"The Broken Soul Sect?"

Gong Xingsi’s hands were covered in flour.

He fell silent for a moment, ignoring the flour on his hands. His eyelids twitched upon hearing the name. "Are you certain? The Broken Soul Sect was wiped out a hundred years ago."

"I’m certain!" Yin Da was resolute. "If I hadn’t participated in the siege against the Broken Soul Sect back then, I definitely wouldn’t have recognized it!"

Gong Xingsi was silent for a moment, then let out a breath. "To think they’ve returned from the dead."

"I don’t think they’ve returned from the dead. Some of them must have slipped through the net!"

A brief flash of panic appeared on Yin Da’s face. "Should we notify the Ten Thousand Immortals Sect? This is no small matter."

Gong Xingsi fell into a rare silence, then lowered his gaze. "Go and bring the others here."

Yin Da nodded quickly and left.

A short while later, the other three arrived.

The group gathered together and cast a Forbidden Curse on the pastry room to prevent Mao Yuzhu from barging in and overhearing something she shouldn’t.

Mao Yuzhu wasn’t online today, so Gong Xingsi was here alone.

Yin Er, still unaware of what had happened, walked in, grabbed a freshly baked loaf of bread from the counter, and took a bite. "Boss, you’re back so soon?"

Yin Da took a breath and explained what he had just discovered. "The disciples from the Fierce Eagle Sect carry the aura of the Broken Soul Sect."

The bread fell from Yin Er’s mouth.

Even as a Late-stage Golden Core cultivator who had seen his share of storms, he nearly jumped to his feet. "What? Are you serious?!"

Yin San and Yin Si also grew grim. "The Broken Soul Sect? Weren’t they destroyed a hundred years ago?"

Their thoughts mirrored Gong Xingsi’s.

Yin Da said, "I personally saw a disciple of the Broken Soul Sect back then, so I can recognize it. I am absolutely not mistaken!"

The group’s expressions were heavy.

The Broken Soul Sect... that was once a sect under the Tianyang Sect.

And it was a sect that the Tianyang Sect had to personally lead several other Major Sects to destroy.

To put it bluntly, the Tianyang Sect, a Major Sect, already had a rather poor reputation. The fact that the Broken Soul Sect was so depraved that the Tianyang Sect itself had to step in and eradicate them speaks volumes.

This was all because the Broken Soul Sect’s Cultivation Techniques were inhumane.

The Broken Soul Sect’s Cultivation Techniques involved the extreme torture and slaughter of various Cultivators and mortals, extracting their pain and overwhelming hatred to refine the most vicious Soul Banners on the Yunzhou Continent.

Compared to their Soul Banners, the Soul Banners of other ordinary sects might as well have been used for rituals to guide souls to the afterlife.

The people of the Broken Soul Sect, men and women alike, were all utterly devoid of humanity.

They were capable of acts of cruelty so shocking they would astound even other Cultivators.

Furthermore, the Broken Soul Sect’s Cultivation Technique itself could silently turn others into Puppets, which were extremely difficult to break free from.

Low-level members could even control high-level ones, and could even perform possession. Their cultivation advancement was blindingly fast.

This terrified High-level Cultivators even more.

The abilities were powerful, but anyone who practiced the Broken Soul Sect’s Cultivation Technique was destined to become an inhuman monster, unable to control their bloodthirsty desire to kill.

Even powerful Cultivators were unwilling to go down that path.

Back then, the Broken Soul Sect had rapidly and silently spread its influence, controlling various large and small sects under the Tianyang Sect.

It wasn’t until incidents started occurring in two of the Major Sects, the Yinxiao Sect and the Extreme Saint Sect, that the Broken Soul Sect’s true nature was gradually exposed.

The Tianyang Sect lost a Divinity Transformation Stage elder and had to gather the power of several Major Sects. It’s even said that a Mahayana Realm ancestor personally intervened to divine their fate, finally snuffing out all of the Broken Soul Sect’s possibilities and destroying them completely.

The terror of this sect was known even to the other Super Major Sects.

It was said that even the Xue Cang Sect had provided assistance.

And now, a hundred years later, the aura of the Broken Soul Sect had appeared in the territory of the Ten Thousand Immortals Sect...

Their hearts pounded with fear. In the quiet pastry room, filled with the sweet aroma of desserts, only the sound of their discussion could be heard.

"Young Master, should we... report this to the Ten Thousand Immortals Sect, or to that senior first? This is too big for the Feique Sect to handle."

Gong Xingsi’s expression was unusually cold and grim.

Because this was indeed a problem. "We can’t let the Ten Thousand Immortals Sect know about the Feique Sect’s situation."

If we go to them, everything here will surely be exposed.

Our agreement with that senior will be nullified, and who knows what consequences we would face.

But if we don’t say anything, what do we do about the Broken Soul Sect?

The Feique Sect is completely incapable of handling something like this.

Thus, Gong Xingsi made his decision quickly. "Go and tell that senior. Whatever his decision may be, this is not something we can decide."

Yin Da accepted the order and departed.

Yin Er said worriedly, "I noticed this long ago. The Ten Thousand Immortals Sect rarely manages the affairs of these small sects, unlike the Tianyang Sect..."

Other Major Sects actually maintain very strong control over the sects under them.

That’s why the Tianyang Sect was able to discover the Broken Soul Sect’s activities so quickly back then.

Even in our Yinxiao Sect, a Steward from the Tianyang Sect was stationed.

A Major Sect like ours would also occasionally inspect the nearby small sects.

We were used to that, but after coming to the Ten Thousand Immortals Sect’s territory, we discovered they basically treat other sects like Independent Practitioners.

I mean, the Sea View Sect has never even sent anyone to the Feique Sect...

If the Broken Soul Sect has truly been rekindled from the ashes, and they follow their old pattern, it might be too late by the time the Ten Thousand Immortals Sect finds out, assuming no one tells them.

No wonder the Fierce Eagle Sect is targeting the nearby sects.

In that case, I’m afraid the Feique Sect’s former master, Jingque True Man, is most likely dead.

Gong Xingsi sighed. "First, let’s see what the senior decides."

Yin Da went to Han Daozi. Han Daozi had been amusing himself in the Inner Sect of the Longevity Sect.

He would often come to the Longevity Sect’s Inner Sect now, staring in a daze at the faceless Nüwa Statue.

He truly couldn’t understand how the Longevity Sect had managed to build a statue that could make even someone like him feel a sense of dread.

Whenever his Divine Sense entered this place, it would be silently devoured and disappear.

Yet, nothing happened to him, and he couldn’t discern any further clues.

The statue before him seemed to be just a statue.

When Yin Da approached this time, he sensed it quickly. He returned to the second floor of the inn in town and appeared before Yin Da, asking coolly, "What is it?"

Gong Xingsi’s men wouldn’t seek him out for no reason.

Covered in sweat, Yin Da relayed what he had observed. "The disciples of the Fierce Eagle Sect have the aura of the Broken Soul Sect. In our Tianyang Sect’s region, the Broken Soul Sect was a sect that was annihilated a hundred years ago..."

Before he could finish, Han Daozi jumped up. "What?! The Broken Soul Sect?"

A trace of shock appeared on his aged face. "Are you certain it’s the Broken Soul Sect?"

Yin Da nodded, his voice firm. "It is the Broken Soul Sect, Senior. A hundred years ago, I personally saw one of its disciples..."

He gritted his teeth and admitted, "The truth is, I was almost a victim of possession back then, which is why I’m so familiar with the aura of the Broken Soul Sect."

He would never forget the feeling of that terror for the rest of his life.

He had only survived because he was lucky enough to be saved by the Yinxiao Sect’s Sect Master!
