Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer

Chapter 1236 - 1236: Help me at least!

[OP: ]

“Looks like I should have made something better.” At the end of their production, something that had concluded by the time most of the matches around the arena had been concluded and when it was evening time already, the Dwarf teacher looked at Zoe, a shimmer of surprise present in them.

They contained something precious right now– praise of a learned person.

“You’re an amazing teacher! Please don’t be like that…” Throughout their production time, the teacher had guided her through many processes.

She wasn’t doing anything new aside from applying her special creativeness to the processes. She was simply doing something that other don’t usually choose.

She was doing great as well, so with most things, there was nothing to complain. Still, even with her genius, she did not know everything.

With the guidance of the teacher, her hammering techniques, her breathing techniques during the material tempering process, the way she applied various smaller tools, even how she was processing the final product, everything had small gaps.

The unbelievable thing, in the same process, was how Zoe grasped everything that the teacher was teaching her in an instance as if she had already known about all that instinctively.

She was getting new ideas as she learned from him, in fact. Since she had inherited the talents and potential of her mother, she had a special instinct for the Creation itself.

Even though what she had chosen to create today was an accessory that gave the one wearing it an increased affinity with fire attribute, something she had made for Eon in the past, she obtained insights that she could not understand from the simple texts left behind by her mom in Eon’s tower room.

“Compared to that, I still believe this is severely lacking.” What the teacher had created was a short sword. A dagger covered with advanced enchantments all over it.

There was a gem attached to the sword that would produce a fireball comparable to a (tier-4) spell, something one could use once a day.

The dagger was magical in nature, something that one can easily call a (Level-11) artifact. In comparison to Zoe’s simple finger accessory that enhanced one’s affinity, this was still superior.

But in the eyes of a grandmaster, the creation that he was seeing was not as simple as what the others were seeing. This wasn’t just an accessory that could enhance one’s limited affinity to a major element, it was about the product itself.

The way it was created, the way the creator created the alloy that absorbed the flames that it was forged in, the way the accessory enhanced the attribute– an effect that usually required a far more complex process– everything about this product, this artifact was an innovation in itself.

“I must ask, Miss Zoe, how did you get the idea to create this? And, just how many times did you experiment with the materials to find the right combinations for this?”

Now, Zoe was examining her teacher’s dagger while the teacher observed the finger accessory that seemed to be made for archers.

There was a hook at the end of this item, the design itself was so intricate that anyone in the world would pay tens, even hundreds of gold for it.

Considering how the process of creation itself was so simple, it was also possible to produce this item or items with similar properties on a larger scale– something that would change the markets forever.

The reason their teacher considered this tool, this accessory an innovation is also because of the way it was created.

“It took me three weeks and more than a hundred attempts to get the combinations right, teacher. However, I first created the artifact to gift it to my big brother so the process itself was simply fun.

And since I wanted to give him a special gift, the idea perhaps naturally came to me, hehe.”

The moment she talked about her big brother, her eyes lit up in a way they had not ever since she started creating this piece.

It was the same reaction that she had whenever she talked about him. He had already seen this during their classes, but seeing it once again reminded him how the Big brother that she looks up to so much, was none other than the rising star of the current world.

“Sir Axion is a lucky person to have such a talented sister-.”

“Oh no no, teacher. I’m the lucky one to have a brother as amazing as him.” She cut him off quickly and the way she corrected him spoke how highly she looked up to him.

Eon was watching all of this from the spectator seats. There was no special reaction on his face, but he was smiling innately.

“He’s amazing, so I just wanted to make something that was just as special for him. Thus, I made this. He’s an archer, he is amazing and he can use magic so I made something that would be actually helpful to him.

And he loved it as well~.”

She had worked hard to create the artifact the first time and over the years, she had improved it as much as she could.

The version she had just made was the simplest of them all. It did not have any heavy enchantments or enchanted jewels.

It was pretty plain, almost like a skeleton structure of the ones that she had gifted to Eon or the ones that she had made for her own practice.

Tens and hundreds of them could not make it to the final processes due to the complexity of the magical processes, however she still had a few pieces on her, each more powerful than the other.

She was also working on a new version, something that would contain everything she had learned in the tower from their last visit, as well as something that would contain everything she had known and learned in the academy.

She had been looking forward to his birthday, but showing this version to the school was a pretty good idea as well.

“Haha, is that so? Seeing you all happy when talking about him is a fun sight, I must say~.” The teacher laughed a little, and then gazed back at the accessory in his hands. This chapter is part of the collection on *.

“Yeah…”

There was no doubt in his mind.

“This is impeccable.”

Compared to the curved dagger that he had made, something one would only use to kill and hurt the others, what she had made was a prayer for the goodwill of her brother.

It was common knowledge that she was the child of the person that taught Eon, making her far more precious to him than the others of his family.

Also, the fact that she carried the name and will of the entire Heliox made it impossible for anyone to question her legitimacy and noble lineage.

There were many of the branched families of the other noble families that would never come to possess the core names and titles of their families, but if the Heliox was placing such trust in a child that wasn’t related to them by blood, then she was bound to be someone incredible.

And she was surely incredible, the thing in his hands was the proof of that.

“It is your complete victory, Miss.” aat first he was addressing her as Student, but by this point, he knew he was in the presence of someone who would become an unfathomable figure in the future.

A few years and she would reach his level, a few more years and she might reach heights that had not been touched since ancient times.

“How can I accept victory when you’ve created something obviously superior, teacher?” Zoe looked at him with a concerned look when he brought up the victory part.

“Why can you not accept the victory though, Miss Zoe?” The teacher asked, his voice still calm.

“Hmm? I get why you would want to give the victory to me, but isn’t it that you’ve created something pretty rare as well?”

Her accessory might be amazing, but the terms of the match weren’t who makes a better artifact or acknowledging the other’s items.

They were competing to see who had better experience in creation of what they had created, or what they could make the best.

“Ah… I see why you must be concerned, yes.” He smiled at her once again, and nodded at the judges looking at them from the other side of the arena.

“While I may have more experience, finesse, and insight… what you made transcends the level of a normal creator, or a master for that matter.”

The design, the knowledge of materials, the functions, the innovation that this entire thing was, as well as the whole process that she had gone through to make this piece, all screamed at one simple thing.

“You earned this.”

The teacher was a grandmaster, on the other hand, she had not officially become a master either. She was still just starting this journey, she still had countless things to learn and countless things to make.

It was not fair to compare his experiences with hers. And yet, if she had no choice but to acknowledge what she had created in such a short time, then there was nothing more a true Creator like him could do but to acknowledge her results.

“You’re the victor… so, it seems the students have neared the teacher’s score with this.”

The night was approaching fast, and so was the time to wrap things up.

“Let’s give the stage to the next stars now, shall we?”

It was obvious who was coming next.

The vice headmaster was already on the arena, so… the arena ws once again frozen solid, looking at two certain individuals who stared back at their vice headmaster with a competitive look, ready to take her down and bring victory to the students this fine afternoon.
