Chapter 49: Chapter 49: Dragon and Snake Stance, Feng Yin’s Goal

Ya Lie struck down his opponent in their very first clash!

The deafening cheers echoing throughout the arena ground to an abrupt halt. None of the spectators had expected the climactic deathmatch they had anticipated all night to end so quickly.

In the VIP box, Xie Jingyuan’s eyes flickered. "This Ya Lie has grasped the very essence of combat," he sighed. "The Swordsmanship of the Ancient Yin Style has forged an entirely new path in his hands."

Feng Yin was curious. "Master, is he already at the Instant Level?"

Xie Jingyuan nodded slightly. "Indeed. Furthermore, a ruthless fighter who has crawled his way out of countless deathmatches is an exceptionally formidable presence, even among Instant Level experts. Not to mention he appears quite young—likely under thirty..." He paused, exhaling softly. "If he doesn’t meet a premature end, there is a high probability he will comprehend the profound mysteries behind the Unity of Essence, Qi, and Spirit, eventually reaching the Ultimate Level."

"Ultimate Level. Unity of Essence, Qi, and Spirit..." Feng Yin’s eyes lit up at his master’s casual remark.

He recalled the bizarre phenomenon he had witnessed just two days prior when Xie Jingyuan had erupted in a fit of rage. It had been an overwhelming mental impact, projecting the hallucinatory image of a coiling Dragon and Snake directly into his mind. He wondered if what he had seen that day hadn’t been an illusion after all. Was it a phenomenon triggered by combining one’s spirit with their imposing aura—something only an Absolute Powerhouse could achieve?

Unable to hold back, he voiced his question aloud.

Xie Jingyuan smiled faintly. "Your deduction isn’t far off, but ’phenomenon’ isn’t quite the right word.

"My Dragon and Snake Stance is, in essence, merely an illusory projection of spiritual presence. In our circles, it is known as ’Momentum.’ It’s not a physical manifestation."

Without elaborating further, he patted Feng Yin gently on the shoulder. "The Ultimate Level is still too far out of your reach. Don’t overthink it. For now, you should simply focus on tempering your physique and refining your Skills."

Feng Yin nodded, obediently dropping the subject. Yet, a Seed of yearning for that miraculous realm had already taken root in his heart.

The Fierce Level’s Fixed Form.

The Instant Level’s See Through.

And the Ultimate Level’s Momentum.

While he still hadn’t heard of anything resembling Supernatural Energy, he couldn’t deny the sheer appeal of it all. Simply put... it was incredibly cool. This world was far too cool!

Tonight’s Death Frenzy Martial Combat officially drew to a close following Ya Lie’s instantaneous kill.

As they chatted, a knock sounded at the door. Xiao Yu, who was currently comforting Shen Jia after the gruesome spectacle, called out for the visitor to enter.

An elderly Caucasian butler stepped into the room and offered a polite bow. "Ms. Chen Yu, Ms. Shen Jia. Our regional president would like to invite you both to the evening gala."

Xiao Yu naturally had no desire to attend. However, the only reason her family had permitted her to go on this oceanic getaway was that she had been tasked with making social appearances. Left with no choice, she gave a reserved nod. "Very well. Please wait outside for a moment. My friend and I will join you once we’ve freshened up."

The elderly butler bowed respectfully and stepped out, closing the door behind him.

"First Junior Brother, you’ll come with me, right?" Xiao Yu immediately turned to Feng Yin.

Feng Yin sighed helplessly. "It doesn’t sound like a very fun place. Master’s company should be enough, right? I was hoping to head back and practice my Swordsmanship..."

As an expert contracted specifically by the Xuan Guang Group, Xie Jingyuan would naturally accompany Xiao Yu throughout her entire trip.

"It’s exactly because it’s boring that I need you there to share the suffering!" Xiao Yu latched onto Feng Yin’s arm, preparing to deploy her relentless swaying tactic.

Feng Yin sighed in defeat and nodded. As much as he dreaded the prospect of attending a dull cocktail party, he couldn’t bring himself to refuse Xiao Yu’s pleading puppy-dog eyes. After all, their ability to leave the island relied entirely on the financial backing of this Rich Lolita. Plus, she was technically his Senior Sister in the sect. It was only right to humor her every now and then.

A victorious grin instantly blossomed on Xiao Yu’s face. She then grabbed Shen Jia and dragged her into a corner to touch up their makeup. In truth, it was primarily Shen Jia who needed the touch-up; the gory spectacle from earlier had left her shaken and somewhat pale. Xiao Yu, being a fresh-faced young woman who had only recently come of age, wore minimal makeup to begin with and hardly needed any fixing.

A short while later, the butler guided the group out of the VIP suite and escorted them straight to the executive dining hall.

As they stepped through the doors, the scene that unfolded before Feng Yin was exactly as he had imagined. Crystal chandeliers, plush carpets, a towering champagne pyramid, and sleek, black stone buffet tables segmented the room. Waiters bearing trays of drinks weaved silently through the crowd. Men in sharp, formal attire conversed over wine glasses, while elegant, sophisticated women gathered in small clusters, speaking in hushed tones.

"I’ve heard that the upcoming collaboration between Zero Point and Xuan Guang involves military-grade tech."

"Wasn’t Xuan Guang originally partnering with Sigma Biotechnology?"

"Gospel Technology just uncovered ancient ruins in the Bailuo Desert. Their stock is bound to skyrocket again..."

"The Valuation Adjustment Mechanism..."

"The third round of equity..."

Snippets of dense financial jargon drifted into Feng Yin’s ears. His lips twitched. There was a bizarre sense of unreality to the entire scene. These were the exact same people who, mere moments ago, had been screaming like bloodthirsty animals in the stands of the Death Madness arena. Yet here they were, conversing with absolute politeness and refined grace as if discussing the weather. Humans truly were fascinating creatures.

The low hum of chatter quickly died down as the guests noticed their arrival. Strictly speaking, the silence fell the moment they spotted Chen Yu leading the group—even if she looked like nothing more than a fresh-faced teenage girl. Evidently, the prestige of the Xuan Guang Group carried immense weight, even among this gathering of capital Elites.

Feng Yin trailed behind, feeling distinctly out of his element. He had never experienced a setting like this, neither back on Earth nor in this world, and he had zero interest in cultivating the habit. He had been granted the rare opportunity to leave ordinary Earth for this Extraordinary world, one whose wonders were becoming clearer by the day. Moreover, he possessed a cheat in the form of his evolving Armor.

With such advantages, his ultimate goal was naturally singular: to scale the supreme peak of absolute power, and from that summit, look down upon the world. Everything else was merely fleeting scenery along the journey.

Acknowledging the raised glasses of the various merchants and dignitaries, the butler led the group across the hall, coming to a halt before a middle-aged man dressed in an opulent white suit.

Flanking the man were two other individuals. One was a tall, dashing Caucasian youth with shoulder-length, wavy burgundy hair. A Swift Sword with an ornate handguard rested at his hip. The other was none other than Ya Lie, the man who had just struck down his opponent in the arena. Though he had since changed into a formal suit, Feng Yin could still detect the faint, lingering scent of blood clinging to him.

"Mr. Simon, thank you for your hospitality," Xiao Yu said, stepping forward with refined grace to offer the middle-aged man a polite bow.

The man nodded in return, a warm smile spreading across his face. "Ms. Chen Yu. You certainly live up to your reputation as the young lady of the Xuan Guang Group. Your elegance is truly captivating. I trust you’ve been enjoying your trip thus far?"

"Of course," Chen Yu replied with a soft, practiced smile. "The oceanic views are stunning, and the Zero Point Consortium’s cruise ship boasts impeccable facilities and flawless service. My only minor complaint is that the events at the Death Madness Tower are a bit too gruesome for my tastes."

Standing beside her, Shen Jia stared in absolute bewilderment.

She wondered why Xiao Yu was stealing her lines. And what did the girl mean by "too gruesome for her tastes"? She had literally been screeching with excitement at the sight of blood just a few minutes ago! Xiao Yu was a complete violence junkie! She was such a drama queen. An absolute drama queen!

Standing toward the back beside Xie Jingyuan, Feng Yin tuned out the hollow, polite pleasantries. Instead, he was closely observing Ya Lie. Whether it was just his imagination or not, the man seemed noticeably impatient. It was as if he was itching to excuse himself to attend to some private matter.
