It's Perfectly Normal for my Slime to beat up a Dragon, Right?
Ch. 298 - One Piece of Meat For You, One Piece of Meat For Me
New Novel - Read Here
Bang!
A giant frog, about half a meter long, was sent flying. It crashed to the ground, twitched once, and went completely still...
"You fucking killed a fierce beast with one punch?!"
Fang Si and the other three shot to their feet, their faces filled with utter shock.
They recognized the giant frog instantly — it was an Emerald Giant Frog, just a juvenile.
"Hm? Incoming!"
In that instant, Qiao Yue stiffened.
Her Demon Eye Crow let out a series of grating caws, as if sounding an alarm.
Chen Shu lifted his head slightly. A large cyan bird had appeared in the sky above them.
Its talons were clutching a struggling Emerald Giant Frog.
Clearly, the frog had already been badly wounded and had just slipped from the bird's grip.
"Guuaah guuaah~"
Right then, a chorus of croaking came from one direction.
"Prepare for battle!"
Fang Si was fully focused. Both of her dragon-type contract spirits were already in position, their eyes fixed ahead.
Seven or eight Emerald Giant Frogs came hopping forward, their eyes blazing with killing intent — they were clearly chasing that cyan bird in the sky.
"Food's here!"
Chen Shu licked his lips, his face lighting up with excitement.
The distance between the two sides closed in an instant. The Emerald Giant Frogs had also sensed danger.
Then, without warning, one Emerald Giant Frog shot out its blood-red tongue — straight at a companion beside it.
"Guah!"
The frog was badly wounded and howled in agony, staring at its own kind in utter confusion.
"Hm?"
Chen Shu was just as baffled — until he noticed the traitor frog's eyes glowing red, looking completely dazed and out of it.
"A control-type skill?"
Chen Shu's gaze shifted to the Super S-rank Enchanting Red Butterfly beside Lu Zhining.
The butterfly's delicate, translucent wings shimmered with crimson light. It had seized direct control of a fierce beast.
Chen Shu's eyes narrowed. He seized the moment while the enemy was in chaos.
The husky had already locked onto a frog and unleashed its skills.
Fireball, Ice Ball, Wind Blade, Lightning Strike — all launched in rapid succession, a dazzling display of effects.
"Roar!"
The Scarlet Flame Dragon, Boulder Colossus, and Black Thunder Bird joined the attack too, easily overwhelming their targets.
The Emerald Giant Frogs were only Black Iron One-Star — they were getting completely trounced.
"Gugu~"
Just as the frogs were taking a beating, a strange croak rang out.
A frog with black spots across its body hopped into view, its eyes seething with ferocious rage.
"Hm? A Black Iron Three-Star variant fierce beast?"
Everyone flinched. They hadn't expected to run into a variant this early.
"Gugugu!"
The variant frog saw its underlings getting destroyed and instantly flew into a frenzy.
As their big boss, could it just let that slide?!
Its powerful hind legs launched it skyward with a single bound. Midair, its blood-red tongue shot out.
It thrashed its head wildly, whipping the giant tongue around — it looked like it was having some kind of seizure!
This was the sign that it was about to attack!
But as always, trouble struck when you least expected it...
A yellow sphere leaped up, wiggling its enormous rear with pure, unbridled delight.
"?!"
The variant frog's eyes went blank — but it was stuck in the air with nothing to push off against.
The other frogs and contract spirits all turned their heads away, unwilling to witness what came next.
BOOM!
The big yellow sphere came crashing down with all its weight, slamming the frog into the ground!
The soft soil caved in several meters deep, forming a massive crater...
"Gu... gu..."
The variant frog's body was completely pinned beneath it. Only its tongue, sticking out from under, twitched sporadically.
The exclusive skill [Invincible Press Press Press] could seal any enemy up to one full major realm above it.
Even at Black Iron Three-Star, it couldn't break free — not unless it relied on raw physical strength.
But the frog was clearly not a strength-type fierce beast.
"That's it? It's over already?"
Everyone was stunned. A Black Iron Three-Star fierce beast, oneshotted just like that?
It barely even got a chance to show off before it was dead?
"Awooo!"
The husky activated [Clone], and now two dumb huskies bounced around in circles, flinging skills at the variant frog's exposed tongue.
Soon enough, they were even hopping right next to that tongue — textbook grave-dancing...[1]
The four of them quickly finished off the remaining frogs, leaving only the last variant frog alive.
"Goo-gii!"
The slime's body shifted and gradually shrank, uncovering the frog's head.
"Guuaah!"
The variant frog could finally see daylight again. It opened its eyes, looked up from inside the deep pit — and instantly shuddered with pure despair.
Around the edge of the crater, a ring of contract spirits glared down at it, their eyes filled with murderous intent.
The frog was like some guy surrounded by a gang of thugs, trembling helplessly.
In a flash, the glow of various skills erupted — too blinding to look at directly.
Chen Shu remained silent. He made the sign of the cross over his chest and offered a moment of silence for the variant frog.
At the same time, he tipped some hotpot base into the iron pot...
Three minutes later.
Chen Shu calmly pulled out a butcher's cleaver and got to work processing the fierce beast meat.
The four girls all stood by and waited. For all their immense talent, none of them had ever lifted a finger in the kitchen — they couldn't cook a thing.
"Junior Chen Shu, you're so domestic!"
Lu Zhining covered her face with both hands and said with a giggle.
"Thanks for the compliment, Senior!"
Chen Shu flashed a grin, swung the cleaver down, and hacked off the frog's leg in one clean stroke.
Blood sprayed out, spattering all the way onto his face.
That sight, combined with his bandit grin, instantly shut Lu Zhining up.
"Uh... forget I said anything..."
All four of them immediately turned away, refusing to look at Chen Shu.
"What's wrong?"
Chen Shu put on a perfectly innocent expression and focused on carving up the fierce beast meat.
A full-grown Emerald Giant Frog had a massive body, stretching up to two meters in length.
Chen Shu peeled back the skin and carved out the half-palm-sized chunks of meat from the hind legs — the most delicious part of the entire frog.
Black Iron-rank tamers had powerful physiques. They might not be able to outfight fierce beasts, but digesting them was no problem at all.
Gurgle gurgle~~
The hotpot oil in the iron pot gradually came to a boil. The fierce beast meat mixed with the hotpot base, instantly filling the air with rich, mouthwatering fragrance.
"Time to eat!"
Chen Shu licked his lips and reached straight in with his chopsticks.
"Sis Fang Si, one piece of meat! — One for me!"
"Senior Lu, one piece! — One for me!"
"Senior Qiao, one piece! — One for me..."
The four of them had just gathered around when they caught Chen Shu's meat-allocation operation.
"What kind of racket is this..."
Fang Si and the others' eyes went wide. Every single one of them was staring at Chen Shu.
Chen Shu looked back at them with a perfectly innocent face. "Seniors, don't be shy! Why's everyone staring at me?"
"We're just trying to see how thick your face really is!"
"Stop dividing! If you keep going, none of us are even eating dinner tonight!"
[1] 坟头蹦迪 (féntóu bèngdí): Literally "dancing on a grave." Chinese internet slang for disrespectfully celebrating someone's death or misfortune — the ultimate form of adding insult to (fatal) injury. Here the husky clones bouncing on the pinned frog's exposed tongue is the physical comedy equivalent.
