Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1612: Fate’s Favor

Chapter 1612: Fate’s Favor

Ying Zheng squinted. "Yes, your talent has always been the envy of the world, and you are a daughter of luck, so I shouldn’t be surprised you’ve already reached this far. However, this will not change anything."

"If you say so," Wu Hong replied calmly. As she was about to resume the fight, she suddenly sensed something and looked in the distance. Song Luli was defeated.

"I didn’t expect Lie Peiqi’s departure, but it seems fate favored my rise," Ying Zheng smiled. Wu Hong was not surprised. The difference between her and Bai Qi was too vast, and she hoped that she would last a bit longer. The sad thing is, the outcome would have been the same whether she chose either of the twins.

Wu Hong secretly sighed. This failure reminded her that her continent’s foundation was still among the weakest, and it’s somehow worse with Lie Peiqi’s departure. Luckily, she still has the Nurture Core, and with the exchange list, the twins should grow at a rapid pace.

"Is this worry I sense?"

"Why would I be worried?" Wu Hong said calmly.

"Really? I want to know how you’re going to stop Bai Qi," Ying Zheng smirked.

"My man is there, isn’t he?"

"That twerp? What can he do?" Ying Zheng sneered.

"You’ll know soon." Wu Hong was no longer in the mood to speak. She activated the skill: Rune Domain. She teleported before Ying Zheng and punched him with a Destruction Rune engraved on her knuckle. This strike not only contained the purest form of destruction, but also the force from Wu Hong’s terrifying power.

[Law Nullification]

[Power Nullification]

Ying Zheng dominated Heaven and Earth, forcing reality to bend to his will. An unknown force emanated from his body, attempting to nullify the domain. However, the [Nullification Rune] materialized with that force, and with a wave, Wu Hong controlled and cancelled its effect.

Boom!

The punch pushed Ying Zheng a few light years away, and to his horror, a crack the length of two fingers spread into his armor. ’Has she figured out the armor’s secret so fast? Damn it.’ He expected a person whose Dao was based on knowledge to figure it out, but he thought he would have much more time.

[Law Calamity]

Three thousand eight hundred orb manifested around Ying Zheng, each representing one of the fundamental Grand Dao Sources. The orbs combined to release a power of annihilation; this power was raw and chaotic, thus elevating its destructive properties. However, before this power could spread and cause true destruction, they were deconstructed into 3800 well-controlled runes.

Ying Zheng was not surprised by this outcome. His plan from the get-go was to slow her down as she analyzed, classified, and controlled the more than three thousand runes. He prepared to release his following attack when he sensed the Grand Preceptor had joined the other battlefield.

’Fate is truly in my favor today,’ Ying Zheng thought happily as he changed his attack: [Emotion Manipulation: Anxiety Boost]. He cultivated the Dragon Sovereign Dao, a unique Dao that combines the symbolic nature of dragons — creatures that represent luck and Heaven-mandated rulers/sovereigns — with manipulation/control, and destiny.

Even in the Prehistoric World, Ying Zheng was infatuated with the dragon and even ordered that one of his titles be the Ancestral Dragon. So, when he was reincarnated, he took the opportunity to fulfill his ambition and chose them as his main path.

A slight worry flashed in Wu Hong’s eyes, but before it could spread, her nine-layer pagoda released a calming rune into her Sea of Consciousness, easily soothing her mind. She sent a direct transmission to Wang Wei: "Activate the Last Resort Protection Mode." Speaking these words and sending the information took a fraction of a second, but in a battle of such high caliber, this was more than enough.

[Divine Punishment Authority]

A dense purple cloud materialized in the sky before releasing an enormous beam of Immemorial Tribulation Lightning. This single concentrated attack brought the full wrath of Heaven and Earth, trying to eradicate anyone who dared confront it. Unfortunately, it met a person capable of challenging its existence.

[Seal World]

Wu Hong raised her hand to conjure a black cube that instantly swallowed the beam and the cloud. She snapped her finger to conjure thousands of smaller cubes around Ying Zheng, but the latter felt the danger and immediately escaped. However, Wu Hong was a few steps ahead of him. A karmic line connected to the black cube manifested, and she yanked him.

Ying Zheng reacted fast enough to cut off the thread, but his action activated a hidden Freezing Rune. His body paused for less than a second, but it was enough for one of the cubes to swallow him. The other cubes then combined to form a much larger shape, and that’s how Ying Zheng’s nightmare started.

These cubes were not just seals, but unique, inescapable worlds designed to kill. The very first seal world contained an Immemorial Wind. While the Immemorial Tribulation of most Chaos Worlds manifested in the shape of lightning, many used other elements. Wu Hong captured one of these elements and used it to build that world.

Ying Zheng used a 6-tier Escape Grand Construct Skill that turned him into a black dragon to escape those damn winds, but to his horror, he found himself in an even dangerous place. A sea of flame created from a Void Flame hung above his head. And this "void" was not the spatial kind, but the one from the power of nothingness. The Qin Sovereign did not know whether she created this flame or found it somewhere, but that did not matter.

The only thing on his mind was to escape. The silver-white sea flame started releasing droplets, which made Ying Zheng’s heart skip a beat. A small dragon manifested above Ying Zheng’s palm. At first, it made the character for zero, before swiftly increasing: 0...1...2...45...78...93...100.

What was the probability that a technique created by a being like Wu Hong would malfunction and leave a loophole to escape? The answer is astronomically low, or even zero, but like all individuals who can control luck and probability, these numbers hold no significance for them.

A void tear materialized in front of Ying Zheng, and he rushed inside without hesitating. However, the backlash for messing with probability on such a large scale and against such a mighty force resulted in a powerful explosion that spat out Ying Zheng into another seal world, with a crack on his armor as long as a forearm.

Ying Zheng quickly dismissed the disorientation from the explosion to explore his surroundings. He was in a poorly lit area with a translucent being standing before him. It took him a moment to recognize that the stranger smiling at him had his same visage and body shape. And as soon as he laid eyes on him, Ying Zheng fell into an illusion.

He saw himself kneeling on a ruin of Great Qin as Hongjun coldly sneered at him. Then, the latter ripped out his soul and refined it into nourishment. Ying Zheng screamed as the fear overwhelmed his mind; the illusion was so intense that it started affecting his soul. Luckily, just as his spirit and eventually his soul were about to collapse, a dragon roar spread throughout his Sea of Consciousness.

As he regained consciousness, Ying Zheng recognized that the person in front of him was a Heart Devil; to be specific, he was created by combining hundreds, if not more, Heart Devils into this supreme creature of temptation. Such an existence was the best way to temper the Dao Heart, but it would also be a nightmare if used as a weapon.

"Be gone!" Ying Zheng roared. His body released a white light that contained a tinge of Buddha’s Holy Power, scattering the Supreme Heart Devil.

"Nice try," a voice echoed from all directions of this world. "Anyway, let’s continue our work. You have a lot of fears and distrust. How about we address why?"

Ying Zheng stumbled in the void. He sensed a terrifying power rapidly corrupting his spirit. His fears and worries were magnified and used against him. ’Damn you, woman, I’ll make you pay for this.’

Boom!

His body released a golden light as a golden body manifested above his head. Ying Zheng had cultivated a golden body of merit — albeit it was only the first rank. With the Sage’s power to ward off evil, Ying Zheng became clearer, allowing him to analyze his situation and think of an escape plan.

’There are only two ways I can escape this seal: use the pendant or sacrifice my armor to burst out.’ He observed around and divined a few information. ’The armor is not enough to break through.’ That only left him with one option, but Ying Zheng felt suffocated thinking he was forced to use his trump card so quickly.

However, he was nothing but a decision. Just as he was about to act, a terrifying power spread throughout the Eternal Ascension World, and the world seemed to stop functioning for everybody except for Paragons. Ying Zheng did not know what was happening, but that did not stop him from using the opportunity to escape.
