I've Divorced Your Sister, Why Are You Still Here?
Chapter 151: Yan Li’s Exploding Rage
Chapter 151 -132: Yan Li’s Exploding Rage
A two-thousand-yuan fine was getting off easy.
Let them learn their lesson!
Hearing about the fine, the youngest of the group was on the verge of tears. Her monthly salary was only 3,500 yuan. If 2,000 was deducted, she’d only have 1,500 left. ‘How am I supposed to live on that?!’
“Please, President Yan, we were really wrong! We’ll never do it again, we promise!”
“That’s right, President Yan. I only make a little over four thousand a month. This fine will take almost half of it. We truly know we were wrong.”
The girl beside her quickly chimed in.
Their salaries weren’t high to begin with. A fine like this was just too cruel!
Yan Li snorted. “So now you know you’re wrong? What were you doing before?”
“President Yan…” Someone tried to speak again but was cut off by Yan Li’s harsh tone. “Let me make one thing clear. My divorce from Xiao Ran was because we weren’t compatible. If I hear anyone gossiping behind my back again, believe me, I will fire every last one of you!”
With that, she turned and walked over to the sinks, placing her hands under a faucet with deliberate slowness.
As the cold water rushed over her skin, Yan Li’s thoughts were a tangled mess.
‘I can’t believe even people in my own company know about this now. With a scandal like this, how can I possibly lead them!’
She slowly turned off the faucet and fixed her cold gaze on Feng Na, who stood behind her.
“Fine, you don’t have to pay. But you have to tell me: how many other people have seen this video?”
‘That’s what I’m most worried about right now.’
The question stumped everyone in the room.
The women exchanged glances for a moment before Feng Na quickly spoke up. “Not that many people have actually seen it, but I think a lot of people know about it. I only went to watch it because I heard other people talking about it.”
Zhao Yaru from the finance department chimed in, “It was the same in our department. Manager Zhang found it first, and then we went to watch. We ran into these guys on our way to the restroom…”
‘I wasn’t planning on saying anything, but all the stalls were occupied.’
‘We had nothing better to do, so we thought we’d discuss some office gossip. You know, to bond as colleagues.’
‘Who would have thought we’d have the bad luck of running into Yan Li!’
‘If I’d known she was coming to the restroom, I would never have said a word, not even if my life depended on it!’
Yan Li took a deep breath.
‘So, it seems quite a few people have seen it after all.’
She forced herself to remain composed, tossing out a single, icy sentence. “Worry less about things that don’t concern you.”
She turned and walked back toward her office.
The entire exchange had taken less than five minutes, but it felt as long as a century.
Back in her office, she sank into her chair, her heart still churning with embarrassment and anger.
‘This is my company. I’m the boss. How can I let my own employees mock me like this!’
‘Is there something wrong with that Yan Xici’s head?’
‘What’s this about doing a livestream with Xiao Ran?’
‘What was she thinking!?’
‘People don’t air their dirty laundry in public, but those two? It’s like they want the whole world to know about this sordid affair!’
The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. She snatched the receiver of her desk phone and called Wang Meng’s office.
She needed to see for herself just what was in this livestream that had the entire office buzzing.
Wang Meng was in the middle of snacking on a cookie when her desk phone rang. She casually picked it up.
“Hello, this is…”
Before she could finish, Yan Li’s icy voice cut through the line. “My office. Now!”
Hearing the malice in Yan Li’s tone, Wang Meng frantically swallowed the cookie in her mouth, hung up, and rushed toward her boss’s office.
The two offices were close by. Within a minute, Wang Meng pushed the door open and stepped inside.
“President Yan, you wanted to see me.”
Yan Li’s expression was grim, her tone colder than ever.
“What’s Yan Xici’s account on Little Broken Station?”
Wang Meng was the one who had shown her the video yesterday. If it hadn’t been for her, Yan Li would never have known Yan Xici was secretly making videos.
Yan Li’s business was focused on acne treatment products, so she rarely paid attention to Little Broken Station.
‘I can’t believe that girl ran off to Little Broken Station to make videos and do livestreams, playing the part of an influencer!’
‘How promising of her!’
‘At her age, she should be looking for a proper job. Who told her to get into this mess? Does she have any idea how cutthroat this industry is?’
At Yan Li’s words, Wang Meng quickly unlocked her phone. She wished she hadn’t. A cold sweat broke out on her back. ‘Good lord, she’s live right now! And she’s horseback riding with Xiao Ran!’
‘And she has over forty thousand viewers! That’s better than many of the minor influencers at our own company.’
‘Getting that much traffic on a first stream is incredibly difficult!’
When Wang Meng remained silent, Yan Li leaned back in her chair. “Did you not hear what I just said?”
She was at the absolute end of her rope.
Seeing that Yan Li was about to explode, Wang Meng quickly said, “Her username is just Xici, and the account number is 1034…”
After speaking, she turned her phone around and placed it on the desk for Yan Li to see.
‘This is their family drama. I hope I don’t get caught in the crossfire. I’m just an innocent bystander!’
Yan Li turned to her computer, logged into Little Broken Station, and started searching for the name Wang Meng had given her.
She wasn’t prepared for what she saw. On the screen, the two of them were horseback riding together.
The girl, wearing a white dress, sat atop a white horse. Although the skirt was pinned between her legs, this only served to accentuate their fair, slender beauty.
Xiao Ran walked ahead, leading the horse at a leisurely pace. The perfect lighting cast a beautiful glow on the happy scene, making it seem even more blissful.
The sight made sparks of fury flare in Yan Li’s eyes. She was so angry she could barely breathe.
‘How romantic of them!’
