Xiao Ran’s comment immediately drew their fire. The two who had just been focused on Yan Xici were now amused by what he’d said.

‘Turning his sister-in-law into his girlfriend, and acting so natural about it. It makes you both envious and resentful!’

Just then, Xu Cheng walked over carrying several barbecue trays. They were loaded with ingredients for the grill—seasonings and skewers of beef, lamb, and pork. All in all, it looked like quite a feast.

A server followed behind him, carrying a box of charcoal.

Li Yuanyuan must have found the earlier incident amusing. Before anyone else could speak, she called out to Xu Cheng, “Your son just mistook Yan Xici for his mom and grabbed her chest!”

Yan Xici had just gotten over her embarrassment, but Li Yuanyuan’s thoughtless comment made her feel awkward all over again.

‘We’re both girls, and I don’t even know her that well. How could she say something like that!’

She lowered her head and followed behind Zhang Chuan.

Once the group entered the private room, Xu Cheng took his son back. “Thank you, thank you. I’m so sorry for making you all help me watch my kid.”

He added, “He’s probably sleepy. I’ll take him to Zhang Min. You guys go ahead and get started, I’ll be right back.” He then turned and walked out.

The private room had a great atmosphere. A large, half-length window offered a view of people fishing outside. A few boats drifted on the large lake, and as the sky gradually darkened, the scene looked very pleasant.

On either side of the window was a large tatami platform, with bedding neatly arranged on top. They also had sliding doors, which would completely conceal the area when closed.

In the center was a large round table that could seat ten people. The entire room was about a hundred square meters and even had a mahjong machine.

A small door to the side opened onto an open-air balcony, where a long barbecue grill was placed.

The server placed the box of charcoal he’d brought next to the grill and then excused himself.

After a quick look around, Xiao Ran took Yan Xici outside to get the barbecue started. To be honest, Li Yuanyuan’s earlier comment had made him a little uncomfortable, but he didn’t say anything out of respect for Zhang Chuan.

Seeing Xiao Ran head out, Yan Xici hurried after him like a curious child. “Brother Xiao Ran, what are we doing now?”

The girl’s heart was filled with curiosity about this barbecue.

Xiao Ran reached into the box and took out a few pieces of charcoal. “What do you think we should do?”

‘I’m holding charcoal. Obviously, the first step is to start the fire.’

They had originally come to help Brother Xu Cheng film a video. Brother Xiao Ran had told her a lot about it last night, but she felt there was just too much to film. If that was the case, why not just start a livestream?

After all, no one would upload a video that was several hours long. Besides, for real activities like barbecuing and horseback riding, she felt authenticity was key!
