The Fight Victor Desired

Here’s the scene rewritten with shorter, more natural sentence flow while keeping the events and progression intact.

Chapter — The Fight He Had Been Waiting For

"This is it! This was the kind of fight I always wanted!"

The thought burned through Victor’s mind as he continued dodging Fean’s relentless attacks.

His golden eyes were brighter than ever.

For so long, Victor had been holding himself back.

He had relied almost entirely on his instincts and movement, doing everything he could to survive Fean’s overwhelming barrage.

But that was no longer enough.

If he wanted to keep fighting like this, he had to stop restraining himself.

Victor drew in a deep breath.

The air inside the ruined cave seemed to change.

For a brief moment, everything became strangely still.

Then—

Boom!

A massive surge of mana erupted from Victor’s body.

The force spread through the cave in an instant.

Dust scattered across the broken floor was thrown into the air. Loose stones bounced and rolled away from his feet. Even the cracks that already covered the cave walls groaned under the sudden pressure.

Victor had finally released everything he currently possessed.

His mana surged through every part of his body.

It flowed through his limbs, his chest, his veins.

Every part of him seemed to come alive.

Still, his current mana was nowhere near what it had been when he fought Alfred.

The effects of consuming the young dragon’s heart had already faded.

That temporary boost was gone.

So was the tremendous increase in mana that had come with it.

But Victor himself was different now.

He wasn’t the same person who had fought Alfred.

Even without the young dragon’s heart empowering him, his mana had become far denser.

Stronger.

More refined.

The energy circulating through his body now was considerably more powerful than what he had possessed during his first battle with Alfred.

Victor slowly narrowed his golden eyes.

Then his Zenith Aura erupted.

The entirety of it surged from within him and wrapped around his body like an invisible layer of armor.

His mana and Zenith Aura intertwined.

For a brief moment, Victor’s presence became overwhelming.

The pressure filling the cave intensified.

Evelyne’s eyes widened.

She could feel the difference immediately.

Victor had changed.

His presence alone felt completely different from moments ago.

Diana remained silent.

Her red eyes stayed fixed on Victor, carefully following every movement he made.

But even after releasing his full strength, Victor didn’t suddenly gain the upper hand.

Fean moved.

Victor reacted.

A fist tore through the space between them.

Victor twisted his body at the last possible moment.

The fist passed dangerously close to his face.

He barely avoided it.

The next attack came immediately.

Victor moved again.

His feet had barely touched the ground before he was forced to change direction.

Another strike.

Another dodge.

Another attack followed before he could even catch his breath.

Victor’s increase in strength had certainly helped.

He could perceive Fean’s movements a little more clearly now.

His reactions were faster.

His body responded sooner.

Attacks that would have grazed him before could now be avoided by the narrowest of margins.

But that was all.

It still wasn’t enough.

Victor couldn’t turn the battle around.

Fean remained faster.

Stronger.

More overwhelming.

Even with every ounce of his current power flowing through his body, Victor still couldn’t find a reliable opening.

There was simply no room for a proper counterattack.

Victor’s brows tightened.

He ducked beneath another punch.

Fean’s fist swept over his head.

The wind pressure alone made Victor’s hair whip backward.

Victor immediately retreated.

He had barely created a little distance when Fean was already there again.

Another attack came.

Victor shifted sideways.

The fist missed him by inches.

A third attack followed before he could even settle his footing.

Victor’s eyes sharpened.

He moved again.

And again.

There was no time to think.

No time to hesitate.

Every moment was decided by instinct.

One wrong movement would be enough.

One mistake could end everything.

He blocked it with his forearm.

The impact sent him sliding backward across the stone floor.

His boots carved shallow marks into the ground.

Victor steadied himself.

His breathing was heavier now.

Yet his expression wasn’t one of frustration.

Instead, the smile on his face grew.

He was having fun.

Every time Fean attacked, Victor had to make a decision.

Move left.

Move right.

Duck.

Retreat.

Block.

There was no room for hesitation.

The slightest mistake would mean taking the full force of Fean’s attack.

Victor could feel the danger with every passing second.

And somehow, that made the battle even more thrilling.

He had already accepted that he couldn’t find the perfect opportunity to counterattack.

So why keep waiting for one?

Victor’s eyes flashed.

’If I can’t find the perfect chance to counter, then I just need to attack!’

The thought was simple.

Almost reckless.

But it suited him.

Victor had always been more comfortable moving forward than waiting passively for his opponent to make a mistake.

He had spent enough time dodging.

Enough time defending.

Now he wanted to attack.

Fean appeared before him again.

Victor didn’t retreat.

The possessed man’s fist came directly toward him.

Victor deliberately took the attack head-on.

Boom!

The impact struck his body.

Pain exploded through his chest.

For an instant, Victor felt as though his innards were being shaken violently enough to force their way out.

His body was pushed backward.

His feet dragged across the ground.

A metallic taste filled his mouth.

His muscles screamed.

But Victor didn’t care.
