“Ordinary” and “Perfect Man”

“It succeeded.”

I met the gaze of this Spell Life before me; its pure life instinct was unadulterated by any desire.

It was so fragile, so fragile that I could dominate its life with a single thought.

Because it was both a life and the spell in my hand.

I only needed a single thought to bestow or disperse its fear of death, its pursuit of glory, its reflection on the meaning of life…

Such an “ending” broke the heaviness I felt toward creating life.

It allowed me, for a brief moment, to experience a shift in perspective from an “individual” enjoying life to a… “God” creating life!

But at that moment of consciousness elevating toward divinity, I forcibly suppressed that throb of excitement.

God… what an arrogant self-title.

I simply did not like it.

At this moment, the First World Elder also noticed that kind of change in me during that brief instant, but very quickly that change returned to normal, as if it were an illusion.

“It truly succeeded.”

“It is magical… for this existence to have a life, its life sequence was actually carved out.”

I looked at the First World Elder and spoke.

Then I raised my question: “Then… does this represent that this life form has appeared before?”

“Unquestionably, yes.”

The First World Elder nodded in affirmation.

“However, in all my long years, I have never heard of anyone being able to do such a thing; it might have appeared in another form, but it has never been dominated like you have.”

“As expected, geniuses in this world are as numerous as the stars…”

I lamented.

“Is Xiao Han lamenting because you did not carve out a brand-new life form? Actually, you really do not need to be this way. The carving of life sequences is not always done by human hands; in fact, more are gestated by the great power of the void itself. The infinite void is not an exaggerated description, but truly infinite. Even if each world only gestated one life race, the infinite void worlds could still gestate the vast majority of life sequences through a brute-force method.”

“Not at all, I was just simply lamenting. You see, even a little witch like me who is not even a Transcendent can do this, so it is impossible that no one in the infinite void has ever done it, right?”

Hearing the First World Elder’s explanation becoming increasingly filled with a hint of comfort, I also hurried to explain!

I really did not care about that; it was just a simple lament!

The First World Elder was interrupted by my hurried explanation, and then she understood, giving a relieved smile: “Listen to you…”

What did she mean, “even a little witch like you who is not even a Transcendent”?

If those words were said out loud, wouldn't they draw full aggro? Was this not a roundabout way of belittling Transcendent powerhouses?

However, the First World Elder did not care about this point, because in her view, Xiao Han indeed had the right to say so.

A brief conversation defined the nature of what I was doing at this moment.

However, the First World Elder was more clear-headed regarding this.

“Xiao Han, how about choosing a name for this category of life?”

“Eh? Me? I think I will pass… since it is a life that has already existed, there is no need for me to name it.”

I shook my head and declined the proposal.

What a joke, I was someone who was bad at naming!

Before coming to the Court of World Forging, I had named a Forest Elf Ling’er.

“Generally speaking, when a brand-new life form or race is born, their life sequence possesses its original name. If there is none, it means it is not a life sequence carved by human hands. As the discoverer of a brand-new race or a racial reviver, you have the power to leave an imprint of discovery for them, just like the Ancient Glacial Ice race; when they were revived in the Main World, we immediately knew their racial name.”

“Ah? You can even play it like that?”

Hearing the First World Elder’s words, I suddenly felt it was inconceivable, yet also felt… it was indeed feasible!

After all, no one could stop anyone from doing so, just like a climber reaching the highest peak has the right to leave a “was here” sign at the summit.

This was not destroying the environment, but a proof representing the conquest of life!

“Why not? If you do not want to define the life, Xiao Han, why not try to see its own naming?”

“There is no name… their existence on the life sequence is as clean as a blank sheet of paper.”

I shook my head.

“Then what are you waiting for?”

First World Elder urged.

After she finished speaking, she inconspicuously retracted her hand that had been trembling with a moment of excitement, as if nothing had happened.

“Alright, but I really am someone who is bad at naming…”

I sighed and said.

“How will you know if you do not try?”

At this time, Big Sis Bai encouraged from the side.

“True. Then this category of life… shall be called—Spell Life?”

I spoke.

After all, when mentioning this, my default setting for it was “Spell Life,” simply because it was born from a spell.

But in my view, this category of life was not only born from spells; no one had discovered it… which meant that this category of life had been born in some corner of the infinite void, perhaps with remnants still existing… or perhaps having vanished in an instant.

“Spell Life? It works, simple and easy to remember.”

First World Elder evaluated.

Thus, such a pure life possessed a name belonging to them.

At this moment, my attention returned to the “Spell Life” formed by the effect of the Protection of the Elemental Spirit spell.

Then I added a language endowment to it, just like how I added a “Pseudo-Memory” to Ling’er in the Dungeon World before; this memory was pure information and memory, and would not rewrite the life’s cognitive guidance.

“Mas… ter…”

A very faint call was issued from within the elf-like phantom before me.

This “Master” of it was a respectful title issued toward its creator, which was me.

All the meaning of its birth originated from me, so it was naturally willing to give everything for me, including its life.

“I am here.”

I looked at it with a complex gaze.

It could not understand my mood at this moment; unconsciously, I felt an uncrossable “lifespan theory” separating me from the other party.

But… lifespan was merely the span of time.

“It can speak?”

First World Elder looked at it with surprise.

“Yes, I created a Pseudo-Memory using the template of the language contract.”

I explained.

“Will it desire to live a bit longer?”

“No. Although I could make it so, I… will not do that.”

I shook my head and said.

“Is that so? The correct choice. I thought you would treat them as you treat the Fool’s Dream.”

“The Fool’s Dream is special.”

“Special? I suppose so.”

The First World Elder did not say anything more.

In her view, if Xiao Han held special thoughts and persistence toward these Spell Lives, which were destined to fade, it would actually be a bad thing.

Even though she upheld a mindset of not interfering too much in Xiao Han’s choices, she still had to clarify these relationships for Xiao Han.

But looking at it now… it seemed there was no longer a need for that.

Next, I tested every elemental spirit within the Protection of the Elemental Spirit spell, trying time and again, constantly modifying to achieve the most perfect attunement.

However, I only tested this one spell; if I were to do the same for all other spells, there wouldn't be enough time.

Finally, after bidding farewell to the First World Elder, Big Sis Bai and I left this place together.

“Big Sis Bai, by the way, how did you get to the Court of World Forging and meet the First World Elder?”

Once we were out, I asked with great curiosity.

Big Sis Bai was clearly not brought in by the Academy Head like I was at first, because there was only Big Sis Bai as a witch there.

“Me? I was messaged by First World Elder through the Seed of Great Knowledge. Before arriving there, I did not expect that I would go to such a place.”

Big Sis Bai reminisced for a bit; even now, she was constantly lamenting.

Regarding the matters of the Court of World Forging, I had mentioned it to Big Sis Bai, though I had not spoken in too much detail, as it concerned an existence like the First World Elder.

“Ha? Was it that plain and unadorned?”

“Yes, so I did not expect it either. First World Elder also told me that my contact information was obtained through Academy Head Mei Linde.”

“Then… what exactly did the First World Elder want with you? Was it really the dream state domain order?”

I asked.

This meeting, after an interlude, had basically belonged to the exchange between me and the First World Elder.

If it were not for the fact that I was the one who actively called Big Sis Bai, I would have thought the First World Elder used Big Sis Bai to get me to go there.

“Yes, it was like that at first. She was very interested in the concept of the dream state domain and also enjoyed hearing me recount my understanding of the Primal Dream State. She did not interfere at all, nor did she correct me; she just listened to me speak.”

“Is that so? Not interfering is perhaps correct. The concept of the Primal Dream State is very abstract; one could say that whatever cognition an individual has of it, it will present a corresponding posture. The Primal Dream State is like a white cloth; any cognition of it is a perspective of looking at it, rather than an incorrect viewpoint that can be denied.”

“Truly? What if I felt that the Dream State was reality?”

Big Sis Bai heard my explanation and subconsciously sought a loophole.

“It is not impossible.”

I raised my head and looked at Big Sis Bai.

Then my figure shrunk entirely, transforming into the posture of a Fool’s Dream.

The unfinished Great Dream Transformation Spell!

In the next moment, my body dreamified; the body existing in reality entered the Primal Dream State.

But in a situation where the dream had not invaded reality, Big Sis Bai could still see me in my “dream posture”!

Having entered the dream, my body floated up without any leverage until I was at roughly the same height as Big Sis Bai.

“Big Sis Bai, guess what posture this is?”

“Is this the… dreamification you mentioned to me, Xiao Han?”

Big Sis Bai’s eyes widened.

“Correct one should say it is the dreamification of reality. However, this talent is not yet completely perfected, and it also cannot perfectly explain the question you just mentioned. But I feel… one can still look forward to it.”

“It truly is magical, the more I look, the more magical it gets.”

“Is that not what Transcendent is? Turning the impossible into the possible. Perhaps that was my initial cognition of Transcendent.”

“Turning the impossible into the possible? What a strange viewpoint. The former me, and not just me but many classmates, our cognition of Transcendent was merely powerful force. In your mouth, force has instead become a by-product of the possible. Perhaps this is the gap between a genius and the ordinary?”

“Not at all Transcendent can also be force. Have you forgotten that sentence? The one I always say!”

“Whatever angle you use to understand Transcendent, Transcendent will respond to you in that way.”

Big Sis Bai took up the sentence.

“That is it! Exactly that sentence!”

I responded happily: “Let us not talk about that. Big Sis Bai, did the First World Elder say anything else to you?”

“Other things… hmm…… she also talked to me about my major, the Ordinary Project, and then there was…”

“There was what?”

“It was, Xiao Han, have you heard the First World Elder mention the ‘Perfect Man’ concept?”

Big Sis Bai suddenly asked.

“Eh? Perfect Man? Why would First World Elder mention that to you?”

I asked back in disbelief.

First World Elder had mentioned this to me as well, and even told me that even Academy Head Mei Linde did not know much about this concept, and that Academy Head Mei Linde learned it from her.

Was she now mentioning it once to every witch she met?

“It seems Xiao Han knows.”

Big Sis Bai saw my reaction and quickly realized many issues.

“Correct, the First World Elder indeed mentioned this concept to me.”

“Why? Purely curious. Does the Perfect Man not represent perfect life? Big Sis Bai, are you also secretly researching things related to the life domain?”

In my Fool’s Dream posture, I circled around Big Sis Bai, quite curious.

“This… it probably does not count? According to the First World Elder’s words, the reason she mentioned this to me was mainly related to my witch project.”

“Project? Ordinary?”

When I put the two terms “Ordinary” and “Perfect Man” together, I suddenly felt an indescribable realization.

Two almost unrelated terms caused me to associate a long string of possibilities and impossibilities.

“Correct. The First World Elder said that within the great project of the soul, there is also a branch attempting to interpret the unreachable realm of the Perfect Man, and that is Ordinary. What is a Perfect Man? What kind of existence is a Perfect Man viewed from an ordinary perspective? First World Elder said many words that were difficult even for me to understand, but between the lines, she was asking what kind of witch I wanted to become.”

“……”

I listened to Big Sis Bai’s account, and suddenly, at a certain moment, I seemed to understand!

The Ordinary Project, when not linked with the Perfect Man, was a “Jack-of-all-trades” springboard project.

An Ordinary Project was a springboard leading toward other projects, especially when one had not yet decided on the path for their life.

An Ordinary Project allowed a witch to quiet her heart and ponder in what way she should realize her value and goals.

The Ordinary Project was not a project that could be delved into forever… the Perfect Man was also a notion existing in theory, completely unreachable.

Perhaps the Perfect Man presented a different posture in everyone’s heart, so only with Ordinary as a premise can one decide how to “incubate” their own path.
