I've Divorced Your Sister, Why Are You Still Here?
Chapter 156: Peeking at Him Bathing
Chapter 156 -134: Peeking at Him Bathing
Xiao Ran couldn’t spare a second to worry. He grabbed her arm and pulled her gently into his embrace, then decisively wrapped his other arm around her waist. With a powerful kick of his legs, he used his one free arm to swim furiously toward the shore.
Xu Cheng was completely stunned, taking a full three seconds to react. Then, without a word, he ran to the part of the shore closest to them, ready to help with the rescue.
Meanwhile, in the private room, Zhang Chuan, who had been casually cracking melon seeds while watching the livestream, stared at his phone screen, his jaw practically on the floor.
“What the fuck, what’s happening?!”
‘How did a perfectly normal flex stream suddenly turn into an underwater one?’
Li Yuan, who was beside him, also exclaimed in shock, “Wow, that’s a great phone! It can even livestream from underwater!”
Zhang Chuan’s heart clenched. He shot her a look like she was an idiot. ‘Is that really what’s important right now?’
He shot up from his seat and ran out of the private room.
‘Someone definitely fell in the water!’
Fortunately, Xiao Ran was fast. Within seconds, both of their heads had broken the surface of the water.
Seeing the two of them gradually approaching the shore, Zhang Chuan finally breathed a sigh of relief. His heart, which had been about to leap out of his throat, settled back into his chest.
He hurried over to Xu Cheng, grabbing the nearby railing with one hand and Xu Cheng with the other to keep him from being pulled in by the pair.
Fortunately, it was an artificial lake used for fish farming, so it wasn’t very large. In less than two minutes, they had reached the shore.
Seeing Xiao Ran swim closer, Xu Cheng stretched his hand out as far as he could so Xiao Ran could grab it.
Xiao Ran didn’t try to climb out first. Instead, he said to the terrified girl in his arms, “It’s okay, you’re safe now. You go first.”
Yan Xici was both terrified and wracked with guilt. ‘It’s all my fault for not listening. If I had just listened to Brother Xiao Ran and not tried to film that video, none of this would have happened!’
‘And now look what I’ve done, I dragged Brother Xiao Ran into the water with me.’
‘I really am a jinx!’
Hearing Xiao Ran’s words, she nodded quickly. Without a second’s hesitation, she grabbed Xu Cheng’s hand and started to pull herself up.
Xiao Ran boosted her from behind, pushing up on her soft butt to help her get out more smoothly.
With one pulling and the other pushing, the two of them finally managed to get the girl onto the shore.
Only then did Xiao Ran offer his hand to Xu Cheng. With a bit of effort from his other arm, he pulled himself up onto the bank as well.
Having fallen in the water, the girl was now soaked from head to toe. Even her eyelashes were matted together in wet clumps, and her eyes shone with a startling brightness.
With the corner of her lip trembling, she threw herself into Xiao Ran’s arms and held on for dear life.
They say a disaster reveals a person’s true character, and that’s no lie. While this wasn’t exactly a disaster, in that moment, she was profoundly moved by Xiao Ran.
‘She must have saved the entire galaxy in a past life to have met someone who was so good to her.’
“I’m sorry, it was all my fault for not listening.” She tilted her head up, her eyes filled with guilt as she looked at him. Water droplets still clung to her fair cheeks and her hair, and her voice, trembling with shock, was simply heart-wrenching to hear.
“It’s all my fault. I promise I’ll listen to you from now on.”
‘I’ll never ignore his advice again!’
The more she thought about it, the more terrified she became. ‘What if he hadn’t been able to save me? Or what if, while he was saving me…’
Yan Xici didn’t dare let her thoughts go any further.
Xiao Ran held Yan Xici, gently stroking her head with one hand. “There, there, it’s okay. It’s not your fault. It was my fault for not being more careful.”
‘I knew she couldn’t swim. I shouldn’t have let her come fishing with me in the first place, much less let her film. And now look what happened—she went right into the water along with the camera.’
‘Thank god nothing serious happened, or I’d really be the one wracked with guilt.’
Yan Xici let the warmth swell in her chest, hugging Xiao Ran as if she could never hold him enough, her face pressed tightly against his.
Xu Cheng stared in disbelief at Yan Xici, who was clinging to Xiao Ran with both arms, her phone still in a death grip in her hand. “Xici, is your phone even still usable?”
The phone had been submerged for quite a while; it was probably toast.
At his words, Yan Xici finally snapped back to reality. She quickly let go of Xiao Ran and repeated, “My… my phone?”
‘After everything that just happened, how could she possibly have been thinking about her phone? She’d completely forgotten about it!’
Seeing this, Zhang Chuan couldn’t help but laugh. “Hey sis, isn’t that your phone right there in your hand?”
‘I only ran out here because I saw her underwater livestream, after all!’
Hearing this, Yan Xici quickly looked down at her hand and instantly breathed a sigh of relief.
‘It really is in my hand!’
She had been so panicked that she had instinctively held on to what was in her hand without even realizing it.
‘What a stroke of luck!’
Xu Cheng asked with concern, “Can it… can it still stream? It’s got to be ruined by now, right…?”
Now that everyone was safe, his thoughts naturally turned back to money.
‘He’d tipped ten thousand yuan for this stream. Now she’d fallen in the water and the phone was probably broken. The more he thought about it, the more it felt like a total waste.’
Yan Xici, who was now looking at her phone, was completely stunned. Not only was the phone not broken, but it was still streaming. And because of her accident, everyone was showing immense concern, spamming the chat and pushing her straight to the top of the trending page!
Her eyes went wide as she looked at Xiao Ran in utter disbelief. “Xiao Ran, this… this is incredible!”
Yan Xici could hardly believe she wasn’t dreaming.
