Chapter 915: Guide to the site
[Eon’s POV: ]
“Alright then, we will be back shortly.”
“My little baby… mommy will be back before you know it! Don’t cry too much please!”
“Hey, I’m here alright? I’ll take care of her.”
“Hump! Of course you will!”
Dad was going to stay here since, well, he was not invited.
He was a not someone that could individually changed the flow of this world or cause any significant change just yet, but that might not be the story in the following few years.
The chances were pretty high that he will also become an elder mage and join the elder council. And then he will be someone that the entire world will recognise— but that wasn’t happening this year.
He will have his rise, but this time, he will be staying behind with Taika and the others to look after the children.
He will have a lot of headaches and tension looking after them, especially when he will go out with them.
‘They will be going back to atraxia in a few days so he will not have it easy with Anna running around.’
But since he will have Taika with him… he will be fine.
He will be more than fine according to what mom was thinking, but she was worried about him as well. But she knew they would take care of her children.
“Take care of yourself, mother.”
“You two! Take care of yourself!”
My aunts were worried about us, but they knew the work was important.
There was always things that they might not know about when it came to actual work that happens at the higher levels.
Surely both of them had a unique social position. My first aunt was one of the pillars of high society while my second aunt was someone people recognised as one of the best florists.
Neither of them were any less important in the society than any of us, but they still did not have any concrete power over the world flow.
We don’t know the future, but at the moment, they were not important enough to possess as much influence in this world as Rein mother— someone who now was directly connected with the underwater kingdom.
‘A while back, when the two of them were abducted by the merpeople while they were visiting the nearby state which had recently lost its ruler, they were presented before the lord of their people.’
There, the lord made a strange request…
‘The lord knew the incompetence of the new lord so, in exchange of making a direct alliance with them, they were to trade with them instead of the one they had been trading with for centuries.’
The family was no longer pure and capable as it was until the last lord was killed by his own greedy brother, and the lord of waters knew well how those who betrayed their own family were.
He did not trust the person anymore, so they made a direct alliance with Atraxia— and that alliance was overlooked by the (Sky’s handler), one of the most capable people in this entire empire.
She was not an important person until she was in charge of this alliance, but now she was directly representing the merpeople of the underwater kingdom.
The lord of the merpeople trusted her and her abilities for some reason, so she also held an important position in this world.
‘Her dad as well… his mere presence in a country brought the attention of hundreds of thousands.’
Music was not called the art of the divinities for nothing.
His presence, his music, his words certainly had the power to change public opinions as much as the media did.
So, he was going to come with us.
“Look after them.” Before leaving, I picked up my little angel one last time.
“Come back soon… alright?” fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
“We will. I promise.”
She wasn’t crying… yet.
But tears might soon start flowing down her pretty eyes when we are gone.
She was a sensitive one, but she also understood we had to go this time. So she acted strong.
“You better bring me… souvenirs as well.”
“Yes. I’ll try that.”
Not that I know if I’ll even find anything worth bringing back in whatever place I’m going.
There should at least be something that she will like, so I’ll have to look out for pretty things.
“See ya.”
Giving her a little kiss, I handed her to her sister Elle and walked back. Ending up before Quin.
“I know. I’ll look after them…”
“Thanks.”
Last few days being with Anna had made her realise something.
Something very important.
“I’ll be counting on you, then.”
Giving her a little hug, which she wasn’t expecting, I walked to the other side, before my other little sister.
“Good luck.”
She was the only one here other than us who knew what we were going to do. She was connected to me so she knew everything that I knew so, it wasn’t like anyone told her.
I knew something, thus she knew it as well.
‘It’s kind of a loophole into the established ‘truths’ but there are always loopholes in things.’
That was the reason we all needed to be extra cautious about this whole gathering.
Who knows what will happen in this conference or if it will even go well or not.
There is a good possibility that we will be attacked, things will go down a bad road, we will have to fight an army, and yada yada.
It was possible, and she knew that as well.
“Take care of yourself.”
She will take care of others, and that much was given already.
I did not have to ask her or tell her to take care of the others. All that she needed to take care of in our absence was her own self.
‘Looking after all these people wasn’t easy. And she will have to look after the ones who are looking after the others.’
It was difficult and she will exhaust herself doing that.
“I’ll try.”
“Try harder.”
She was a good girl. I trust her as much as I trust my bond with Celes.
“So…”
I said my goodbyes to my dad, my aunts, and the rest of them.
“Alright.”
-Oooooooooooong!
First we will join Rein’s family in the town that we had agreed upon, and from there, we will see…
“Look after them.”
“Yes master.”
Grandpa Zhen was here, so grandpa was able to go without much worries.
“Then…”
-Swish!
We passed through the portal in our garden and, in the blink of an eye, we were walking out of a portal that was not the town where we should have been.
{ “Allow me to introduce myself.” }
The place that was present before us was some unknown barren landscape.
The city that was present around us was destroyed, it was already a ruin.
Around the city, as I could see with my third eye was sand and sand anywhere the eyes could see.
In the distance, there was sand as well.
We were now in the middle of nowhere and, the shadow that had only observed us until now, the one who had only talked with me occasionally in the past few days, was finally showing his true self for the first time.
{ “You can call me Crow. And I’ll be your guide to the conference site this time around.” }
A shadow materialised from the shadows that we were casting on the ground.
It was covered in black clothing, white gloves, brown shoes, and a black crow mask.
The mask covered the entire head of this individual, but one could still see the amber eyes behind the glass goggles of the mask.
The individual had a unique air to him that seemed… weird.
They were strong, that much we can tell.
Rein’s eyes couldn’t see all of their status window, but even with what she can tell with the basic information that her eyes were showing her… she knew this person was as strong as her grandma.
Additionally, since the grade and the colour that the name had received from her eyes was something unbelievable, she knew just evaluating the strength of this person based on their visible stats would be wrong.
They were stronger beyond their stats.
There must be a reason the headmaster assigned this person as our guide to the site.
{ “We will have to fly for around ten minutes to reach the next junction, so let us get going.” }
As soon as the person said that, black wings materialised behind their back just like they had materialised out of our shadows.
“Be careful, you two.”
Mom also used her skill and called out her golden wings.
“Do you two need help?”
“Oh, no. It’s fine.”
She had Branwen and he had Celes. Unlike Rein’s parents, the two of them would not need help from our grandparents.
“Alright then.”
Mom jumped into the air right after Mister Crow, and her grandmother followed behind them using her spell that had materialised into a disc like platform that would carry her parents and her.
My grandma was a blessed one, so flying was something she could naturally do using the atmospheric water droplets.
Similar to her, both our grandfathers could use their World Authorities to fly.
They had mastered their powers long ago, so something as simple as flying was no big deal for any of them.
And we had our familiars.
“Shall we go as well?”
Rein was not ready for this… that was the reason she had been mostly quiet since earlier.
But, knowing her, I have no doubt she will do well.
And I’ll be with her anyway. There was nothing to be worried about.
“Yes…”
Branwen turned into his bigger self, and she boarded him.
While using Celes’s Skill to give myself unique white wings that were powered by a continuous stream of energy circulation— a technique we had developed with our mentor, we joined the rest of them.
My technique was not a skill, it was a technique. And the rest of them who were seeing this for the first time, including mister Crow, could not help but be surprised at what they had just seen…
