That attack, one could say, was the turning point for the entire high-level battlefield. After failing to break through even under those circumstances, the Abyssal Plane gradually slowed the pace of its attacks.

Of course, everyone knew that their ability to kill three Shadow Demons and three Succubi at the cost of a single death wasn’t due to their own immense combat power. It was simply because there were enough Divine Demon Realm experts present, and nothing more.

Initially, due to the tense state of the war, a maximum of 30 Divine Demon Realm experts could be deployed to defend the Abyssal Passage.

But later, the rescue team composed of Zuo Wenya and Chen Yushi had a sudden, explosive burst of effectiveness. They took over the entire rescue mission for Zone C, freeing up 20 Divine Demon Realm experts to come here as reinforcements.

And that wasn’t all. After stabilizing Zone C, the team went to Zone B, and then Zone A.

Under these circumstances, more and more Divine Demon Realm experts were assigned to the Abyssal Passage. In the end, a full 100 of them were gathered here.

Keep in mind, even counting the batch of experts created by the "God Creation Plan," the total number of Divine Demon Realm experts in the entire warzone was less than 200. This single location accounted for more than half of them.

Such a deployment was unbelievable. Normally, it would have been impossible, as a single misstep could have caused the entire front to collapse.

But they did it. And the reason was simply a rescue team made up of only three people.

So, everyone knew that, in truth, the ones who had contributed the most to this war were those three.

Among these three, aside from Zuo Wenya and Chen Yushi, there was also Lin Xinghai—someone they had all heard of but never met.

No one present doubted the talent of this genius, Lin Xinghai. From what they understood, he had broken through to the Marrow Tempering Realm just two months after the school year began. That alone was a feat no one could match.

On top of that, he had even created a Heaven-defying Level Secret Technique like ’Life-Sacrificing Strike.’ This accomplishment could only be described as that of a Demon.

But all this only proved that Lin Xinghai was highly talented. As for his actual combat power, no one had really paid it much mind.

After all, in their eyes, ’a Marrow Tempering Realm Martial Artist, no matter how strong, is still limited.’

This time, however, Lin Xinghai had completely subverted their perception.

The people present, even if they weren’t very familiar with Zuo Wenya and Chen Yushi, had at least seen them in action before.

Therefore, they all knew that neither Chen Yushi nor Zuo Wenya possessed that kind of dominating combat power.

But the rescue team they formed had indeed achieved such a feat. It was self-evident, then, who was responsible for it.

Just as everyone was lost in sighs and reflections, the first ray of morning sun pierced through the now much-thinner green fog and shone upon them.

At the same time, the Abyssal Passage wavered slightly.

But this time, the fluctuation from the Abyssal Passage was very faint. A few Abyssal Corpse Ghosts emerged. Upon seeing this, a smile couldn’t help but appear on everyone’s faces.

Then, they simply watched as the few Abyssal Corpse Ghosts scouted the area before quickly retreating back through the Abyssal Passage.

Following that was a First Level "Hunter."

After this "Hunter" emerged, it saw the group of Divine Demon Realm experts not far away and was so terrified its legs went limp.

But it soon discovered that those people weren’t attacking it; they were just standing in the distance, watching quietly.

The "Hunter" gradually grew a bit bolder. After wandering around the area, it too quickly ducked back into the Abyssal Passage.

Next came Second Level Mutated Zombies, and then Third Level Mutated Zombies.

It was obvious the enemy was probing, testing to see where humanity’s bottom line was.

As for the Mutated Zombies that emerged, the Divine Demon Realm experts acted as if they didn’t see them, allowing them to come and go as they pleased.

Finally, a violent fluctuation came from the Abyssal Passage. This time, it was a Fourth Level "Death Claw" that emerged.

Only then did Admiral Huo Feiteng, who had been standing before the crowd with his eyes closed in rest, finally open them.

He spoke calmly, but his voice, amplified by the vibrations of his Blood Qi Power, rang out with perfect clarity within a ten-thousand-meter radius.

"Go back and tell the one in charge on the Abyssal Plane that as long as you don’t send over members of the 108 Royal Families, anything else goes."

After speaking, Huo Feiteng looked at the people behind him. "Whether it understood or not, we should make a gesture. According to the plan, have half our people retreat."

Soon, the heavily injured or weaker Divine Demon Realm experts began to withdraw one after another. In the end, only 50 people remained.

Of course, those people hadn’t truly left. They were merely hiding at an outpost two kilometers away. At such a short distance, they could rush back at a moment’s notice if a battle broke out.

Furthermore, at least several dozen cruise missiles were aimed at this location. If anything went wrong, they could immediately seal off the Abyssal Passage completely.

’The ideal situation would be to make it so the Abyssal Plane can only send over Mutated Zombies below the Fourth Level.’

But Huo Feiteng knew this was impossible. ’If the Abyssal Plane sees no hope of victory, they won’t continue to send troops. The likely outcome would just be them sealing this passage.’

’That wasn’t the result the military wanted.’

’Right now, both sides needed to strike a balance—to let the Abyssal Plane see a glimmer of hope that they could break through the human defenses, but not enough to give them an actual advantage. It would be best to maintain a stalemate.’

’Of course, he had made his stance clear, but the final decision still rested with the Abyssal Plane.’

So, after making the arrangements, Huo Feiteng closed his eyes again, continuing to regulate his internal energy and prepare for any eventuality.

As for the "Death Claw," it was unclear if it understood. It stared silently at the crowd for a moment before turning and returning into the Abyssal Passage.

After that, the Abyssal Passage fell silent for two minutes. Then, a spatial fluctuation emanated from it. This time, the fluctuation wasn’t very pronounced, but it was continuous.

Then, the crowd saw them emerge—one, two, three... swarms of Mutated Zombies poured out. Of course, these Mutated Zombies weren’t strong; they were a mix of First, Second, and Third Level. Among them were also numerous Abyssal Creatures.

Clearly, the situation had reverted to its previous state. The Abyssal Plane was sending troops over on a large scale, but there were not many top-tier, Fourth Level Mutated Zombies.

It was clear that both sides had reached a sort of tacit agreement. Neither would deploy their strongest forces, instead letting their soldiers wear each other down, continuously depleting the other’s war potential.

Seeing this, a smile finally appeared on Huo Feiteng’s face. The objective had truly been achieved.

From now on, this place, the 11th Abyssal Passage, would become a long-term battlefield.
