Journey to Planar World
Chapter 578 - 578: The Mortal Risk of Persuading a God
[New: Marvel World Full of Heroic Spirits]
"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it all! Loki has truly lost her mind!"
"That crazy woman sends her people on a routine basis to search and explore every single corner of Knossos just to find the Sword Princess!"
Deep within the darkness of Knossos—the man-made underground labyrinth built in secret beneath Orario City that served as a 'second illegal entrance' connected directly to the structure of the original Dungeon—one of the greatest masterminds behind the world's chaos, Enyo, who possessed the true identity of Dionysus, cursed in absolute rage.
The echo of his voice trembled as it struck the cold stone walls of that isolated underground labyrinth.
Ever since two weeks ago, Dionysus, who was forced to flee and hide within the depths of Knossos to escape the threat of Charlie's revenge, found his peace completely shattered.
Groups of Loki Familia adventurers had begun moving aggressively and frantically, penetrating through the secret sections of Knossos.
Clearly, their primary goal in combing through Knossos was just one thing: finding the whereabouts of Ais Wallenstein, who had vanished mysteriously.
In fact, almost every single corner of Orario City had already been searched and thoroughly scoured by the Loki Familia, not excluding Daedalus Street—a slum, poor, and giant-labyrinth-shaped residential area stretching wide across the eastern part of Orario City.
Because Daedalus Street served as the main entrance to Knossos, the massive movements of the Loki Familia above ground automatically triggered the opening of secret passages underground.
"Bastard... None of this is going according to my plan! Why has it turned into such a mess?!" Dionysus cursed while clenching his fists so tightly that his fingernails dug into his palms.
"I have already lost so many exceptionally precious pawns! Filvis and the others... all of them wiped out!" Dionysus growled in restraint, gritting his teeth firmly together.
"If only I knew this would happen, I would never have dreamed of sending Filvis and the others to kill that bastard Solo Leveling!"
"Look at me now! A great god forced to live backed into a corner and hiding like a sewer rat in this darkness!"
Dionysus stomped his foot hard against the stone floor of Knossos, venting the frustration burning in his chest.
"This is all because of Solo Leveling! All this chaos and failure originates from his existence! If only that white-haired bastard had never existed in this world, my plan to destroy Orario would have undoubtedly been a massive, flawless success!"
"Even in a desperate situation like this, instead of reflecting on yourself, you actually blame someone else for your own failure. What an utterly selfish god you are, God Dionysus. Or rather... should I address you by your alias, Enyo?"
A calm yet cold voice suddenly echoed from the darkness behind him.
Dionysus's pupils instantly shrank drastically. He turned with a jerk, while the expression on his face displayed an overwhelming, unbearable shock.
He reflexively took several steps backward with a slightly trembling body, pointing shakingly toward the figure of the young man who had just been the object of his anger.
"Y-You... Solo Leveling, Charlie Avalon! H-How on earth could you find me in this place?!" Dionysus shrieked in panic.
Facing the god's shock and panic, Charlie merely shrugged his shoulders casually while wearing a faint smile.
"Finding you is not a difficult matter in the slightest, God Dionysus." He said calmly. "To be completely honest with you, I possess a skill called Senrigan, an omniscient vision that allows me to see every present event in every corner of the world."
That absurd declaration caused Dionysus to vehemently deny it.
"Nonsense! Impossible!" Dionysus shouted while shaking his head in complete rejection. "Don't play me for a fool! That kind of omniscient vision power is a high-tier divine domain possessed only by a handful of gods! There is no way a worthless mortal like you could possess such a power!"
Charlie stared at him expressionlessly, unaffected by Dionysus's rebuttal.
"I don't care whether you believe it or not. My arrival here is not to argue with you, but rather to return the favor for all the 'hospitality' you have shown me all this time."
Dionysus's gaze shifted downward, landing squarely on the blade of the Sacred Sword Severian held in Charlie's right hand. The sharp glow of energy radiating from the sword indicated that the young man before him was not joking in the slightest.
Instantly, the handsome face of Dionysus turned exceedingly ugly.
"W-Wait a moment! Don't do anything foolish, Solo Leveling!" Dionysus spoke in a panic-stricken tone, yet tried to suppress his voice to sound dominant. "You ought to know that a mortal is strictly forbidden from killing a god! This rule is not merely a written law made by humans or the Guild, but part of the Divine Law that binds the entire world!"
Dionysus took heavy, ragged breaths, trying to persuade Charlie.
"Killing a god is considered the most heinous sin in existence! Its mystical effects will directly act to destroy your soul!"
"If an adventurer recklessly kills a god, the Falna carved on their back will immediately break, lock up, or become extremely unstable from having defiled the purity of divine essence!"
"And that isn't even the worst part... Your soul will be stained by a deeply concentrated black curse! When you die later, your soul will be tortured and face difficulty being cleansed in the cycle of reincarnation, or even cursed eternally by the gods guarding the afterlife!"
He pointed at Charlie's face with a trembling finger.
"Not only that, whichever mortal slays a god will immediately be branded with the status of a supreme criminal by the Guild! You will be hunted by every strongest Familia in the world without a single place to hide in this Lower World!"
However, Charlie remained standing still in his place. His face stayed serene without showing the slightest trace of fear or hesitation.
"Thank you for the lengthy warning you have provided, God Dionysus." He said softly, wearing a mysterious smile. "However... the killing I refer to here is no ordinary murder where a god's physical body is destroyed and then your soul is pulled back to Heaven..."
Charlie tilted his head slightly, staring straight into the irises of Dionysus's eyes.
"...Rather, it is true death. The absolute erasure of your existence."
"..."
The atmosphere inside the Knossos corridor fell into a suffocating silence.
Water dripping from the stone ceiling seemed to freeze in midair.
Dionysus was stunned for a moment, before the expression on his face finally turned into a broad smirk, and he burst out laughing so loudly that his voice echoed, filling the corridor of Knossos.
"Bwahaha! Hahaha! True death?! Absolute erasure?! Hahahahaha!" Dionysus laughed until he held his stomach, staring at Charlie with a gaze full of contempt and ridicule. "What kind of arrogance is this now, oh mortal?! Erasing the existence of a god absolutely is an utter impossibility! We are immortal! You have truly gone mad, overly drunk on the miniscule power that you possess!"
