Ridan hummed a happy tune, perched on top of Hazuki’s head, swaying his puffy body left and right while using his tiny hands to grip Hazuki’s hair like reins to steer him out of the cave.

Hazuki let out a weary exhale before pinching the bridge of his nose while walking.

"Ugh... shut up, Ridan. You’re being weird today."

"What?" Ridan smirked, his body still swaying with joy. "Can’t I be happy? It’s just humming. It’s not like it’s the first time~"

Hazuki glanced up, mumbling in annoyance. "It IS the first time, idiot. I’ve never even once heard you hum before."

"Oh, hush, Hazuki. Just let this great Ridan-sama enjoy his day, can you?"

Hazuki grumbled under his breath. "I don’t know what’s gotten into you..." before he shrugged and kept walking. "Whatever."

Ridan smiled, continuing his humming in enjoyment while steering Hazuki out of the cave.

You don’t know how happy I am...

I thought I was never going to see you again. When those two sealed me, I really thought that was it. Never going to see those dumb faces, never going to hear those grumblings, and never going to enjoy my life again.

You don’t know how much it would have sucked, waiting for another thousand years inside that stupid stone, watching time crawl by, waiting for some random stranger to maybe...maybe not...find me and release me. It was lonely enough the first time. To go through it again? I’d rather be erased.

And even if I was released again by some other stranger, I don’t know if it would be the same.

Ridan smirked, keeping his hand on Hazuki’s hair while listening to him grumble about the man who ran away and summoned an ugly monster just to buy time.

But now... the sword that bound my soul is gone. Gone!

This means I’m not controlled by those two anymore~

But still, I’m sure someone is still watching over me... ah... no... it’s this dumbass... he or she might be watching over me.

But I wonder who?

After a while, Ridan shrugged before continuing his humming again.

Whatever~

As long as I’m free, able to eat good food again, and not sealed in boredom for a thousand years, who cares~? Heheheh~

Once they reached outside the cave, Ridan narrowed his eyes when he saw a high-ranking demon monster lying in the distance.

The giant body was sprawled across the forest floor, its head completely crushed beyond recognition. Black blood pooled beneath it, staining the earth and leaves. Its limbs were bent at unnatural angles, as if it had been beaten with inhuman force. One of its massive arms was twisted behind its back, and its torso was caved in, jagged bones jutting out from the wounds.

The hell?

This demon monster was supposed to be able to crush an entire A+ rank adventurer party. No matter how good their sync or how strong they were, at least a few would lose their lives. And even if they all managed to survive, it would take them a long time to defeat it.

I know that if it were me and Glacia, we could easily defeat this type of monster.

But not like this. Not without magic. Since this monster has full resistance against any type of physical attack. Even the sharpest sword won’t be able to cut or scratch that thick magical skin without a special enchanted blade.

And since I’ve been with this human for I don’t know how long... and from the condition of that monster... I’m sure this dumbass just fought with his fists and kicks, since he has no talent for magic, except for that Elemental Control he got from that loli catgirl and the mana channeling from his pure talent. And of course... I taught him how to control and use it~

Ridan slowly glanced down at Hazuki, who was walking casually past the massive corpse like it was just a bump on the road, stretching his arms.

"...Oi, Hazuki."

"What?"

"You killed this?"

"Killed what?" Hazuki blinked, glancing back at the corpse. "Oh, that thing? Yeah. It got in my way when I was chasing the bastard who ruined my food."

Ridan stared in silence before letting out a slow exhale.

Damn! There’s so much exciting stuff I missed while I was gone. Ugh! I really wanted to see this dumbass fighting an S+ rank demon monster live.

Ridan smirked, glancing down at him. "So~ was it strong~ hmm?"

Hazuki glanced up before shrugging. "I don’t know if that monster is strong or not. I don’t really think much when fighting."

"Wha? I’m sure you must have felt something when fighting~" Ridan released Hazuki’s hair and floated in front of him, drifting backward while facing him, wiggling his eyebrows. "Come on~ tell me~"

"Ugh! I said I don’t know. All I know is that weird big monster punched me, and I felt annoyed, so I just punched back. From that, all I know is I traded blows with it... err... I don’t know what it’s called."

Ridan narrowed his eyes, crossing his arms as he floated beside Hazuki. "I don’t believe you. You must have felt some pain~" He wiggled his eyebrows again with a cheeky grin, floating next to Hazuki’s face before giving him a side glance. "How much did it hurt, from one to ten? Come on, be honest~ Was it like... ouchie? Or more like... owie?"

Hazuki kept walking, rubbing his chin and glancing up thoughtfully. "Hmm... I don’t know... but compared to the punch when you possessed me and that? I guess when you possessed me it hurt more... no... more like it was annoying."

Ridan floated in front of Hazuki again, wiggling his eyebrows. "So~ compare to Glacia’s punch before?"

Hazuki stopped walking, glancing at Ridan with a confused look before crossing his arms. "Huh? Who?"

"The perverted loli dragon girl we met at the Icy Hell before? The one who punched you? Remember?"

Hazuki paused mid-walk, glancing at Ridan while crossing his arms. "What are you talking about, Ridan?"

"What? The Ice Dragon before. You know... back when we went there to get those Icy Leaves for your stupid quest."

Hazuki tilted his head in pure confusion.

"What the hell are you talking about? Are you sick? Or did your brain rot from sulking for weeks? Or was it just some weird dream? I didn’t know you were into dragons, Ridan." Hazuki smirked before continuing to walk again, teasing him. "Ah~ right. You’re a perverted puffball spirit with an addiction to women’s boobs, I get it. Heh~"

"O...oi!" Ridan grinned before floating and following Hazuki. "Not so loud! Don’t shout it for the world to hear~" He paused, realizing something. "Right~ no one can see me other than you, huh, dumbass?"

"Hah! Don’t forget, Ridan. Ellyn can see you too~."
