Chapter 1615: Number One
Chapter 1615: Number One
Now that she was in the presence of the genuine Heavenly Dao Library, this was an opportunity to use its full power and learn a few secrets. However, as she or Ying Zheng — who also wanted to record a few truths — were about to act, the cloud at the center of this world that housed Heavenly Dao’s Will acted swiftly and kicked them out.
’I can resist,’ Wu Hong thought as she returned to the Void Battlefield. Unlike how powerless they were in the underworld, she realized she could at least struggle a little bit from Heavenly Dao’s might. Additionally, there were no injuries or warnings in the process.
’Her power should be around three foundations,’ Wu Hong thought. ’However, given how Supreme Unity was able to force it into such a miserable state, I reckon it used to be weaker. However, the slow completion of this world’s destiny has increased its power.’
A frown was slowly plastered on Wu Hong’s face. The idea that Heavenly Dao would slowly improve as the Eternal Ascension World becomes the Chaos Universe’s Destiny Center was expected, but the issue was how strong will it become? No powerful cultivator liked the idea of an overseer standing above their heads, which is why many Paragons choose to live in Non-Source Chaos Worlds because they can bully Heavenly Dao as they wish.
’Let’s leave the issue for later,’ Wu Hong thought before concentrating on Ying Zheng. She squinted. "You’re tired."
Ying Zheng calmly looked at her. "You speak a lot of nonsense."
"I’ve been waiting for you to reach your limit. It’s time to end this," Wu Hong continued. He tried really hard to hide it, but her senses detected how hard he was controlling his muscles to alleviate the pain. Above all, the very subtle instability in his soul aura revealed the state he was in.
[Elemental Chaos]
Wu Hong motioned with her hand to summon the purest power of Primordial Chaos before separating it into the Five Elements and Yin-Yang. She then further divided Yin-Yang into Light and Darkness. She rotated the Five Elements to create subsidiary elements, such as wind and lightning. Of course, these were not the base elements, but the chaotic form as they exist at the beginning of the universe.
Nine large orbs manifested above the sky, and under Wu Hong’s control, they exploded. First, the Void Battlefield was plunged into absolute darkness, but then an intense purifying light spread to every corner. As the light abated, a raging storm ravaged everything. The winds cut and blew everything in their path before turning into these black tornadoes.
Purple lightning rained from the sky as if the wrath of Heaven — no, the Wrath of the Chaos — was trying to eliminate a blasphemous existence. The combination of wind and lightning was terrible enough, but this was just the beginning. One of the lightning strikes generated a small white flame around Ying Zheng. At first, the flame was small and unnoticeable, but by the time the storm had slowed down, it had turned into a sea.
The Chaos Wind fanned the white Chaos Flame, turning it into a force of pure destruction. It spread everywhere before combusting for even greater devastation. Ying Zheng, who was at the center of this devastation, did not look too good, but this was just the beginning of the technique. After the flame died down, its ashes slowly solidified into this thick gray earth.
Upon conception, the first thing the earth did was release a devastating gravity that caused immense fluctuation in the River of Time. The gravity tried to crush everything in its vicinity, acting as if it would not stop until every concept associated with existing was eliminated. But, like all things, the gravity eventually stopped.
The Chaos Earth then started to grow countless golden spikes with unparalleled sharpness. Thousands of spatial tears manifested in the Void Battlefield as the tips of these spikes were too sharp and tore the very fabric of space-time apart. Heavenly Dao was lucky there were only a few thousand of them.
The advent of Chaos Metals was devastating, as their sharpness was designed to penetrate all resistance and defenses. However, the elemental chaos was not completed. The metals eventually melted into this silver-gold ocean with unparalleled weight and density. The sea turned into the largest wave possible before crashing into Ying Zheng. After being hit with something that contained the weight of a significant portion of Primordial Chaos, the Qin Emperor was sent flying into Primordial Chaos despite his best efforts.
’Well, I guess that’s progress,’ Wu Hong said as she looked around. She controlled most of the power, so this time, only her soul was accidentally teleported to Primordial Chaos. She glanced at Ying Zheng, who was trying to regain his bearing amidst the chaos, and yanked him back into the Void Battlefield. The process added additional damage, but that’s the price to pay for not controlling his power in the Quintessence Realm.
As Ying Zheng returned, he finally confronted the last bit of the elemental chaos. The silver-gold ocean merged with the gray earth to give rise to thousands of these gargantuan, silver-white trees with faces on their trunks. After smirking a little, the tree wailed on Ying Zheng as if he either owed them money or had done something truly heinous to their kind.
Unfortunately, just like all things in the world, everything — no matter how beautiful or tragic — must come to an end. The attack was finished, leaving Ying Zheng disheveled. He stood straight, a feeble display of his pride. His golden armor and swords were damaged beyond repair; he was missing one eye, and he continued to bleed from his eyes, nose, and ears. A black dragon with purple horns and silver-white lines on its back, twelve legs, and deep blue eyes surrounded and protected him as if he were the most precious and divine existence between Heaven and Earth.
Wu Hong squinted as he looked at the dragon. ’This aura — it reminded me of those things that escape the gate. Is this a projection of a Chaos Demon God?’ The Fate Rune flashed in her eyes. ’The Luck Chaos Demon God? Well, that explains the situation of Qi Luck.’
Why was the Qi Luck of all creatures or factions in the form of a dragon? Innate Demons and Demons boast that it was because dragons were the mightiest lifeform — the epitome of creation. However, most races scoffed at that, given that humans and Fiendgods currently rule the Chaos Universe. Today, Wu Hong understood the reason.
The very first creature to be called a dragon was the Luck Chaos Demon God. Sometimes during the Essence Age, as the Grand Dao restarted civilization, she used its design as a representation of luck in the Chaos Universe. The Innate Demons just benefited from this act.
After figuring out this mystery, Wu Hong continued her battle. She raised her hand to summon this white light of the purest of Qi; she did not choose any energy with characteristics or elemental affinity, only drawing the purest Qi from the Source Qi Space. The goal was purity and extreme concentration.
However, as she reached the limit she could control, Wu Hong was not satisfied. She wanted to end this fight with one attack, and this energy ball did not seem potent enough. So, she used one of the techniques Wang Wei once discovered in the lower dimension: the Critical Hit Path.
’Hm?’ Wu Hong discovered her spirit had unknowingly connected to this unknown framework composed of numerous moving strings. At first, it was hard for her to capture the swift movement of these strings, but upon concentrating, they slowed down and discovered there were layers; three to be exact, but she could only access the first two.
’So, that’s what it leads to,’ Wu Hong thought as a look of realization dawned on her. ’I’m glad it’s not too late.’ She first tried to follow the trajectory of the second layer of strings, but immediately felt a headache, so she lowered her spirit to the first layer. After a quick calculation, her soul followed the proper trajectory, and an unknown power was infused into her Dao Imprint, drastically boosting her technique. The white energy ball, and in less than a second, a quarter of the Void Battlefield was annihilated.
"You can’t escape, you bastard," Wu Hong suddenly yelled as she summoned a seal toward the butterfly carrying away Ying Zheng’s soul. However, as she was about to succeed, a terrifying headache discombobulated her. Then, just like Ying Zheng, her orifices started to bleed.
’Damn it,’ Wu Hong cursed as she swallowed numerous pills to stabilize herself. ’Call yourself lucky.’ After exhaling to calm down, the 3800 seals returned to their normal state, and her aura slowly climbed down. Wu Hong finally teleported home.
Wang Wei’s eyes shone with a brilliant light, and he immediately stood up. "Are you alri—"
"My name is Ying Zheng, the Human Emperor," a voice boomed between Heaven and Earth. "While I’m prideful, I know when to give others their due. In my name as the Heavenly Emperor, I now proclaim, Empress Wu, as the Eternal Ascension World’s strongest Primal."
Heaven and Earth resonated with his words and celebrated with a grand vision with the Origin Seal Continent at the center. A light descended from the sky to present a white-gold phoenix crown in front of Wu Hong, asking her if she accepted this title.
"This bastard," Wang Wei said with gritted teeth. His body released a killing intent unlike anything he’s ever released before. The disaster was coming, so what did such a title represent? A big fat target. The first thing a competent invader would do is eliminate people who can pose a threat to their conquest. And that’s not mentioning the jealousy and envy of other Primals. These people might accept the title now, but who knew what kind of betrayal they would commit if the opportunity arose?
"I’m going to kill this bastard," he said with gritted teeth.
