I've Divorced Your Sister, Why Are You Still Here?
Chapter 118 - 110: Sisters’ Duel
Chapter 118: Chapter 110: Sisters’ Duel
Wang Meng pursed her lips, her expression firm as she looked at Yan Li, as if trying to cheer her on.
"I’m so furious. Thank goodness you’re here." Yan Li’s tone gradually calmed.
As she looked into Wang Meng’s eyes, a trace of gentleness appeared in her own.
Wang Meng had been with her ever since she started her own business. Honestly, she truly couldn’t manage without her.
Their relationship had long since moved beyond that of a simple superior and subordinate; they were friends, and even more trustworthy than friends.
Wang Meng frowned, her tone serious.
"You have to communicate with them properly. Ask how serious they are, and then we can decide on our next step. You can’t force things like this. If you try to break them up, you’ll likely be disappointed with the result."
Her own younger brother was a living example. She really didn’t want to see Yan Xici forced down the same path by her sister.
"Alright, I get it," Yan Li said. She then picked up her glass and took a sip of water.
...
Meanwhile, a gloomy Yan Xici slowly changed her clothes while wondering what her sister would say to her.
’Based on past experience, it’ll probably just be a screaming match. It’s also very possible she’ll disown me on the spot, or maybe call Mom and Dad directly and force me to break up with Brother Xiao Ran.’
But even after running through all the terrible possibilities in her head, she remained determined. ’I have to be with Brother Xiao Ran.’
After changing her clothes, the guilt-ridden girl tried to bolster her courage by deliberately putting on the light blazer that Xiao Ran’s mother had given her.
’I hope she can give me courage.’
’I want to be just like she was back then, or even braver!’
After steeling herself mentally, Yan Xici hurried out the door, left her residential complex, and walked toward the street.
The sun was strong today. It was almost August, and the weather was getting hotter and hotter.
Just then, an empty taxi pulled up by the curb. Yan Xici quickly waved, and the car stopped.
The driver looked to be about twenty-six or twenty-seven. His skin was a bit tan, but he looked quite neat and tidy.
He beamed at Yan Xici. "Where to, miss?"
"Nanjing Road, Yunya Company!"
Yan Xici looked down at her phone as soon as she finished speaking. Her heart was heavy with anxiety.
Hearing that, the young driver glanced in the rearview mirror. He hadn’t gotten a good look from a distance, but now he saw her clearly. ’Isn’t this the vlogger I was watching on Little Broken Station just last night?’
’It’s a little embarrassing, but I’m already twenty-seven and I don’t have a wife, or even a crush on anyone. Every day after work, I just scroll through videos and occasionally tip my favorite vloggers.’
’Yan Xici is one of my favorites. This girl has such a pure look to her, a kind of ethereal quality. Not like those cookie-cutter influencer faces; she’s more natural.’
He looked at Yan Xici with delighted surprise. "You’re the vlogger from Little Broken Station, right?"
?
Yan Xici was startled. ’What’s going on?’
She blinked, her expression blank. "Yes, I am. Why?"
’This guy actually knows I’m a vlogger?’
’Did he see my videos?’
’Am I so famous now that I get recognized on the street???’
Yan Xici was a bit overwhelmed by the flattery. "Oh, you’ve seen my videos."
The young driver chuckled, revealing a set of white teeth. "Yeah, I really like your videos. Watching them is a great way to de-stress."
’She’s like a cat, always just quietly sharing her thoughts, planting flowers, or cooking something. It all looks so cozy and makes you feel good inside.’
"Thank you for your kind words. I’ll keep doing my best."
This sudden praise really left Yan Xici unsure of how to react. She looked a little stiff, and even the tips of her shoes, which had been slightly apart, were now pressed together.
Even though she liked making videos and couldn’t help but feel a little pleased with herself whenever she saw a complimentary comment, she actually had a bit of social anxiety.
Talking to people she didn’t know well made her feel uncomfortable.
The young driver, on the other hand, was incredibly friendly!
"By the way, when are you going to start live streaming? Ten minutes a video is just too short. It’s over before you know it. And you probably don’t make much money that way, right?"
"A lot of streamers these days have set prices for things in their live streams, like ’dance for this much,’ ’sing for that much.’ Or they’re the kind who sell products and get a commission."
"For someone like you, all you get is a little ad revenue from your views. Compared to those other streamers, it’s a pitifully small amount. You don’t even have to ask to know."
"Yeah, I really don’t make much," the girl admitted with a quiet nod.
’I only make a little over three thousand a month, sometimes four. It varies.’
"Well, I think you should consider live streaming. If you do, I’ll definitely tip you. I’ll be your number one supporter!"
The young man didn’t hide his admiration for Yan Xici in the slightest.
’The main thing is, she looks exactly the same as she does in her videos. For a vlogger like her, why bother with daily life stuff? Being a "beauty streamer" is where the real money is!’
’Just act cute, be a little playful, ask for gifts... the money would come pouring in, right?’
Hearing him mention being her number one supporter, the girl hurriedly shook her head. "Thank you, thank you, but there’s no need. It’s not easy for you to earn money, either..."
’Driving a taxi is such hard work. How does he have money to tip streamers?’
’Honestly, I almost want to give him some advice.’
’You shouldn’t waste money, even if you have it.’
Hearing this, the young man glanced in the rearview mirror and couldn’t help but laugh. "Hey, that attitude won’t get you anywhere. Other streamers are racking their brains trying to get people to give them gifts. You won’t make any real money with a mindset like that."
