Chapter 322: Chapter 322: Before Treating Wen Chan’s Gu

The plea of her own Direct Disciple was far more effective than the words of an outsider like Chu Fan, but Dugu Ling still refused Yun Xi.

The reason was that the four of them were bound by a promise and could not leave this mountain range.

As for why the four of them made such a promise, or to whom, they did not say.

However, Yun Xi did not come away empty-handed. Although Dugu Ling could not leave, they permitted Yun Xi to depart for three days.

After all, Yun Xi had only been studying medicine here for four years. What’s more, her time was split among four masters, so she had spent a year at most learning the Insect Gu Technique from Dugu Ling. Could she really cure the Gu Poison in Wen Chan’s body?

’Chu Fan was naturally skeptical.’

Yun Xi noticed his doubt and said with a smile, "What? You don’t trust your wife’s medical skills?"

Chu Fan scratched his head in embarrassment.

Yun Xi took a small, golden box from her robes, waving it in front of Chu Fan. "Master Dugu gave me this. As long as it’s a Gu Poison, I can cure it—unless it’s one of the Ten Great Gu Insects. From your description, the Gu Poison in that woman, Wen Chan, definitely can’t be one of the Ten Great Gu Insects. So, don’t you worry, husband!"

As she finished, Yun Xi gave him a playful smile.

A smile like that made Chu Fan’s heart melt.

Of the three women he had been intimate with, Chu Fan couldn’t say who was most important in his heart. His sense of responsibility as a man meant that if any one of the three was in danger, he would risk everything for them.

But when it came to affection, Yun Xi would always be first. They had grown up together and experienced so much side by side.

"What did you just call me?" Chu Fan asked.

"Husband! Is that wrong? We were married on Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain. Or are you trying to back out of it now that you have Sister Leng and Sister Yan?" Yun Xi said, puffing her cheeks in mock anger.

Hearing this and seeing her expression, Chu Fan couldn’t resist reaching out to pinch her cheek. "You’re not very convincing when you’re pretending to be jealous."

"Hmph! I’m not jealous, I’m angry!"

"The person who knows me best in this world is you, Yun Xi, and the person who knows you best is me. I know what my wife is thinking just by the way she pouts," Chu Fan said, lightly tapping her delicate nose with his finger.

"You’re no fun. Can’t you just play along?"

"Let’s get going. Wen Ang and Cailing will be overjoyed to see you," Chu Fan said.

"Mhm!"

At the thought of his two disciples, Yun Xi broke into a smile. Chu Fan’s disciples were no different from her own.

They boarded the Space-Time Shuttle and arrived outside Shuoyue City in a matter of moments. After hiding the shuttle, Yun Xi disguised her appearance, and the two headed to Celestial Heart Hall first.

As for going to the Simurgh Pavilion to treat Wen Chan’s Gu Poison, that would require some planning. After all, Chu Fan had no idea how many spies from the God Slaughter Hall were in the Simurgh Pavilion.

Upon arriving at the Celestial Heart Hall residence, Yun Xi was astonished to see another Chu Fan teaching Wen Ang and Cailing Martial Techniques.

Seeing the surprise in her eyes, Chu Fan explained, "That’s just a Spiritual Body I created. Because of my Spiritual Power, at my current Cultivation Realm, I can do three things at once. That means I can create two such Spiritual Bodies."

"What’s your Realm now?" Yun Xi asked.

As long as Chu Fan didn’t use his True Qi, no one could discern his Realm, and Yun Xi was no exception.

Four years ago, when they parted, Chu Fan had only been in the Divine Separation Realm.

"Void Realm, Tier One," Chu Fan said.

"Ah!" Yun Xi gasped.

Even though her four masters were all in the Saint Realm, she was still utterly shocked to suddenly hear that Chu Fan had already reached the Void Realm.

’Four years to go from the Divine Separation Realm to the Void Realm... how could she not be astonished by that speed?’

She had been taught by four masters at the Saint Realm and had access to countless Miracle Elixirs, yet in four years, she had only advanced from the Nascent Soul Realm to the Late Stage Divine Separation Realm.

Although both had advanced by two Great Realms, progressing from Nascent Soul to Divine Separation was a completely different concept from progressing from Divine Separation to Void.

It was no exaggeration to say that after one’s Cultivation reached the Integration Realm, advancing a single tier was several times more difficult than progressing through the entire Great Realm from Nascent Soul to Soul Emergence.

Chu Fan just smiled. His advancement was impossible to replicate, after all. It wasn’t just due to fortuitous encounters; he also had the Juntian Mirror, a trump card of immense power.

"Wen Ang, Cailing, look who’s here!" Chu Fan called out, waving to the two youngsters who were training hard in the courtyard.

At first, they were confused by the sight of Yun Xi’s unfamiliar face. But when she reverted to her original appearance, Wen Ang, though excited, managed to remain composed. Cailing, however, cheered with delight.

"Mistress!" Cailing cried, running over and throwing her arms around Yun Xi’s waist.

"Oh, my! Cailing has already formed her Golden Core! That’s amazing."

Wen Ang walked slowly over to Yun Xi and bowed low. "This disciple greets Mistress!"

"Wen Ang is in the Golden Core Realm too! How impressive. You two are much more talented than your master. He didn’t form his Golden Core until he was twenty-one," Yun Xi said, laughing teasingly.

"Mistress, Cailing missed you so much!" Cailing said, nuzzling her face against Yun Xi’s stomach.

Yun Xi took out two small Porcelain Bottles from her robes and gave one to each of them. "These are Spirit Pills your mistress refined for you. You can just eat them like candy."

’Telling them to eat Elixirs like candy... only Yun Xi would say something like that.’

Chu Fan couldn’t help but shake his head. If he had known the Porcelain Bottles were filled with Third Transformation Elixirs, his jaw probably would have hit the floor.

But Yun Xi didn’t say anything.

With Yun Xi’s return, their afternoon Cultivation was put on hold. Chu Fan went to prepare some wild game, roasting it in the courtyard. The entire afternoon passed in blissful harmony for the four people and one fox.

After four years of studying medicine with her four masters, Yun Xi’s superb medical skills now far surpassed those of the old masters in the Great Xia Kingdom’s Imperial Hospital.

According to Yun Xi, she would be able to graduate from her four masters’ tutelage in another five or six years. All that would remain then was to accumulate experience through practice and verify what she had learned.

Of course, if she wanted to reach the level of any one of her masters, it would be impossible by simply working in isolation in the Bamboo Sea. Medicine was a process of understanding theory and accumulating experience through countless practical applications.

Even so, Chu Fan was still astonished. Shi Lun and the other three had all been Divine Doctors, once famous far and wide. For Yun Xi to be able to graduate after only ten years... ’how could he not be amazed?’

That night, Chu Fan disguised himself as Great Xia’s Prince Linquan, while Yun Xi took on the appearance of the prince’s Guard. Together, they headed for the Simurgh Pavilion.

This Prince Linquan had once been the Crown Prince of the Linquan Kingdom, one of the Eastern Domain Countries. Back when the Eastern Domain was unified, Monarch Linquan swore to die rather than surrender. In response, the Crown Prince rallied the civil and military officials, staged a coup to force his father to abdicate, and then led the Linquan Kingdom in surrendering to Great Xia. For his actions, the former Crown Prince was granted the hereditary title of Prince Linquan.

Like the sovereigns of other small kingdoms who had voluntarily submitted to Great Xia, Prince Linquan was settled in Shuoyue City after being ennobled.

After arriving in Shuoyue City, this Prince Linquan showed no interest in power, preferring instead to frequent its haunts of pleasure and vice.

The reason Chu Fan had disguised himself as the prince to visit the Simurgh Pavilion tonight was that Prince Linquan had spent fifty thousand taels of silver to book Wen Ya’Er for the evening.
