Chapter 2243: Pan Gu's Corpse

Xi He and Nu Ying did not know what Ye Fan was going to do.

Ye Fan’s cultivation level is now unfathomably high, and even his whereabouts have started to become mysteriously unpredictable. Xi He and Xuan Nu have tried to track Ye Fan’s movements, but it seems like an almost impossible task now.

“Ye Fan, what exactly are you going to do?” Nu Ying asked first. She had more courage than Xi He to question Ye Fan, whereas Xi He usually just followed orders.

“There’s no need for you to ask!”

As Ye Fan extended a hand, Nu Ying felt herself wrapped in a strange force emanating from Ye Fan, which made her somewhat unwilling.

Previously, she was controlled by Xuan Nu to do things she didn’t wish to do. Now, the one who coerced her had become Ye Fan, whose cultivation level was so high that she couldn’t even see the direction for struggle, and mentally, she had completely given up, knowing she stood no chance against Ye Fan.

Xi He appeared very calm as the two women were taken by Ye Fan directly to an empty-looking cosmic space.

Apart from some distant starlight, there was no other light to be seen, making it seem like a place devoid of any living entities. Ye Fan seemed to be contemplating something in the void.

“Why did you bring us here?” Nu Ying asked, somewhat dissatisfied, her dissatisfaction stemming from Ye Fan not showing her enough respect.

Ye Fan did not answer her, as he closed his eyes, feeling something. Eventually, a space tunnel appeared in front of Ye Fan, seemingly connecting to a mysterious place outside.

“Do we go in?” Xi He asked, “But we don’t know where it leads.”

Xi He also cast a probing glance at Ye Fan, hoping to get an answer from him, but Ye Fan wouldn’t answer her question. After a long time, Ye Fan shook his head and said, “This wasn’t created by me, why should I go in? Let’s wait and see if something might come out from there!”

Xi He was full of questions but did not dare to speak further. Just as she hesitated, something resembling a human form indeed came out from the space.

Because the object was small, when it emerged from the space tunnel, the human-like shape seemed to be coming towards Ye Fan, though Xi He didn’t know whether it was driven by Ye Fan’s power.

When the object arrived in front, Xi He’s face was full of surprise, because, to be accurate, what they saw was Pan Gu’s body, or something very similar to Pan Gu’s body.

“Is the master here to find him?” Xi He asked Ye Fan in surprise.

Ye Fan did not answer accurately, as he too observed the Pan Gu before him, who had seemingly become a corpse, a person who was already dead, yet still with a vast amount of power inside his body, though this power seemed merely concentrated within Pan Gu’s body, not utilized by anyone or any force.

“What’s this about?” Nu Ying examined the terrifying scene and asked.

Ye Fan shook his head and said, “Clearly, some people want to tell me that Pan Gu is dead!”

“Some people? Who? Nuwa’s avatar, or Pan Gu himself? Or those unknown forces?” Xi He appeared very surprised, with her question seeming strange, as if she had realized something, supposedly she shouldn’t be able to see Pan Gu’s corpse.

Ye Fan said, “With Pan Gu’s immense power, if dead, his internal energy would explode, potentially destroying the entire universe, but the fact that it remained concentrated here after his failure seems quite strange, doesn’t it?”

Nu Ying said curiously, “But his energy remains concentrated here; his cultivation is so high that I cannot detect it, yet I feel… no one should be able to utilize his power, especially since Nuwa’s avatar’s power isn’t Spiritual Energy; how could she absorb Pan Gu’s power?”

“Master, this is what I believe too,” Xi He said. “Previously, I have seen Nuwa’s avatar, and confirmed her identity… Surely, master can verify this matter too? Nuwa’s avatar didn’t perish in this battle, which implies something must have happened to Pan Gu, yet Pan Gu’s energy remains concentrated here, even if this is just a valueless corpse. It means Pan Gu’s life has ended!”

Ye Fan sneered coldly, “Life and his Soul Body are two different matters!”

“Ah?” Xi He said in shock, “Does master mean Pan Gu’s Soul Body is safe, or was it utilized by Nuwa’s avatar? That… is truly terrifying!”

Ye Fan sighed, “Some things are more complicated than I imagined; I didn’t expect Pan Gu’s energy to be within his corpse. This implies, even if Pan Gu survives through some form of Spiritual Sense, he still can’t utilize this power. Does he have the courage to abandon all his previous cultivation and adopt another way to obtain supreme power?”

“Who would have such courage? Impossible!” Nu Ying said.

“Indeed, it is impossible,” Xi He agreed. “With Pan Gu’s immense power, even compared to the master, he wouldn’t necessarily fail. Why would he do that? In my view, it seems Pan Gu intended to use this battle to absorb Nuwa’s avatar’s power, but it backfired instead. As I see it, Pan Gu has utterly failed and surely won’t threaten the master again, even if his power exists in another form!”

Ye Fan said nothing more, directly condensing Pan Gu’s corpse into a small light sphere, whose power not only made Xi He and Nu Ying feel fearful but also somewhat covetous.

If one could acquire this power, it would mean inheriting Pan Gu’s power, though whether their bodies could absorb it remains another matter.

Ye Fan said, “Now Pan Gu leaves the last proof of his existence, is it meant to stop me from searching further? The tribulation has not yet officially ended, yet many things seem on the brink of conclusion, making me feel a strong undercurrent is surging, ultimately targeting me!”

“Does master sense a crisis?” Xi He asked.

Ye Fan glanced at Xi He and said, “Xi He, I can sense that your ambition is bigger than mine. The life I envision is somewhat different from yours; although I don’t remember past affairs, certain things belonging to the soul don’t change. I believe I never had ambitions of conquest, yet you… I can detect, you desire to dominate everything more than I do.”

“This servant dares not!” Xi He said.

“But it doesn’t matter; who can blame me for lacking ambition? Perhaps after you help me achieve certain things, I might offer you this chance!” Ye Fan said.
