiao Mei before.

Xiao Mei was the Outer Zone Player who had previously teamed up with Xu Huo to pass the instance in Zone 039. When the instance ended, Xu Huo suggested she leave early. Unexpectedly, not only did she not leave, but she ended up in the Suitcase Man’s castle. Isn’t this a destined reunion of sorts?

Xiao Mei was now crying uncontrollably, but her face was so swollen that tears couldn’t flow down, instead pooling in her eye sockets, mixed with blood, looking particularly eerie.

"You’re so ugly." The Girl in the painting wiped her face with her clothes and asked her, "Have you seen the upright?"

Xiao Mei shook her head slightly.

"Since we’ve run into her, let’s just take her out." Yan Jiayu found an antitoxin and injected it into her. Just as she was about to pull her up, the recovering person quickly said, "Get out quickly! There’s..."

Before the words were finished, the pile of corpses collapsed towards them, and then a skeletal monster-like alien leapt out from beneath it. It opened its large eyeballs, scanning everyone present. It wasn’t in a hurry to attack, but instead grabbed a corpse bag from the side and stuffed it into its mouth.

It looked very much like a skeletal monster, with dried skin and flesh but intact organs. Xu Huo and his companions could clearly see the traces of the corpse sliding down its throat, forming a bulging shape on its shriveled body.

After consuming the corpse bag, blood veins suddenly climbed over its black eyeballs, and it roared at Xu Huo and the others!

The roar was like that of a fierce beast, capable of making one’s soul tremble. Almost at the same time, Xu Huo and the others turned to flee without thinking.

"Stop!" However, the next second, Xu Huo, who had been at the front, suddenly stopped and commanded the others not to advance further.

Unfortunately, it was already too late. Zhu Bo reacted quickly and stopped in time, but Hong Xi, carrying Dai He, wasn’t so lucky. The two of them took just one more step than Zhu Bo did, and their bodies were cut into several blocks, mixed and fell to the ground!

Zhu Bo stared at his companion’s corpse with eyes wide open, then quickly gathered himself and said in a low voice: "My manipulation of spatial power failed just now! That creature can wield spatial power!"

No new active props appeared, and spatial power fluctuated this greatly; it could only be that alien!

"It’s coming!" Jiji Bird warned loudly.

The long-limbed alien crawled quickly like a spider from the pile of corpses, suddenly pouncing toward Qi Cong and Yan Jiayu!

Yan Jiayu’s external appearance was a prop, so she wasn’t the primary target of the alien’s attack. It was more interested in Qi Cong, so when the two dodged to either side, it chose to pursue Qi Cong!

"Why always me!" Qi Cong was already heavily injured, despite having used many potions, his recovery wasn’t quick enough. Therefore, as the alien chased him closely, he was only barely hopping forward.

The monster’s breath was right behind him, the foul odor almost making Qi Cong faint. Unable to run any farther, he could only shout for help!

Xu Huo first used Static Time to immobilize the monster, then Yan Jiayu, who had come back for rescue, picked up a corpse bag at her feet and threw it as a weapon at the monster. However, this throw didn’t affect the monster. Under the constraints of time force, it suddenly stood still.

"Hold it right there!" Zhu Bo shouted, controlling spatial power to surround the alien forming a large swipe of spatial ray blades, piercing it directly into a porcupine!

Spatial power is invisible, but the wounds on the alien and the sounds it made while getting injured were very clear. Due to time slowing, the wounds appeared slowly, yet even under such conditions, the alien couldn’t escape the time force.

Zhu Bo’s eyes darkened sharply, drawing numerous spatial ray blades directly through the alien’s body!

The time force driven by Super Evolver cannot be easily escaped, and the static time formed by time-related items is easily offset by space-time class props precisely because the time force driven by such props is very unstable, thus even top Rank-A players like Dou Shengnan find it extremely difficult to escape once held by time force.

The notion Xu Huo realized from a third of the game, ’No space under time’, refers to how time force, when introduced to another space, typically remains uninfluenced by spatial power. They seem to coexist transparently. At this moment, Zhu Bo’s attack using spatial power, contrary to props and instruments which are difficult to approach, was a very effective means of attack, even if it was slower. After all, the alien had no defensive instruments on its body.

"Do it again!" Xu Huo didn’t release the alien but reminded Zhu Bo to follow through.

Zhu Bo intended to do just that, but as the spatial ray blades gathered once again, a two-person tall, chubby upright suddenly shot out of nowhere, immediately knocking him away!

Zhu Bo fell within the range of time force and remained in his falling posture there, while the upright rotated once in the air, quickly knocking Yan Jiayu and Qi Cong to the ground, and then charged towards Xu Huo!

"Li Chun!" Xu Huo retreated swiftly and activated time force once more. Yet, the upright seemed sensitive to it, suddenly speeding up and narrowly avoiding his line of sight!
