Chapter 89 Blood Owl
Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Blood Owl
With a black hair whip in his left hand and a Branded Iron Rod in his right, the Chief Judge looked like a twisted maniac. Yet, framed by his hunched but still towering physique, he was as terrifying as a monstrous creature from Hell. Feng Yin gripped the Dragon Slayer Spear tightly and charged forward without the slightest hesitation.
In this consecutive Leader boss battle, the Chief Judge was merely an appetizer. His Strength was average; the truly difficult opponent was the Blood Owl Hunter coming after him.
The next moment, the two closed the distance at breakneck speed. The Chief Judge raised the Branded Iron Rod high, but before he could smash it down, Feng Yin’s Dragon Slayer Spear thrust forward.
SHK!
Amidst the clear sound of metal piercing flesh, a section of the Gun Blade protruded from the Chief Judge’s back, only to be immediately retracted. First thrust to the brow, second to the heart, third to the brow, fourth to the heart... Feng Yin didn’t care how many attack points the spear techniques he had seen online actually dictated; he simply relentlessly assaulted the enemy’s vital areas like the head and chest!
During this onslaught, the Chief Judge had no other recourse but to wildly swing his Iron Rod to knock away the Gun Blade thrusting at his face. Repeating this cycle, Feng Yin stayed just outside the three-meter attack range, keeping his opponent at bay while continuously opening several bloody holes in his body.
Correspondingly, even after Materialization, these defiled enemies seemed to be special entities possessing the dual concepts of game and reality. Unless Feng Yin’s attacks hit the head and destroyed the brain, or directly severed limbs, it was difficult to even hinder the Chief Judge’s movements.
The Chief Judge was driven into a violent frenzy by Feng Yin’s one-sided suppression.
"Heretic!!!" he suddenly roared at Feng Yin. Invisible Secret Energy rippled outward, forcefully pushing Feng Yin back several meters.
The next moment, the short whip and Iron Rod in his hands spewed forth the light of Blood Flames. Immediately after, he violently slammed the Iron Rod into the floor.
The Blood Flames explosively expanded!
Seeing this clearly, Feng Yin immediately used Stealing Step, rushing to an area in the confinement room devoid of black blood. That peculiar blood-colored Energy would detonate upon contact with blood. In an instant, the black blood spreading from beneath the Chief Judge’s feet across most of the room simultaneously burst into explosive fiery light!
BOOM—
Looking at the firelight surrounding him, Feng Yin’s mind raced. Dodging this sudden large-scale explosion meant he had evaded the most damaging attack. However, if he touched the aftermath of these Blood Flames, his Blood Volume would still be slowly depleted...
[Durability: 20/20 -> 19/20]
Even as Feng Yin pondered, the Armor’s Durability had already been burned down by one point from the flickering Blood Flames covering the ground. Therefore, dragging out a fight with this large monster was a bad idea. In that case—
Secret Technique: Blood Flame!
With a slight shift of his thoughts, five points of the Armor’s Secret Energy were consumed. Within his wondrous perception, this Secret Energy rapidly surged to the surface of his full-body Armor, transforming into flickering, turbulent blood-red fiery light! The deep, fluffy cloak billowed upward, fluttering wildly amidst the Blood Flames. Red and black intertwined, forming an extremely chaotic and sinister scene.
"I can finally test the power of this Secret Technique..." If he had a physical body right now, Feng Yin’s face would undoubtedly be filled with anticipation.
[Durability: 19/20 -> 18/20]
Durability kept dropping! There was no time to lose. Adopting a sword-gripping posture, Feng Yin grabbed the tail end of the Dragon Slayer Spear with both hands and raised it beside his face, assuming the Forehead Level Stance of the Jiao Swordsmanship. Who said long spears couldn’t execute Sword Techniques? Especially this Thrusting Skill...
By now, the Chief Judge had also charged madly toward him. Feng Yin similarly stepped forward and lunged, his figure turning into an afterimage as he shot out. The air compressed and the Blood Flames were pushed aside, fleeing in a panic as if they had met their nemesis.
Fixed Form: Soaring Dragon Sky-Piercing!
Compounded by Feng Yin’s sprint and thrust, the Dragon Slayer Spear stabbed toward the Chief Judge’s chest with astonishing Speed and Kinetic Energy. The sharp whistling of the air sounded like a dragon’s roar.
CLANG!
Unable to dodge in time, the Chief Judge attempted to Block with the Iron Rod, but he simply couldn’t Skew Feng Yin’s unstoppable thrust.
SHK!
The Gun Blade, coated in the light of Blood Flames, drilled into the Chief Judge’s chest in one swift motion. As black blood sprayed, the Second Layer of the attack erupted explosively.
BOOM!
A massive amount of Blood Flames coursed through the Chief Judge’s chest cavity, detonating the moment they touched his blood. A huge ball of blood-red fire spewed out. An exaggeratedly large hole was blown out of the Chief Judge’s chest, sending his entire body flying backward.
THWIP!
While he was still in mid-air, a Crossbow Arrow covered in Blood Flames arrived first despite being fired later, instantly piercing the Chief Judge’s skull. Indeed, Crossbow Arrows could also receive the buff of Blood Flames!
SPLASH!
Amidst a violent explosion of bloody light, the Chief Judge’s head was instantly blown to pieces. By the time he hit the ground, he could no longer move.
[Defiled Chief Judge banished. Obtained 20 units of Spirituality.]
Black mist dispersed, and the corpse turned to ash. Feng Yin saw it plain as day—there was a sparkling object amidst the ashes. However, he didn’t act immediately. Instead, he took the opportunity to silently transform the Dragon Slayer Spear back into the Canfeng Sword.
The next moment...
BANG!
A gunshot rang out, and a bullet struck the ground in front of Feng Yin. A capable and slender figure suddenly dropped from the sky, landing in a crouch right in the ashes of the Chief Judge. In a smooth motion, the figure snatched up the sparkling object.
Feng Yin also got a clear look at the newcomer’s appearance. It was a man wearing form-fitting leather armor. He wore a tricorn hat, draped in a gray robe akin to a trench coat, with a short cloak wrapped around his shoulders. His left hand gripped an elegant short gun, the barrel still smoking. His most defining feature, however, was the plague doctor-style beak mask covering his entire face. He looked like a character who had time-traveled from the Middle Ages of the Western world on Earth.
The White Crow, who had been watching the show all along, fluttered down to Feng Yin’s shoulder. With a strange laugh, it mocked, "Even an Elite Hunter from the Blood Owl Organization will likely meet only one end if they rashly touch your things..."
As if in response to the White Crow’s prediction, the Hunter suddenly let out a shrill wail and fell to his knees. A massive surge of bizarre, defiled aura emerged, completely enveloping the Hunter.
In just an instant, the Hunter before him transformed into an entity encased in pitch-black Armor. His tricorn hat disappeared, and the beak mask that had only covered his face morphed into a wholly sharp Helmet. The overall stylistic appearance of the person became roughly similar to Feng Yin’s Armor, though compared to his, it was noticeably more lightweight and streamlined. If Feng Yin’s Wolf Slaughter Form Armor was considered "Medium," then this Armor was "Light."
"I knew it!" The White Crow chuckled gloatingly as it took flight, perching itself up on the rafters.
The Blood Owl Hunter let out a spine-chilling, hoarse roar, abruptly reaching out to draw the weapon hanging at his waist. This weapon had impressively also been defiled, transforming from an originally sharp and narrow Curved Saber into a longer, more hooked, and incredibly Sharp blood-red curved blade.
He assumed a lunge stance with his right leg forward and his left leg back. Raising his right hand, he pointed the tip of the Curved Saber straight at Feng Yin. Without saying a word, Feng Yin similarly held the Canfeng Sword and took up a mid-level Human Stance.
The blood-red fiery light within the confinement room gradually died down. The next second, the empty, expansive room suddenly darkened.
SWISH!
Two whistling sounds of parting air explosively rang out. Feng Yin and his opponent dashed forward in unison. The blood-red Curved Saber and the silver-gray Canfeng Sword crossed paths.
CLANG!
Sparks flared in the dark room. Gripping his sword with both hands, Feng Yin suddenly unleashed a continuous barrage of Slashing attacks. Yet, the Blood Owl Hunter displayed an elegant and sharp posture, much like a Martial Artist of the dark night. Even while wielding his blade one-handed, he moved with incomparable Speed, repeatedly clashing against the Heavy Sword without falling to a disadvantage in the slightest! Flashes of the saber and shadows of the sword intertwined as the continuous ringing of their collisions echoed throughout the entire confinement room.
