Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1824: Preparation For the Final Strike

Chapter 1824: Preparation For the Final Strike

Wang Wei’s target in the Spiritual Garden was not the growing herbs, but the soil nourished by Saint Blood and the techniques of growing these herbs. In truth, he didn’t touch a single one of the unfinished Saint herbs, and he only took 40% of the soil. He did not believe his actions could be kept from the Tribunal Lords, but as long as he doesn’t touch the second-step resources and still leaves most of the first-step ones, he can get away with this heist.

The next target was the treasury. Another hiccup appeared in the form of a 6-pillar Saint blocking Wang Wei’s way. He tried dealing with the issue the same way he dealt with the Spiritual Garden’s Guardian. However, this one seemed to have learned from his predecessor’s mistake and used the array’s power to confront Wang Wei.

Knowing time was of the essence, Wang Wei did not hesitate to activate one of Maitreya’s secret techniques to boost his strength at the cost of reducing the time he could spend with her powers. The upcoming plan requires one more Saint, and this one arrived at the right time. Although his captivity came at a price, Wang Wei still made a calculated decision.

After entering the treasury, Wang Wei followed the same formula: he took 40% of the weapons, 40% of the herbs, 40% of the talismans, and everything else. And with the knowledge he had previously gathered during his time as the Holy Son, he knew how to choose the best. Once he finished with his plundering, Wang Wei did not immediately leave. Instead, he gazed at the array blocking the way to the second-step items.

"I know you’re there and can hear me," Wang Wei stated. "I need 2 second-step items: one that contains Anti-Divination or Anti-Detection property and the other that can protect the soul or enhance the spirit/willpower. Hand them over, and I won’t make things difficult for you."

Ten seconds passed, and no one answered. Half a minute went by, and the only sound in the room was the roar of battle outside. Wang Wei did not utter another word and began acting. Borrowing a few materials from the treasury, he started laying out a Heaven Deception Array. With some maneuvering, he should be able to deceive the array for a nanosecond — which is more than enough to enter.

"You should know that it’s only a matter of time before I succeed. By then, out of spite, I’ll rip your head out and use your skull as a wine cup."

The silence continued, but the tension intensified. These two people — who had met for the first time — were locked in a battle of the mind; however, the one who succumbed to pressure first would lose. If the guardian can last long enough, someone will detect the intruder and eliminate him. But if Wang Wei’s plan succeeds, a fate worse than death awaits the guardian.

"It seems you’re not afraid of humiliation," Wang Wei smiled. "But you should be afraid of death. Once I get my hands on you, I seal you and send your body into a clash of second-step powerhouses, using the [Existence Hierarchy] to eliminate you."

"...Holy Son, do you have to do this?"

"Your sect is doomed. Give me what I want, and after that, I recommend you run away from here. You may have a chance to survive. But don’t take anything. These people only came for resources. If too much of it is gone, they’ll hunt you to the ends of the earth."

No one spoke for a few seconds, but then, a subtle fluctuation flashed in the room. Wang Wei glanced at the floor to see two boxes. He flickered his wrist, and they flew into his hand. The first one contained a crystal with the power of fate; to be specific, anti-divination properties. The second one was a black flower that instantly made Wang Wei’s soul scream in joy.

A smile crept into the corner of his mouth; the older someone is, the more afraid of death they are. Back in the primordial timeline, Saints are rare, so most [Immortals] have no fear of death because killing them is so difficult. But in this world where Tribunal Lords reigned supreme, the fear of death is prevalent for Primordial Chaos Saints.

Wang Wei left the treasury; the next destination was the holy land’s secret realms. This sect had many unique tools and settings to help its disciples train. Unfortunately, Wang Wei couldn’t take any of them. Trying to move these dimensions would create too much noise and draw attention to himself. The worst part is that even the items within these dimensions were connected to the entire thing, meaning Wang Wei couldn’t take something like the Saint Will Monument without moving the entire secret realm it’s in.

However, although he couldn’t take these things away, there is no issue with scanning and recording them to replicate them later. In some ways, Wang Wei’s copy approach was better for the sect than directly stealing these secret realms. While bringing them home would directly strengthen the Dao Opening Sect’s foundation, the process of replicating these items is also a way for the sect to improve.

If the sect directly took all the Heaven Splitting Holy Land’s methods to nurture Saints but lacked the ability to refine them themselves, what would happen if they lost these things? What would happen if the sect had to relocate and needed to reproduce these high-level training secret realms in the new location?

With this conviction, Wang Wei soon finished his work; he stored all the information gathered in these crystals, which could perfectly replicate the data he had gathered through the scan. Finally, Wang Wei teleported to the last location before starting his plan: the Holy Son Mansion.

"Lord," Fangjin bowed.

"You seem to be expecting me," Wang Wei said.

"It’s my job to predict what the Lord desires."

"What a beautiful and tragic creature," Wang Wei commented. Now, in his eyes, Fangjin had no secret. "A race created purely to be the best servant. Your mind, soul, Dao, and even Dao Heart were crafted to better serve a master. Many people may see your existence and purpose of serving someone else as tragic, but that’s not the awful part of your existence.

"Your kind’s tragedy is that you were created to serve a master, but your creator forces you to remain obedient to him. As a result, no matter how good you are at your job — no matter how well you perform at what you were created to do — you can never be truly fulfilled since you can never be 100% loyal to any of your masters."

A pained expression flashed in Fangjin’s eyes. For years, the Holy Land has used its race as a tactic to deal with its enemy. As a result, the Attendant Race has become more valuable as an asset, but the collective suffering of their race has only increased.

The greatest fear of every member of that race is to serve a non-Holy Land member. As long as they follow a disciple or elder of the sect, they can lie to themselves and live with the knowledge that they will never have to betray their masters as long as their masters do not betray the holy land. However, when dealing with enemies or adversaries, the Attendant race knows to prepare for the nightmare.

"Do it, master. Death is a release for me."

"It seems you don’t know as much as you think," Wang Wei smiled.

"You won’t kill me?"

"Your ability is too valuable. I can’t resist the temptation."

"Are you saying I can truly serve you?" Fangjin controlled himself to prevent his voice from choking.

"In a manner of speaking."

"Good, good, good. As long as I can dutifully serve you, I don’t care in what shape or form it takes place."

Wang Wei raised his hand, and Fangjin turned into a cube, smaller than a marble ball, on his palm. Fangjin was happy too soon. The Attendant Race’s ability was too unique and powerful, so Wang Wei already planned to try to recreate them to use for his advantage. As for Fangjin himself, he’ll have Wang Qi absorb him after double-checking that nothing was wrong with the latter’s [Existence].

With a thought, Wang Wei summoned the second-step Anti-Divination Crystal. In his previous state of paranoia, he covered the mansion in billions of Heaven Deception Array, and now, he was going to put them to use. Using the crystal as the core, he linked all the arrays to it, amplifying their effects. Wang Wei then rearranged all the smaller arrays into a larger and more potent Heaven Deception Array.

Next, he activated another array that sent the entire mansion into the void. By now, Wang Wei was confident that most Tribunal Lords could not detect his presence; he was truly out of sight. Now, he only has one final preparation before he can launch the plan.
