Island Survival: I Build a Moving Castle at Sea
Chapter 121: Huaxia Tribe
Chapter 121: Chapter 121: Huaxia Tribe
Seeing Shi Zhile agree so readily, Mo Ya laughed excitedly. Once she composed herself, she pulled Shi Zhile toward the cliff.
"Zhile, let me show you something cool. My brother and some of our clansmen found it by the sea during yesterday’s storm.
It has a lot of pretty drawings on it. My brother said it’s a treasure the Sea God gave our tribe, and outsiders aren’t allowed to see it.
But you’re my good friend, and you’re willing to give the man to me, so I’ll take you to see it."
Shi Zhile obediently followed her down the stone steps.
Below the cliff was a small lake. It wasn’t directly at the base, but it was close by.
Mo Ya stopped at the lake’s edge, then jumped into the water. She swam around a bit before pulling a tile-like stone from the water.
There were words on the stone—a survival tip. Shi Zhile instantly snatched it from Mo Ya’s hand.
[Survival Tip: The primitive island will soon face various crises. Please help the tribal population survive. You may not leave the island.
Note: This instance is low on energy. All tips regarding this instance cannot be broadcast through the system.
However, all panel functions are still usable. Player locations will be permanently shared. Survival tips will be scattered across the island. Please have players relay them.
Instance Duration: Thirty days.
Instance Missions: 1. Ensure the survival of the primitives (tribal population must exceed 50 people).
2. Players must survive for 30 days.]
The instance missions had appeared, but their method of delivery was nothing to be happy about.
Shi Zhile’s heart skipped a beat as a sense of unease spread from her chest. ’Low on energy? Did something go wrong with the game?’
Chuyi’s departure made Shi Zhile even more uneasy. ’Could it be because Chuyi tampered with the game?’
They were the ones who created the game, and everyone from Earth was inside it. ’If the game malfunctions, will everyone die in here?’
In a life-or-death moment, she was more concerned with her own life.
’I should have killed him before he left.’
Mo Ya shook the water from her hair and untied the animal hide she was wearing, revealing her naked body.
"Zhile, what are you talking about? What went wrong?"
Shi Zhile snapped back to reality. Seeing Mo Ya, she felt a wave of exasperation.
She averted her gaze. "It’s the island that’s in trouble. The Sea God told me a great crisis will soon befall our island, and he wants everyone here to prepare."
"The Sea God told you? You can read the drawings on the stone? What kind of crisis are we going to face?"
Shi Zhile took the hide from her, quickly squeezed the water out, and wrapped it around her again.
"The drawings on the stone are a form of writing, a gift from the Sea God. He told me something very important. Are there other stones? I can only find out the specific details of the crisis if I see more of them."
Mo Ya nodded excitedly. "Yes, yes! The Beast-eating Clan found stones like this too. But they eat people when they can’t catch prey, so we don’t normally interact with them."
The fact that the Beast-eating Clan ate people was a serious problem. She would have to tell the other players, and she also needed to discuss it with Jiang Yuxing.
"Let’s head back to the tribe first."
The two of them climbed the stone steps back to the tribe. A heavy stench of blood hit them while they were still a long way off.
A crowd of clansmen was gathered in a chaotic circle, surrounding something.
Shi Zhile spotted Jiang Yuxing in the crowd. Mo Ya saw him too and rushed over ahead of her.
But before she could get close, she saw Jiang Yuxing walk past her and approach Shi Zhile. Her smile froze, and she turned back to stand beside Zhile.
Jiang Yuxing looked Shi Zhile up and down. After confirming she wasn’t hurt, he spoke slowly, "We ran into the Beast-eating Clan. Some of our people were wounded. From what they said, it seems some of the players on this island have fallen into their hands. We also found tracks of a giant python outside the tribe’s grounds."
Three pieces of news, and not a single one was good.
Mo Ya exclaimed, "Someone was wounded?"
Jiang Yuxing pointed toward the crowd. "Your clansman. He’s dying."
Mo Ya shot him a glance and hurriedly pushed her way into the crowd.
To Shi Zhile, who knew the game’s origins, the island’s natives were just strings of data.
Even though the mission involved them, she still wouldn’t waste her own medicine and supplies to save them.
Comparing the two missions, the second one was obviously much easier to complete.
Shi Zhile pulled out the stone with the writing on it. "Look at this first. None of the previous instances had this ’low on energy’ problem. Now it’s happening, and we can’t even use the system. Is this your doing?
How can the players who entered the game get out?"
Jiang Yuxing placed a hand on Shi Zhile’s shoulder. "Your mission is to survive this instance. Someone else will handle the game’s internal problems.
As for how to exit the game... I’ll tell you after you make it out of this instance alive."
His expression was grave. It was obvious this instance was extremely dangerous.
For now, the greatest danger seemed to come from the island itself.
With the man-eating Beast-eating Clan in front and a python attacking from behind, if you added severe weather into the mix, very few players would be left in this instance.
Soon, the sound of crying came from the crowd.
"The Beast-eating Clan is despicable! They killed our clansman! Clan Leader, let’s go kill them and avenge Ah Gu!"
"Clan Leader, kill them! They’ve killed so many of our people!"
Mo Ze raised a hand, and the others instantly fell silent.
"Ah Gu’s death must be avenged, but right now, the important thing is to hide his body so they can’t eat him."
Shi Zhile took a picture of the survival tip and sent it to the chat channel, instantly flushing out a wave of lurking players.
She didn’t have time to see what they were posting, because Mo Ze had walked over to them with Mo Ya.
Mo Ze looked at Shi Zhile, his eyes filled with a kind of reverence:
"Mo Ya said you can understand the Sea God’s drawings. You must be the Witch the Sea God has bestowed upon us. Witch, please pray for us. Ask the Sea God to protect us and help us defeat the Beast-eating Clan."
Shi Zhile pressed her palms together, closed her eyes for a moment, then opened them again. "The Sea God tells me he can help you devise a strategy to defeat the Beast-eating Clan, but only on the condition that you obey the Witch’s words."
Mo Ze grew even more reverent. "We of the Cannibal Clan are willing to obey the Witch’s words!"
The others copied Shi Zhile, pressing their palms together and chanting in unison, "We of the Cannibal Clan are willing to obey the Witch’s words!"
The corner of Shi Zhile’s mouth twitched, but she quickly composed her expression. "The great Sea God has bestowed upon us a new name for our tribe: the Huaxia Tribe. From this day forward, the Cannibal Clan shall be known as the Huaxia Tribe."
’The name "Huaxia" is a creed. As long as the other players hear the tribe’s name, they will definitely find their way here.’
Her goal was to gather all the players, then screen them for those who still had their humanity and form a team to survive the instance together.
Mo Ze was confused. "Witch, we need to eat, and we are people. Why can’t we be called the Cannibal Clan?"
Shi Zhile replied, "The great Sea God said that Huaxia endures for eternity, a fitting name for our tribe."
