Chapter 295: Beginning to Comprehend the Sword of Time
Inside the Secret Realm.
Chu Fan and Long Yinwen climbed to their feet. Although they had only feigned death, their injuries were very real. The wounds weren’t fatal, but they looked incredibly gruesome.
With a single thought from Chu Fan, they appeared at the edge of the Spring of Life. Chu Fan jumped straight in. Though Long Yinwen didn’t understand why, he followed suit and jumped in as well.
As the waters of the Spring of Life enveloped their bodies, their injuries began to heal at a rate visible to the naked eye.
“I never expected this spring water to have such benefits,” Long Yinwen couldn’t help but exclaim in admiration.
“From now on, you can train anywhere you wish within this Secret Realm. Raise your cultivation to the Void Realm as quickly as possible! However, you can no longer use the name Long Yinwen. Take some time and think of a new one.”
“No need. From this day forward, I am Gui Fan.”
“Gui Fan?” Chu Fan asked, puzzled.
“It has a dual meaning. The first is that I have awoken from the illusory dream of being the Imperial Grandson and have finally returned to the life of an ordinary man. The second is that from now on, I will follow only your commands.”
Chu Fan quickly waved his hands and said, “You’re exaggerating! That’s too much!”
After getting out of the Spring of Life, Chu Fan gave Gui Fan a new set of clothes and changed into a fresh set himself.
He instructed, “You can do as you please within this Secret Realm. There’s nothing here that can truly threaten your life. If there’s an emergency, just shout my name, and I can appear by your side at any time.”
After saying this, Chu Fan vanished without a trace in the blink of an eye.
The next moment, he appeared in a swamp not far from a snow-capped mountain.
“Benefactor Chu, how did you know this humble monk was here?”
Hui Ke was incredibly surprised to see Chu Fan appear.
“I’m more curious about how you entered the Secret Realm,” Chu Fan said.
“This humble monk came in through the same place you did, just a few days after you.”
Hearing that Hui Ke had also entered through the Space-Time Shuttle, Chu Fan didn’t press him on how he’d snuck aboard. The Space-Time Shuttle was his private property now; his only concern was whether there were other passages into this world.
“Why do you look so disheveled?” Chu Fan asked.
“This humble monk came to retrieve a relic. However, I did not expect that the time was not yet right. Not only did I fail to obtain the relic, I was even injured by its power.”
“Is this relic also one of your True Body Relics from a previous life?” Chu Fan asked in surprise.
Hui Ke nodded.
“Though I don’t know which specific lifetime this relic is from, I have a feeling it belongs to the most powerful of my Nine Reincarnations.”
“Where is the relic? Let’s go have a look. Maybe I can help you retrieve it.”
Hui Ke was secretly delighted to hear this and pointed toward the summit of the snow-capped mountain.
Chu Fan grabbed him by the shoulder, and in the next instant, they appeared before the Treasure Tower.
“Benefactor Chu, what kind of ability is this?”
Hui Ke was utterly shaken. Even when he was uninjured, it had taken him several days to climb this mountain.
Yet Chu Fan had brought him here in the blink of an eye.
“For the time being, I am in complete control of this world. My will is this world’s will.”
Instead of feeling relieved by the explanation, Hui Ke was even more shocked.
Chu Fan didn’t explain further. “Where is the relic?” he asked.
“It’s the object at the top of the tower that occasionally flashes with a golden light.”
Chu Fan walked directly toward the Treasure Tower.
Hui Ke hurriedly shouted, “Benefactor Chu, be careful!”
The words had barely left his mouth when Chu Fan pushed open the Treasure Tower’s doors and strode inside.
Aside from being taller than an ordinary Buddha Tower, its interior furnishings were no different. Each floor held dozens of Buddha statues, and the ceilings were painted with lifelike scenes depicting stories from the Buddhist Sect.
Chu Fan wasn’t particularly interested in any of this and headed directly for the top floor.
On the top floor, the vast space contained only a single Lotus Platform. Atop the platform sat a Lotus Lamp, and inside the lamp was a seven-colored, glittering gem the size of a baby’s fist.
‘If Hui Ke hadn’t told me, I would have just assumed this was some kind of unknown gem. Who would ever connect it to a relic?’
Instead of taking out the relic by itself, Chu Fan picked up the entire Lotus Lamp and then walked back down from the top of the tower, step by step.
Arriving in front of Hui Ke, Chu Fan presented the Lotus Lamp to him and asked, “Is this it?”
“It is!” Hui Ke said.
“Take it, then. And remember, you owe me one, haha!”
“Wait, Benefactor Chu. For now, it’s best if you hold onto this relic for me. This humble monk cannot take it yet.”
“Cannot take it? Why not?”
“For my Nine Reincarnations, I need to recover my True Body Relics one by one, in order. This humble monk cannot touch this particular relic yet.”
“You should have said so earlier! In that case, I’ll just put it back. Come find me when you need it!” With that, Chu Fan tossed the Lotus Lamp in his hand upward.
The Lotus Lamp and the relic returned to their place on the Lotus Platform at the top of the tower.
“But won’t I have to wait another thirty-six years for the next chance to enter?” Hui Ke asked urgently.
Chu Fan smiled and said, “Thirty-six years applies to other people. For me, I can come and go as I please. So just let me know whenever you need it.”
Hui Ke still didn’t understand.
Chu Fan explained further, “For the time being, I have complete control over the Space-Time Shuttle. As for the Hua Xu Empire, they just use it to train their soldiers every thirty-six years. But now that I’m in control of the shuttle, even the Hua Xu Empire will need my permission if they want to come here for training.”
“How can that be?”
“You don’t need to know all the details.”
Hui Ke no longer had any doubts. After all, the facts Chu Fan had demonstrated were right before his eyes—teleporting a thousand li with a single thought. If he didn’t have complete control over the entire Secret Realm, how could he possibly do that?
“What about you? What are your plans? Do you want to train in the Secret Realm for a while? Or do you plan to leave now?”
“This humble monk…”
Hui Ke was hesitant. Chu Fan said, “I’d advise you not to go out just yet. The Hua Xu Kingdom’s Imperial Forest Guard will definitely be posted by the Space-Time Shuttle. If you go out now, you’ll be walking right into their trap.”
“Why?”
“Because by now, everyone who came here to train has already left the Secret Realm, except for me and someone named Gui Fan.”
After hearing Chu Fan’s explanation, Hui Ke decisively chose to remain in the Secret Realm for a while, asking Chu Fan to fetch him when he was ready to leave.
After parting ways with Hui Ke, Chu Fan sensed the White Fox’s location and teleported to her side with a single thought.
The White Fox was still completely focused on refining the Seven-Colored Glazed Treasure Tree.
The most obvious sign of her progress was that behind her, a third tail had fully grown, and a fourth was already halfway there.
As for the Seven-Colored Glazed Treasure Tree in front of her, only six Seven-Colored Glaze Fruits remained. At this rate, she would probably finish refining the entire Treasure Tree in another two or three days.
Waiting was always an ordeal, so Chu Fan simply sat down cross-legged nearby and began to comprehend the Sword of Time.
The Sword of Time was, in essence, a Sword Technique that utilized the Time Law.
When striking with the sword, one could alter the time rate to achieve the ultimate speed, leaving an opponent with no way to defend. ℯ
Therefore, to master the Sword of Time, one must first comprehend the Time Law.
And as Chu Fan read the book over and over, he actually began to touch upon the Time Law…
