Chapter 159: Chapter 159: Jiang Yu

The four of them had limited energy. It was impossible for them to watch over more than a dozen people day and night.

Remembering the ten unopened treasure chests, Shi Zhile entered the Planting Space and opened all of them.

[Obtained Hybrid Rice Seeds ×10, Purified Water ×2.]

[Obtained Energy Ball ×1, Disposable Raincoats ×3.]

[Obtained Bath Set ×1, Skincare Set ×1.]

[Obtained Compressed Biscuits ×3]

[Obtained Compressed Biscuits ×3]

...

[Obtained Remote Monitor ×1, Solar Panel ×1.]

[Remote Monitor: A 360-degree remote surveillance device. Can be used after being assembled with the solar panel. Contains a built-in memory card. Once installed, it allows remote viewing of any location on the island. (Spirit Value: -5 per use)]

’It consumes Spirit Value again!’

Shi Zhile sighed, looking at her nearly depleted Spirit Value.

She took out the remote monitor and the solar panel, assembled them in a few quick moves, and brought them out of the Planting Space.

"Since it’s a 360-degree remote monitor, the best place to install it would be in midair."

The moment she finished speaking, the monitor vanished from her hands, taking the attached solar panel with it.

She looked up and scanned the area, but the washbasin-sized monitor was nowhere in sight. She opened her interface again and finally spotted the two words "Remote Monitor" in a corner of the screen.

When she opened the page, her Spirit Value instantly dropped by 5 points. The screen then split into twenty-four sections, clearly displaying every nook and cranny of the island.

She enlarged the feed showing the stone house. The camera angle was from the doorway looking in, capturing nearly everyone inside.

After a brief burst of static, clear voices came through.

"Brother Sun, so many of us are living on her island. Don’t you think giving her just one fish is a little... inappropriate?"

Sun Ci sat by the fire, drying his clothes. "It’s fine. She doesn’t need our stuff. What she wants isn’t more supplies; it’s for us to keep to ourselves and not bother her."

"Whether she needs it is her business, but we can’t just give nothing."

Seeing Sun Ci look at him, the man immediately backed down, raising his hands. "Alright, I admit it. I just can’t stand seeing a young girl all by herself, looking so pitiful as she guards this island."

"You guys didn’t get a good look at her. That girl is so adorable."

Another, older man clapped his shoulder, looking at him as if he were an idiot. "Tang Yan, all you see is her pretty face. Did you forget she’s number one on the material rankings?"

"You think she’s pitiful? She probably thinks *we’re* the pitiful ones."

Tang Yan continued to argue, "But doesn’t she have no choice? She has to be strong to survive. That just makes her more pitiful."

Sun Ci said, "You’re just smitten by her looks. You’ve fallen for her."

Tang Yan replied, "I have not! I just have a thing for pretty faces."

"Sigh... have any of you actually seen her face? How can someone with such an adorable face look so cold?

Seriously, she’s so cute."

As soon as he said that, not only did the men in the stone house fall silent, but even Shi Zhile, who was monitoring them, was speechless.

"This guy... Is there something wrong with him?"

She split the screen, switching the other half to Shi Zhiyi’s feed.

On that feed, Shi Zhiyi was washing and slicing a pear, arranging the pieces neatly on a white plate.

A hand reached out from the corner of the screen, but it was slapped away the moment it touched the plate.

"This is for Lele. If you want a pear, go gnaw on one yourself."

Wen Bai rubbed his smarting hand, looking aggrieved. "How come she gets her pear peeled and sliced, but when it’s my turn, I have to gnaw on it myself?"

Shi Zhiyi’s tone was full of undisguised contempt:

"Why don’t you take a look in the mirror, Wen Bai? I don’t mind that you’re old, but a big lug like you is definitely not as soft and cute as Lele.

Next time Lele is around, don’t push your way in front of me. You’re an eyesore."

Wen Bai: "..."

Shi Zhile: "..."

’If I didn’t know my sister had no contact with Tang Yan, I would’ve thought they’d coordinated their scripts beforehand.’

She closed Shi Zhiyi’s feed, leaving only the one on the stone house.

Shi Zhile returned to the Stone Castle.

Just as she stepped onto the third floor, Jiang Yuxing and Wang Peng rushed over.

She ran right into them and nearly tumbled down the stairs.

After regaining her balance, she expressionlessly pulled out her axe.

"Pay up. If you don’t, I’m chopping something off."

Wang Peng immediately backed away, hiding behind Mr. Wen, who was lounging on a deck chair, calmly eating a pear.

Jiang Yuxing clutched his head with one hand and casually took out a fifty-jin bag of rice. "No money, but I’ll compensate you with rice."

Shi Zhile took it and stored it in her space. "Give me a solar panel. I’m out of power."

Jiang Yuxing: "..."

The axe moved closer, and he immediately produced a card. "I don’t have a solar panel, but I have a Sun Card. When used, a small sun will appear over the island. The sunlight can charge solar panels. Once activated, it lasts for six hours."

Shi Zhile snatched it away and put away her axe.

Brushing past him, she entered the third-floor area and once again took out her binoculars to look toward the stone house.

The rain was falling even harder than before. She could no longer make out the silhouette of the stone house, and even the watchtower was obscured.

"Jiang Yuxing, if this downpour continues, will the sea level rise and flood the low-lying islands?"

Jiang Yuxing: "I don’t know. But I did predict some news about the next instance. Want to hear it?"

The sound of Mr. Wen munching on his pear grew quieter. Even Shi Zhiyi, who had been keeping a wary eye on Jiang Yuxing, turned her gaze away from him.

The room instantly fell silent.

Shi Zhile: "I do, but if you’re planning to trade this information for my supplies, then just forget I asked."

Jiang Yuxing sat down on a wooden bed and casually switched on the electric fan. "You have so many supplies. Do you have to be so stingy?

I don’t want your supplies. I just need you to kill someone on the next island."

"Kill who?"

Jiang Yuxing’s thin lips parted. "Jiang Yu!"

Other than Shi Zhile, Jiang Yuxing, and Wang Peng, the rest of them weren’t very familiar with Jiang Yu.

They had seen her in the Primitive Forest, but Jiang Jing always kept her close, so they hadn’t interacted much.

Mentioning Jiang Yu inevitably brought Chuyi to mind.

Shi Zhile looked at Jiang Yuxing. "I can agree, but I need a reason to kill her."

Jiang Yuxing pressed his temples, looking troubled. "Because of Chuyi. He escaped."

"So if I kill Jiang Yu, he’ll show up? Or does her life just need to be hanging by a thread for him to appear?"

’If death really was a way to exit the game, Jiang Yuxing wouldn’t be using Jiang Yu’s death to force Chuyi out.’

’Or maybe he doesn’t want to force Chuyi out at all, but rather use Jiang Yu’s death to drive a wedge between me and Jiang Jing.’

’If, as the system said, death in the game means death in all dimensions, then Jiang Yu cannot die.’

Jiang Yuxing said, "Her life doesn’t need to be hanging by a thread. I want her dead! Only if she dies will Chuyi make a move on you. And when he makes his move, we can catch him."

’If Jiang Yu’s death would cause Chuyi to attack me, then that proves death isn’t a way out of the game.’

’And this is all Jiang Yuxing’s scheme!’
