Invincible through Touching Corpses

Chapter 763 - 733: Total Score Surges (Part 1)

The scene was simply too abrupt. No one had expected that the Armored Corpse, renowned for its Defense Power, would be killed in an instant.

The more powerful one was, the more terrifying this moment felt. This was a Third Level Armored Corpse. After using its Talent Ability to enhance its Defense Power, its defenses were completely on par with an average expert at the Divine Demon Realm.

Yet it had been killed in a single blow.

At that moment, Shi Anzhi’s brain practically short-circuited. But before he could even react, he saw the two Death Claws that had been charging so ferociously. Now, their eyes filled with terror as they shielded their heads with their arms and turned to flee.

But their efforts were futile.

For in the instant they turned, something seemed to pierce through the arms shielding their heads from an impossible angle, then struck them squarely in the skull.

PFFT!

The tough keratinous hide on the Death Claws, which should have been incredibly durable, seemed as fragile as paper-maché. It was instantly ripped open, and whatever had hit them tore through flesh and bone to burrow deep inside their skulls.

BOOM!

Flames erupted from the bloody holes, the terrifying heat searing the Death Claws’ brains.

In just a few moments, the two Death Claws, just like the Armored Corpse before them, had been burned alive.

Just then, two more flashes of fire erupted in the distance—one down the street, and another on an adjacent one.

Those were the exact locations of the Blood Worm and the Hunter.

Evidently, the Blood Worm and Hunter hiding in the distance hadn’t escaped death’s grasp either; they had met the exact same fate.

In the span of just a few seconds, five Mutated Zombies had been dispatched with shocking ease. The sight left everyone who witnessed it in a daze.

Just then, a slender figure emerged from the green, toxic mist. He had a long rifle slung across his back and was holding a Gauss Rifle that was a size larger than standard firearms. The newcomer was clearly Lin Xinghai.

"I’ve dealt with the Mutated Zombies here, but they’ve gathered several thousand Abyssal Creatures to attack your position. The Blood Worm also released the Blood-colored Beetles from inside its body. You’ll have to take care of those yourselves. I’m heading out."

Lin Xinghai called out to Shi Anzhi from a distance, then his figure flickered and vanished from sight.

It was only then that Shi Anzhi snapped out of his stupor.

Horror was written all over his face. He had known Lin Xinghai was strong, but he never had a concrete grasp of just *how* strong.

But after seeing Lin Xinghai in action, he finally had a profound understanding of just how vast the gap between them truly was.

It could no longer be described as a mere chasm; it was an insurmountable abyss.

A crisis that could have wiped out his entire Rock Squad had been resolved by Lin Xinghai in just a few short seconds.

That’s right, a few seconds. Shi Anzhi glanced at the countdown timer on his Mecha. From the moment they had called for Lin Xinghai to the moment all the Mutated Zombies were dead, a mere thirty-odd seconds had passed.

’And to think I was so terrified before. For him, these problems weren’t even worth mentioning.’

Shi Anzhi wasn’t the only one who had come to his senses. After their initial shock, the members of the Rock Squad erupted into deafening cheers.

Even the military squad, despite not quite understanding what had just happened, couldn’t help but join in the celebration.

Just then, the officer named Old Wu walked over again, remarking in awe, "Incredible. Is this the rescue you were talking about?"

"Mm, yes." There was no reason to hide it, so Shi Anzhi simply nodded.

"Then how did he do it?" Old Wu asked immediately, his eyes filled with fervent curiosity.

Shi Anzhi gave him a strange look; he knew exactly what the man was thinking. "It’s just as you saw. All five Mutated Zombies were killed by our Captain Lin using a Gauss Rifle with Depleted Uranium Armor-Piercing Rounds."

"Of course I know that!" Old Wu said irritably. "I’m not blind. What I’m asking is, how did he use Depleted Uranium Armor-Piercing Rounds to break through the keratinous hides of those Mutated Zombies?"

Shi Anzhi rested his chin on his hand and said, "Your question isn’t specific enough. You should be asking how, while the Mutated Zombies were moving at high speed and shielding their heads with their arms, he managed to land a precision shot that could still pierce their keratinous hides."

"Hmm... let me think. Actually, that’s not quite right either. After all, these are Third Level Mutated Zombies. Just having a Depleted Uranium Armor-Piercing Round break through the hide might not be enough to kill them."

"The bullet would also need to retain enough kinetic energy to penetrate their thick muscle tissue and reach the brain. Only then could the intense heat from the Depleted Uranium Armor-Piercing Round cook their brains and ensure a kill."

"That’s what you wanted to ask, right?"

Old Wu nodded in a daze. The man had just summarized all his questions for him.

"How should I know?" Shi Anzhi said, throwing up his hands.

Old Wu was speechless with frustration. "Then why did you say all that if you don’t know?"

After a pause, Old Wu asked suspiciously, "You really don’t know?"

"Why would I lie to you about it? Maybe it’s his Superpower, a Secret Technique, or some other skill. But even if you found out, what good would it do you?"

"Putting aside whether you could even learn such a Secret Technique, what could you possibly offer in exchange? If it is a Secret Technique, it could probably be sold for the price of legendary Celestial Tier Martial Arts!" Shi Anzhi said.

Hearing this, Old Wu actually calmed down.

It was true. He had just been excited at seeing firearms used in such a terrifyingly effective way.

’He had been thinking that if he could figure it out and then equip the Divine Sharpshooters in his regiment with a few Gauss Rifles, killing Mutated Zombies would become child’s play.’

But now that he had calmed down, he understood that even if Lin Xinghai were to make the method public, it was unlikely that just anyone could learn it.

...

At that moment, Lin Xinghai had no idea just how profoundly he had shocked Shi Anzhi and the others.

Of course, he had anticipated something like this when he devised the plan.

After all, very few people had truly seen him fight before. Aside from the Xinghai Squad, there were only experts like Zuo Wenyao.

This time, however, he had created a plan to rescue everyone, which meant he was destined to fully display his strength before the entire student body.

So, causing a sensation was inevitable.

However, he wasn’t particularly concerned about the kind of stir he would cause among the students.

After all, once the academy tournament was over, he would return and break through to the Body Shaping Realm. At that point, he would truly possess strength comparable to an expert in the Divine Demon Realm.

At that time, the opinions of the other students would be of no concern to him.

Even if a few malicious students wanted to try something, with that level of power as his foundation, it would be difficult for them to have any effect on him.
