Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Assassin

Feng Yin sensed something was wrong.

He stopped and asked Simon, "President Simon, where is the restroom?"

Simon glanced back at his private restroom in the office, then at Feng Yin, and pointed outside.

"Outside, turn left and go to the end."

Xiao Yu furrowed her brows, about to say something.

Feng Yin patted her shoulder and smiled. "I’ll be right back."

Going outside was exactly his intention.

***

Feng Yin stepped out of Simon’s office once more.

This time, with his guard up, he immediately picked up on a faint, lingering gaze fixed upon him.

It was completely different from someone casting a casual glance.

He could uncannily sense that he was being deliberately watched.

And this gaze followed him covertly as he moved.

Was this... some sort of Sixth Sense?

After obtaining his Armor, Feng Yin knew that even without activating his Manifestation Armor, his five senses were quite sharp.

His vision was the strongest, allowing him to clearly see the incredibly fast movements of an Ultimate Level expert like his master.

As for his hearing, if he concentrated, he could pick up intentionally lowered whispers from over ten meters away.

But had he not been deliberately stared at today, he truly wouldn’t have known when he developed such keen... intuition.

Of course, back on Earth, he had heard of and personally experienced a similar phenomenon—humans could sense when they were being stared at for too long.

But now, Feng Yin felt this sensory ability was several times stronger than it had been on Earth.

To put it bluntly, his intuition had evolved from feeling like someone was looking at him, to knowing exactly that three people were peeking at him from the southeast.

That was right—Feng Yin already knew there were three people watching him, and he knew their exact locations.

He maintained his composure, calmly crossing the hall and walking into the restroom at the end of the corridor.

"He’s in."

In the back, Hyena, Sharp Blade, and Ghost appeared to be standing together solemnly on duty, but they had already communicated in low voices using a unique frequency on their earpieces.

These three were combat specialists from the mysterious organization that orchestrated this riot.

All of them were Instant Level Combat Experts who possessed the See Through ability.

Their strength was second only to their Leader, Adam, and the strongest Blade Master, Ya Lie.

They were usually responsible for executing assassinations or assault missions.

Supremely confident in their skills, they dared to disguise themselves as Zero Point Consortium guards and infiltrate the Death Madness Tower even in this situation.

Their goal, naturally, was to wait for an opportunity to assassinate the Xuan Guang Group’s youngest daughter, Chen Yu, who had a hefty bounty on her head.

However, with the legendary Combat Master and Absolute Powerhouse, Xie Jingyuan, guarding her, the trio remained incredibly patient and didn’t act rashly.

Their primary objective of covering Ryan’s retreat was already accomplished. This was now merely a bonus dessert mission, and they wouldn’t gamble their lives on it.

Now, seeing that Xie Jingyuan had actually been successfully lured away, they knew their chance had come.

Hyena lowered his voice. "It won’t be long before Xie Jingyuan finds the experimental subject and engages it.

"I’ve placed some Clay Bombs in the corners of this floor. A Remote detonation will cause enough chaos, and then I’ll draw the attention of those guards."

Sharp Blade’s voice was equally faint. "That Instant Level bodyguard will definitely prioritize protecting Simon. I’ll feign an assassination on Simon to stall him, then Ghost will assassinate the real target."

Ghost agreed softly. "It’s doable. That man who just came out—should we take care of him first?"

Hyena shook his head. "Don’t complicate matters. Being down one person makes it even easier for us to strike.

"Wait a moment. We’ll move simultaneously, using the bomb explosion as a signal."

***

Meanwhile, Feng Yin had already activated his Manifestation Armor inside a restroom stall.

The long-unseen pitch-black Armor appeared on his body, the eye patterns on the wolf-head visor gleaming with red Light.

Bolstered by this Manifestation Armor, his five senses were further enhanced, becoming so strong that he could hear the cacophony outside even through the restroom walls and door.

"...prioritize protecting Simon... Ghost... assassinate the real target..."

"...bomb explosion as a signal... move..."

***

Beneath the visor, Feng Yin’s expression was calm.

From the jumble of noises, he distinguished the contents of a conversation spoken in three deliberately hushed voices.

Regardless of who these people were, their exchange was enough for Feng Yin to determine that their target was inside Simon’s office.

The conclusion was obvious.

The target for assassination could only be Xiao Yu.

With this, two paths lay before Feng Yin.

The first was to charge out now and directly take out that squad of Assassins, at least one of whom was an Instant Level expert.

After all, if they were merely three Fierce Level fighters, they wouldn’t have the confidence to stall the bodyguard beside Simon.

However, if Feng Yin went out and started fighting directly, those three were still wearing the Zero Point guard uniforms.

Conversely, clad in his Black Armor, he would be instantly perceived as an enemy and surrounded by the large group of guards in the lobby.

His Armor might be incredible, but that didn’t mean it could withstand the strafing fire of dozens of guns.

The second path was to also wait for the explosion to happen and intercept the assassination attempt while the floor guards were in chaos.

With so many guards around, the window of opportunity for their assassination was actually very short; if they failed to succeed in one strike, they would definitely have to retreat.

Otherwise, even an Instant Level expert would undoubtedly die under the crossfire of so many guns.

Feng Yin immediately finalized his choice.

He timed his exit perfectly for when the corridor was empty, swiftly stepped out, removed the exterior window pane, and directly vaulted to the outside of the building.

Outside, the night sky was heavy and low.

Feng Yin dug his fingers into the metal frames of the curtain wall and climbed toward the position that corresponded to the president’s office in his mind.

Such an extremely perilous act for ordinary humans was no different from walking or eating for Feng Yin in his Armored state.

He soon arrived outside Simon’s office, huddling beside a slightly wider metal frame, ready to crash through the window at a moment’s notice.

Next up was the wait.

***

Inside Simon’s office, Xiao Yu sat on the sofa, resting her chin on her hand. "I wonder if Master has encountered that mysterious monster yet. Senior Sister, Hong Yuan, you two should sit down too."

Xie Yanran and Hong Yuan slowly shook their heads, vigilantly guarding in front of her. They each held a recently acquired Explosion-Proof Shield upright in their hands.

Xie Yanran said softly, "Master specifically ordered us to ensure your absolute safety. It’s only for a little while, so it doesn’t hurt to be careful."

Hong Yuan also turned his head and smiled. "Junior Sister, we’re all counting on you to return to Celestial Essence. We can’t afford to be the least bit careless..."

BOOM!!!

As they spoke, the sound of an explosion echoed from outside.

Their expressions instantly grew solemn.

SHING!

With the ringing of a blade, Felt—who was beside Simon—unsheathed his Swift Sword, which featured a gorgeously intricate hilt guard.

The slender, long blade gleamed with silver Light, looking extremely Sharp.

He took a step forward, blocking in front of Simon, and said elegantly, "President Simon, please hide behind me."

Simon needed no further prompting. He had already retreated and crouched behind the desk.
