Island Survival: I Build a Moving Castle at Sea
Chapter 151: When Enemies Meet, the Madman Wins
Chapter 151: Chapter 151: When Enemies Meet, the Madman Wins
The sky was beginning to brighten, and the morning glow rose in the east.
After they boarded, the sailboat officially set off to the east.
The sounds of battle carried over, and even from a great distance, they could see the large ship enveloped by octopus tentacles.
On one side of the large ship, the octopus’s head surfaced, its two bulging eyes occasionally sizing up the vessel.
It was clearly much smarter than the last one. It avoided a direct confrontation with the players, instead just wildly swinging its thick tentacles in the air. The tentacles would periodically slam against the ship’s hull, damaging many of the wooden planks.
Shi Zhile took out her bow and arrow, wrapped a torn piece of underwear around the arrowhead, then lit it on fire and quickly shot it.
The octopus’s head, struck by the flaming arrow, thrashed wildly, and the splashing seawater nearly extinguished the flames.
As its tentacles frantically slapped the surface of the sea, the fire on the underwear was completely put out.
Shi Zhile took out a towel she had torn in half from her storage, quickly wrapped it around an arrowhead, and then poured lava onto the towel to ignite it.
The arrow flew, landing squarely in the octopus’s eyeball.
Having learned from its experience of putting out the first fire, this time the octopus submerged directly into the sea.
As the octopus sank into the sea, the tentacles wrapped around the ship also began to retreat.
A red sun slowly emerged from the east. The temperature rose, and it felt as if lava had entered the sea, rapidly evaporating the moisture from their bodies.
By the time Shi Zhile boarded the large ship again, Jiang Yuxing and Wang Peng were already gone.
Shi Zhile sent a message: [You dead yet?]
Jiang Yuxing replied: [Thanks to you, I’m alive and well. Not a single scratch.]
Shi Zhile was expressionless: [Since you and Wang Peng helped out today, I’ll treat you to hot pot tonight. I’ll choose the ingredients, I’ll pick the place. We’ll go eat in the Primitive Forest, and I’ll find Mo Ze and Mo Ya to keep you company.]
’The Primitive Forest dungeon is over. My storage space can’t trap him, but can a dungeon?’
A long time passed before a message came back from the other side.
[Eating in the Primitive Forest is fine, but let’s skip having Mo Ya join us. I’m afraid you’d get jealous. It’s just a meal, you wouldn’t forget me there, right? After all, your memory is getting worse and worse. You forget me before you forget anyone else.]
It was a passive-aggressive tone that was hard to ignore. Shi Zhile quickly replied.
[If you’re so scared, then don’t eat at all. Be careful or I might poison you.]
The mention of poison reminded her of the alchemy station, so she started a video call.
"When does the alchemy station generate a new island?"
Jiang Yuxing was drying his hair, his upper body exposed to the camera as he lowered his head.
"An island just spawned yesterday, so today is the first day. Another island will spawn on the third day."
Shi Zhile: "Fine, then send the alchemy station over."
Jiang Yuxing raised a slight eyebrow, a half-smile on his face. "Are you sure? Stone Island is moving. The island that the alchemy station spawns every three days won’t move with Stone Island.
Taking the alchemy station now would be useless for anything other than letting you conveniently craft potions."
He had a point. Stone Island was moving, and to reach the base faster, she planned to give control of Stone Island to Shi Zhiyi.
The two of them would move Stone Island day and night, so there really wouldn’t be time to explore any newly spawned islands.
"Are you sure the dungeons won’t open next month?"
"They won’t! The natural disasters are worsening, monster Levels are increasing, and there isn’t enough energy to support opening the dungeons next month."
Having gotten a definitive answer, Shi Zhile was no longer in a hurry to get the alchemy station back.
"What’s the island that just spawned?"
"It’s Golden Island. I haven’t been there yet. Want to go check it out tonight?"
Shi Zhile didn’t hesitate. "After hot pot. I’ll contact you tonight."
She was just about to end the video call when Jiang Yuxing stopped her.
He was leaning back in his chair, a towel he’d been using to dry his hair now covering his stomach. He was shirtless and exposed, his posture a strange mix of flirtatious and bashful, looking thoroughly uncomfortable.
"Stone Island is upgrading. You want to come over and take a shower?"
Shi Zhile’s brow furrowed almost imperceptibly. "Are you inviting me to shower with this whole seductress act? It had better be just a shower."
Jiang Yuxing: "Of course it’s just a shower. A person with a dirty mind really does see everything as dirty. Are you coming or not?"
Shi Zhile first checked her Spirit Value and Life Value.
Her Life Value was full, but her Spirit Value was only at fifteen. However, Spirit Value wasn’t usually consumed under normal circumstances.
’Even though I don’t know what he’s up to, showering requires entering a shower cabin. It might be worth the risk to see if I can steal it.’
’It’s five o’clock. The shelter upgrade will be done in another two hours. This is the perfect chance to make a trip.’
She let Shi Zhiyi know, told her the shelter’s location, and then stepped through the Teleportation Gate.
The inside of the treehouse was as bright as day. Only Jiang Yuxing was there.
"Where’s Wang Peng? Why isn’t he here?"
"He’s resting next door. Don’t tell me you wanted him to join you?"
Jiang Yuxing stood up. He reached out and swiped a hand across the vine wall, and a metallic door slowly appeared.
There was a palm scanner in the middle of the door. As Jiang Yuxing pressed his hand against it, the door slowly opened.
Shi Zhile followed Jiang Yuxing inside, carefully examining her surroundings.
The walls had a metallic texture. The space wasn’t large, but it was designed with a separate wet and dry area. It had all the necessary toiletries; it was definitely a shower cabin.
The moment she stepped into the shower area, the door behind her vanished.
Shi Zhile glanced back, then unhurriedly continued to study the wall’s material.
"What on earth is this wall made of? There aren’t even any water stains."
Jiang Yuxing leaned against the sink, his gaze fixed on Shi Zhile. "The door disappeared, and you still have the nerve to study the wall material? Aren’t you afraid I’ll trap you in here?"
Shi Zhile’s hand, which had been touching the wall, suddenly moved to the bath towel wrapped around Jiang Yuxing. With a flick of her fingers, the towel loosened.
Seeing his stunned expression, she smiled with satisfaction.
"If I strip you naked, who should be the one who’s scared? And if I start a multi-person video call, who should be the one who’s scared then?"
She leaned close to his ear, whispering something... as her hand touched his skin.
Startled, Jiang Yuxing slapped her hand away and tied the towel into a dead-tight knot.
"You’re insane! Call me when you’re done."
With that, he left without looking back.
Shi Zhile recorded her surroundings and, after confirming there were no surveillance cameras, began to wash up.
After she finished, she took out her axe and scraped it lightly against the wall. But no matter how hard she tried, the Level Five Axe couldn’t even scrape off a speck of dust.
She then turned her attention to the showerhead. This time, she couldn’t scrape anything off either.
"Looks like the showerhead and the wall are made of the same material."
She contacted Jiang Jing and asked for a shower fixture set, then proceeded to dismantle the one in the shower cabin and install the one Jiang Jing gave her.
The chrome-plated showerhead had a heavy, metallic look, but its feather-light weight gave it away. Once installed, it almost blended in with the wall at first glance.
As long as no one tried to pick it up, the problem wouldn’t be easily discovered.
After tidying up, she first tried to figure out how to open the door herself. Only after confirming that she couldn’t did she shout for Jiang Yuxing to open it.
It was seven in the morning, and the sun was high in the sky.
People felt like marinated meat on a charcoal grill, seared on the outside and tender on the inside from the heat.
Back on the large ship, the official notification that the shelter upgrade was successful arrived.
