Chapter 1671: Three Flower Nirvana
Chapter 1671: Three Flower Nirvana
"This is a serious situation," Wu Hong muttered as she slowly ran her hand through Wang Wei’s hair as he cozily lay on her lap. There is no place between Heaven and Earth he would rather be, especially during such times of distress.
"I know, right?"
"How about I go with you?"
"Absolutely not," Wang Wei objected without an ounce of hesitation. It’s already bad enough that he was forced into participating in this event beyond his capabilities, so there is no way he would allow the people he cared about to suffer with him.
"What’s with your tone?"
"Wife, please listen to me this time," Wang Wei sighed. "Your presence will not change anything. So, instead of putting your life in danger, let me figure something out."
"I can still activate the Dao Quintessence and acquire the strength for us to escape."
"And ruin your future?"
"Then, what’s your plan?"
"The same as yours," Wang Wei said. "If I can condense my own Dao Quintessence, then I’ll have a way to escape a Primordial Saint."
Wu Hong frowned. "There is only 10,000 Yuan Epoch left, with then ten times the acceleration in a formation, that’s 100,000. Is that enough time? Especially since you still need to master two Grand Constructs."
"I don’t know," Wang Wei admitted. Qiyuan, Yan Hai, and even Maitreya have been trying for years to condense their flawed Dao Quintessence, but so far, no one has succeeded. As confident as Wang Wei was in his talent, he also understood his limits.
"Those are not reassuring words."
"I’m aware, hence why I also have a Plan B."
"Oh?"
"The cardinal hinted that there is a way for an avatar to ignore the [Existence Hierarchy]. I want to see if I can get such a method," Wang Wei explained.
"How? Did Maitreya know something?"
"No, I secretly asked, and she had no idea. I plan to finally retrieve that token for the Impertinence Society and see if they know something."
"What about the possibility of the avatar escaping?"
"That’s a risk I’m willing to take," Wang Wei acknowledged. An escape avatar is just a more dangerous alternate self, with the only difference being the fact that the avatar might be able to freely enter and exit the Primordial Timeline. However, it must do so while hiding from Wang Wei’s hunt.
"I don’t like this situation at all."
"No one does," Wang Wei sighed as he slowly lifted his upper body. "Time is of the essence, so let’s not waste it." He stood and stretched his body. "What’s your situation?"
"My main body is almost finished making up for the Emperor Taboo Battle Realm. Once she’s done, she will complete the first half of the Alpha-Omega Foundation before leaving for the Infinite Trichiliocosm."
"Are you sure that’s a good idea? You’ll be in constant pain?" Wang Wei asked.
"I want to immediately become SSS-Class as soon as the Omega Rune is completed," Wu Hong explained. "Plus, I can use this opportunity to nurture a Pain Rune."
"Want to share the pain? My Pain Innate Talent has been useless for a while, and this may be a good opportunity to improve it."
"No need."
"Alright, but do you still need my help to divine safe timelines?"
"Yes," Wu Hong nodded.
"Good. When you’re ready, send me a talisman." He kissed her before teleporting away. His destination was not his retreat room, but the Divination Department to use the Weave. Wang Wei wanted to check if he could predict his next Time Nexus. Unfortunately, his attempt failed; he’ll only learn of their existence when they are closed.
Ever since he entered the Immortal Realm, most of Wang Wei’s Time Nexus has been during his cultivation breakthroughs or thresholds, meaning mastering the six Grand Constructs should be one of them. But he hasn’t received any signs or warnings as of now. More importantly, he was clueless whether one would appear during this counterattack.
’Let’s just prepare for the worst and wait and see what happens,’ Wang We reassured himself as he returned to his seclusion. He summoned one of his [Proxy Avatar] and sent it to the Pure Inferno World. The merit from the sect arrived, so he prepared to start his cultivation. However, a talisman from Maitreya arrived.
"A decent gift," Wang Wei muttered as he read the content. The talisman contained a longevity technique called [Three Flower Nirvana] that granted three extra lives. Wang Wei could tell it was probably created from Monk Wuzhi’s unique physique, which was something he also planned to do. However, with Saint’s [Existence Hierarchy] and the vast utilization of No Life Iron, he was greatly discouraged.
Kong finished reassuring his son and disciples, finally leaving time to reflect on all the crucial information he’d recently received. The focus was on the foundation pillars and their significance. ’I didn’t expect the Taboo Battle Realms to be so vital. Luckily, there is still time to make up for them.’
He has no regret about his decision to skip the Empyrean Taboo Battle Realm. Had he not done that, even if Wang Wei still refused the position of Chosen One, Heavenly Dao would not have even considered him next due to his low cultivation realm. Everything he has previously experienced has proven that he has made the right choice: being at the center of this disaster has its rewards as long as he can survive the challenges.
’Now that I know the importance of accomplishment, I must become the leader of Literary Way before I sanctify. And if possible, I should also get my hands on the Heavenly Emperor Title,’ Kong schemed. The former was feasible, but the latter required more effort and some luck.
’Hmm?’ A talisman descended from the void, and Kong caught it. ’[Three Flower Nirvana]? It could become useful for the invasion.’ With a concrete plan, Kong handed his work as a Grand Marshall to Paragon Nine Death before entering a cultivation retreat. Becoming a Primal took precedence over everything else.
Investigation Department:
Lin Fan sealed the room with a formation. "The cardinal didn’t notice anything, right?"
"Don’t worry. I took care of everything — including how you almost made a strange facial expression when he appeared," Hundunxi explained.
"You can’t blame me for that." The cardinal appeared out of nowhere, and the fear that his secrets might be revealed overrode all control and instincts of his body.
"Anyway, you need to join that mission."
"Why?"
"Aren’t you the one who suggested approaching Wang Wei and discovered his relationship with Pangu and Hongjun? Now that he will be away from that Saint, it’s the perfect time to execute your plan."
"That’s true, but I don’t need to overthink to realize this is not the full extent of your plans."
"There is nothing to hide," Hundunxi stated. "This event might contain something that can help me return to my peak. Furthermore, I’ve been severely restricted while under Mother’s eyes. Her powers should not be as absolute in that timeline, leaving much room to breathe."
"Is there anything in particular you would like to do? Tell me now so I can assess the level of danger and prepare."
"Why are you worried? I’m here, am I not?"
"I don’t like the idea of putting all my safety in someone else’s hands," Lin Fan replied. "And I’m assuming the cardinals will take part in this battle, meaning you won’t be able to reveal as much power as you think."
"Fair enough," Hundunxi nodded. "I want you to investigate what happened to us in that timeline — well, assuming we exist. And if we do, I also want to start investigating what happened to Pangu and Hongju. Maybe their fate on that timeline can shed light on their situation in ours."
"That sounds dangerous."
"Don’t worry. Until I have another vessel, you cannot die even if you wish to." Those words only made Lin Fan groan. It’s really not a good thing to deal with these higher beings.
Heavenly Art Division:
"You must take part in this mission?" Siwangji stated.
"Why would I want to jump into such a dangerous pit?"
"My brother will, without a doubt, participate."
"Your reason?"
"Such an event is a great opportunity to recuperate his strength," Siwangji explained. "Whether it’s to absorb energy from the blood of these Saints, or become enlightened by watching their fights and using the epiphany to nourish the soul, they are all methods he can use to recuperate."
"And it’s probably the same for you, too," Xu Shi added.
"Yes. Widescale death will probably occur, which is a great nourishment for my injuries."
Xu Shi pondered briefly. "Let’s see if Fan’er chooses to participate. I’m also going to need you to guarantee my safety."
"That’s a given."
Xu Shi’s facial expression remained neutral, making it impossible to determine whether she believed the Chaos Demon Gods’ words or not. "Have you considered bringing your sister as an ally?"
"Sister? You mean Life?"
"Yes. Maybe she can help."
"I don’t want to bring her into this mess," Siwangji said. "More importantly, I/m afraid she would take Big Brother’s side?"
"Oh? I thought you guys were like twins."
"We kind of are, but you cannot fathom how much power Hundunxi has over our clan. Even after so many years and how dysfunctional we became during our imprisonment, his words contain a lot of weight."
"I see," Xu Shi nodded.
