Chapter 43 This Is Ultimate Level?
Chapter 43: Chapter 43: This Is Ultimate Level?
Learning Xie Yanran’s location from Feng Yin, the group headed straight to the shipboard park on the ninth floor.
Indeed, with enough investment, a lush botanical park could be built even on a massive luxury cruise ship.
When Feng Yin was on Earth, he had heard of cruise ships with such lavish configurations. However, back then, he was just a poor commoner who hadn’t even seen a real mega-cruise ship, let alone boarded one. Unexpectedly, he finally got to see one here in this Otherworld.
However, he no longer cared about external luxuries that did nothing to improve his strength. With just a passing glance at the scenery, he followed closely behind Xie Jingyuan and the others to search the area.
The process wasn’t complicated. An indoor park on a ship sounded exaggerated, but in reality, it wasn’t particularly large. Soon, they spotted several people in black formal wear patrolling a walkway.
Hong Yuan and Xie Yanran walked at the front, followed by two burly underlings.
Just as Feng Yin’s group saw them, they also spotted Feng Yin’s group.
Feng Yin clearly saw the usually calm and low-profile Xie Yanran shudder. She froze in place, unconcealable excitement washing over her face.
Seeing that she had stopped and her eyes were glistening with tears, Hong Yuan immediately asked her what was wrong in a concerned whisper.
Feng Yin then looked at Xie Jingyuan beside him, only to see a terrifying aura of hostility rising on the man’s normally gentle and refined face.
The invisible pressure radiating from him made Feng Yin’s hands and feet turn icy cold.
In his eyes, Xie Jingyuan no longer felt human. It was as if an illusory shadow, resembling both a dragon and a Snake, coiled tightly around his entire body, violently unleashing a monstrous, overwhelming menace!
He wondered, "What is this?! An aura? Or something even beyond human imagination?! Is this... an ability only those at the Ultimate Level possess?"
Shock filled Feng Yin’s eyes.
But in his momentary daze, all the illusory imagery suddenly vanished.
The Xie Jingyuan before him was still the same middle-aged man. However, his expression was no longer refined; it was deadly serious. He strode forward briskly.
Feng Yin and Xiao Yu exchanged a glance, a tacit understanding passing between them as they hurriedly followed.
Xie Yanran remained rooted to the spot, tears already streaming from the corners of her eyes.
Xie Jingyuan stopped in front of her, ignoring the utterly bewildered Hong Yuan beside her. His voice was as cold as ancient ice. "Your face... did that traitorous disciple do this?"
So that was it.
Feng Yin immediately understood. Xie Jingyuan was enraged over the disfigurement of Xie Yanran’s face.
Xie Yanran hastily wiped her tears. Like a daughter who had done something wrong, she lowered her head before her father figure. "Mas— My skills were lacking. It was slashed by that bastard Shang Yunjie."
CRACK.
Feng Yin heard the sound of Xie Jingyuan clenching his fists.
"Good, good, good..." Xie Jingyuan took a deep breath, laughing out of extreme anger. "This rebellious disciple has made mistake after mistake, even committing a felony, yet I can’t personally go to Genroku to execute him with my own hands...
"I, Xie Jingyuan, am truly useless!"
"Xie Jingyuan?! You’re—" The bald Hong Yuan instantly widened his eyes.
Xie Jingyuan turned to look at him, looking slightly confused. "And this is?"
Xie Yanran had already calmed down. She pulled Hong Yuan over and said softly, "Master, this is my partner. We’ve supported each other ever since I ended up on Border Prison Island.
"His name is Hong Yuan, a former disciple of the Five Tigers Sect. I almost died back then, and I only survived because of his wholehearted protection."
Xie Jingyuan paused, seemingly failing to process this for a moment. Then, a strange expression appeared on his face as he silently scrutinized the bald man before him.
Feng Yin felt he looked like a farmer eyeing the pig that had just dug up his prized cabbage.
Under Xie Jingyuan’s gaze, Hong Yuan instantly broke into a cold sweat. He hastily raised his hand as if swearing an oath, stammering, "I-I-I, Old Xie and I... it happened naturally! There was absolutely no coercion! Besides... I can’t even beat her in a fight!"
As he spoke, the tall, muscular man slightly shrank his head and back. Despite his towering height of nearly 1.9 meters, his aura seemed to wither down to that of someone barely 1.5 meters tall.
Xie Jingyuan nodded noncommittally and looked at Xie Yanran. "Yanran, I won’t interfere too much with the partner you’ve chosen for yourself. I’ll just ask one thing: is he an unforgivable scoundrel who commits crimes and atrocities?"
Xie Yanran paused, then replied softly, "He’s not exactly a good person, but his true nature isn’t bad. A reformed man is worth his weight in gold."
"Good." Xie Jingyuan finally smiled again. "My good disciple, your master is very happy today.
"You’re alive. That’s very good!"
Xie Yanran also smiled. Although the scar made it look somewhat fierce, it was a rare, relaxed smile. "Master... I... I’ve missed you so much..."
"Yay!" Seeing the tension ease, Xiao Yu immediately jumped out as if stealing the spotlight. "Eldest Martial Sister, I’m Chen Yu, the disciple Master took in last year. Just call me Xiao Yu~"
Xie Yanran had long noticed this girl who looked as if she were carved from jade. She smiled and nodded, reaching out to pat Xiao Yu’s head. "Xiao Yu, you’re very cute."
"Hehe." Xiao Yu immediately narrowed her eyes into a smile, looking like a little kitten.
At the same time, Xie Yanran turned to Feng Yin, who was standing to the side. "Feng Yin, I really didn’t expect you to run into my master before I did."
Feng Yin nodded slightly. "It was just a coincidence. So, what do we do now?"
At his question, everyone looked at Xie Jingyuan. Obviously, although the representative of the Xuan Guang Group was Xiao Yu, the backbone of this trip was bound to be Xie Jingyuan, the team leader and bodyguard.
Xie Jingyuan pondered for a moment before saying, "Although we came to Border Prison Island to rescue Yanran, we also came because we accepted an invitation from the Zero Point Consortium.
"The Zero Point Consortium and the Xuan Guang Group are negotiating an important cooperation," he continued. "This invitation is also a gesture of goodwill between both parties, so we still have to keep up appearances.
"Therefore, we’ll have to stay on this island for another three to five days to watch their Death Frenzy tournament."
He pointed a finger at Hong Yuan, then glanced at Xie Yanran and Feng Yin, stating calmly, "During this time, I will have Xiao Yu negotiate with the Zero Point Consortium so that the three of you can accompany us the whole time. When it’s time to leave the island, we’ll just take you with us."
Xie Yanran immediately lowered her head obediently, simultaneously pushing down Hong Yuan’s bald head. "We’ll follow Master’s arrangements completely."
Feng Yin also adopted a serious demeanor.
Beside them, Xiao Yu patted her chest with a proud look. "Don’t worry, Master! Leave this little matter entirely to me."

Over half an hour later, Sebastian the butler hurried over with a stack of documents and met Xiao Yu in the penthouse suite of the Giant Wheel Hotel.
He glanced at Feng Yin, who was standing silently beside Xiao Yu, and then looked with astonishment at Xie Yanran and Hong Yuan, who were standing on the other side listening to Xie Jingyuan’s lecture. He couldn’t quite figure out what was going on.
He could only respectfully hand the young girl a sheet of paper with pitifully little information on it. "Ms. Chen Yu, although the circumstances are coincidental, what Mr. Feng Yin said is true. We have retrieved the relevant data, and it shows that he is indeed not a registered prisoner on this island."
Xiao Yu smiled and nodded at him, casually taking the document. "Mr. Sebastian, your efficiency satisfies me. However, I have another request."
The old butler bowed humbly. "I am at your service."
Xiao Yu pointed at Xie Yanran and Hong Yuan, her expression nonchalant. "These two guards, I’ve taken a liking to them as well. I’ll have to trouble you to make another trip."
Sebastian was speechless.
He wondered, "Are you here for a trip or are you here to poach people?"
