Chapter 329: Chapter 329: Facing a Formidable Foe, One Can Only Fight

The words had barely left Goyelda’s lips when two screams rang out almost simultaneously from beside him.

Two of his Void Realm cultivators collapsed into pools of blood.

Cold sweat broke out on Goyelda’s forehead. He drew the Long Sword at his waist and looked around warily.

’Two Void Realm Cultivators and my Divine Separation Realm Vice General... to think they all died without a sound.’

The problem was, they were dead, and he hadn’t even seen a shadow of their attacker.

He, too, had sensed that fleeting killing intent, but by the time he could react, someone was already dead. The feeling vanished without a trace, as if it were just an illusion.

"Come out! Get out here! If you have any courage, come fight me!" Goyelda roared, constantly turning, his grip tight on the Sword in his hand.

The next moment, however, several screams suddenly erupted from the crowd of Cultivators.

Dozens of Cultivators instantly descended into chaos. In their panic, they mercilessly trampled the few bodies that had already fallen into pools of blood.

Then, screams rang out one after another. With every cry, one or two more Cultivators died.

It was as if they were cursed. An unseen terror gripped everyone’s heart.

Even the people of the Great Xia Kingdom on the walls of Xingyuan City watched on, utterly shocked.

No one knew what kind of technique this was.

Like a specter, the killer was unseen, the method of killing invisible.

Goyelda was undoubtedly the one with the highest Cultivation in the Northern Domain Army at that moment. He charged into the crowd of Cultivators, his Sword slashing wildly, but he only ever cut through empty air.

But the screams didn’t stop.

In the end, profound terror sent the surviving Cultivators scattering in all directions.

"None of you are to run! Stop where you are!" Goyelda bellowed at the fleeing Cultivators.

But who would listen to him?

In the face of death, everything else is meaningless.

The most terrifying part was that the enemy was so strong, yet they didn’t even know where he was. They would die without even knowing how.

At this very moment, how could Goyelda not feel terrified?

Two Void Realm cultivators had died tragically right beside him, yet he, a Void Realm Late Stage Martial Artist, hadn’t detected the enemy’s location.

Despite his own vigilance, Cultivators fell one by one, and he was powerless to stop it. How could he not be afraid?

One hundred and forty-seven Cultivators, the strongest at Void Realm Tier Five and the weakest at Nascent Soul Realm Tier Three, were all killed by this unseen force.

The remaining Cultivators had all fled.

Just then, Chu Fan appeared before Goyelda, his expression cold as he gazed at him.

"You refer to yourself as ’this king.’ What is your relationship to Goyerno, the Southern Garden King?" Chu Fan demanded.

"Who in the hell are you?" Goyelda shot back, trying to sound fierce to mask his fear.

Chu Fan let out a cold laugh. "You’re in no position to ask me questions. First, answer me: what is your relationship to Goyerno?"

Goyelda shouted harshly, "Hmph! You’re nothing but a petty coward who only knows how to launch sneak attacks! I will take your life right now!"

With that, he slashed his Sword at Chu Fan.

But before he could even unleash the Sword Momentum he had gathered, a sharp pain shot through his wrist. Blood gushed down his hand, along the Long Sword, and dripped to the ground.

Chu Fan seemed as if he hadn’t moved at all, still standing opposite him.

But as a Void Realm Late Stage Cultivator, Goyelda knew. It wasn’t that Chu Fan hadn’t moved, but that his Sword was simply too fast. Even he had only seen a flicker of a shadow, unable to react in the slightest.

"Is Void Realm Tier Seven really that strong?" Chu Fan said with a cold smile.

"Who... who exactly are you? Why have I never heard of someone like you in the Eastern Domain?" Goyelda’s voice was trembling now.

He was truly afraid.

The power of the man before him was beyond his comprehension.

"It seems you still haven’t grasped the gravity of your situation!"

Chu Fan spoke, and his figure flashed again. Goyelda screamed as his entire left arm was severed.

The surrounding Northern Domain Soldiers, far from daring to close in, actually retreated many feet.

"I’ll ask you one last time. What is your relationship to Goyerno?"

"He is my elder brother! The Southern Garden King will repay today’s humiliation a hundredfold! Just you wait!"

Goyelda laughed, his face a savage mask.

"Is that so? Then it’s a shame you won’t be around to see it. But I can tell you this: within two weeks at the latest, your brother Goyerno will be dead!"

Just as Chu Fan was speaking, dozens of Profound-Breaking Arrows shot toward him.

Before the Celestial Dragon Armor, what were mere Profound-Breaking Arrows?

Following the direction the Profound-Breaking Arrows had come from, Chu Fan began a massacre.

Without any other Cultivators to oppose him, even in the midst of a vast army, a Void Realm expert was like a Divine Spirit. How could these ordinary men possibly defend against him?

The people on the walls of Xingyuan City saw this as well. The city gates suddenly flew open, and a flood of soldiers poured out, charging toward the battlefield.

The slaughter of Great Xia’s counterattack had begun once more.

Watching helplessly as the Northern Domain’s troops were massacred, Goyelda’s eyes turned bloodshot, and he cursed ceaselessly.

At this moment, he was filled with regret. ’Why didn’t we just charge into Xingyuan City in one fell swoop? Why did we have to play at hunting horses?’

For the sake of time, Chu Fan did not let Goyelda watch the Northern Domain Army get slaughtered to the last man. Instead, as the Great Xia Army charged in, he beheaded Goyelda with a single strike of his Sword.

Because of the brutal battle at Xingyuan City, Liu Yisheng, Liu Yicai, and the Old Ancestor and Supreme Elder from Lingyun Sect who had come to help were all severely injured. Only by leaving Yun Xi behind could they be healed quickly.

Besides those few, Xingyuan City had also suffered the most deaths among its Cultivators, with countless more severely wounded.

Seeing this, Chu Fan’s hatred for the Northern Domain grew into a towering inferno.

A plan for revenge was already forming in his mind.

He left Yun Xi in Xingyuan City and rushed to the other two cities himself.

The crises at Beisui City and Xingyuan City were resolved, but the battles at Dexing City and Kelin City were still locked in a stalemate.

’These Northern Domain people are shameless. Each of their armies has three Void Realm Cultivators and Profound-Breaking Arrows.’

So even if the Cultivators in those two cities could withstand the attacks of three Void Realm experts, they had no way to deal with the Profound-Breaking Arrows.

Chu Fan had to go there himself.

Fortunately, the people of the Northern Domain were accustomed to their arrogance. They looked down on the Cultivators of the Eastern Domain from the bottom of their hearts, and it was this arrogance that gave Chu Fan the opportunity to save the day.

Chu Fan raced nonstop, and finally, a day and a night after the war began, he had slain all twelve of the invading Void Realm Cultivators from the Northern Domain with his Juntian Sword.

Of the Cultivators who had followed the Northern Domain Army to invade the Eastern Domain, thirty percent were slaughtered, twenty percent died in battle, and the remaining half fled, their courage completely broken.

As for the nearly four hundred thousand soldiers of the Northern Domain Army in the four-pronged invasion, only seventy to eighty thousand managed to escape back to the Northern Domain. The vast majority were annihilated.

Although Great Xia had won in the end, no one who participated in this war, including Chu Fan, could feel happy.

Great Xia had long been prepared for this battle, yet the casualties were still devastatingly high. If not for Chu Fan’s timely rescue, the Eastern Domain would not have gotten off so easily.

From this battle, they also saw the inadequacy of the Eastern Domain’s military might.

The Central Domain called the Eastern Domain "Barbarians" because, in truth, the Eastern Domain could not compare to the Central Domain in any respect.

But in the eyes of the Northern Domain People, the people of the Eastern Domain weren’t even worthy of being called ants.

This was mainly because the Cultivators of the Eastern Domain were simply too weak.
