Invincible through Touching Corpses

Chapter 735 - 705: Expanding the Rescue Range (Part 1)

After hearing Zuo Wenyao’s speculations, Lin Xinghai now had a better understanding of the situation.

He also had a much clearer picture of the path forward.

For many experts in the Divine Demon Realm, once they had compensated for their Marrow Tempering Realm cultivation, breaking through to the next Realm wasn’t the greatest challenge.

The greatest challenge was figuring out how to gain a foothold in the next Realm. This was a process of trial and error, especially for the pioneers. A single misstep could lead to the complete ruin of their future prospects.

However, Lin Xinghai felt that the conclusions drawn by the other Divine Demon Realm experts were sound.

From the Blood Qi Realm, through the Marrow Tempering and Body Shaping Realms, and all the way to the Divine Demon Realm, every stage was a gradual process of strengthening the body.

Upon reaching the Divine Demon Realm, it was as if one could regress to an ancestral state, transforming into an ancient Divine Demon.

This was likely the absolute limit of what the physical body could achieve.

To continue advancing, one would likely have to shift their focus from internal to external development. This would involve using Perception Power to analyze all forms of Energy, eventually allowing them to control external forces.

In such a Realm, a person might become a fulcrum, leveraging the Power of Natural to attack.

Of course, these were all just Lin Xinghai’s speculations. The truth would only be revealed once humanity managed to break through to an even higher Realm.

But regardless, there was one thing Lin Xinghai was certain of: the stronger his Perception Power, the greater the benefits he would reap in the future.

After all, stronger Perception Power meant a greater analytical capacity. Others might only be able to analyze their own Superpowers, but Lin Xinghai suspected that wouldn’t be his limit.

After all, his Perception Power was truly far stronger than anyone else’s.

Lin Xinghai even felt he ought to carefully conceal this ability; it was potentially a secret on par with his Time Acceleration Ability.

The three of them continued to sweep through the city blocks, one by one, chatting as they went.

Ten minutes passed quickly. To Lin Xinghai’s surprise, the Blood Qi Power reserves in his heart had already increased to 1,150 points, yet there was still no sign of them reaching capacity.

’Based on my initial estimates, even if these transformed organs can store more Blood Qi Power than normal, the increase should be limited. Maybe just double the capacity.’

’In other words, a normal organ stores 750 points of Blood Qi Power, so two transformed ones should store 1,500.’

’If that were true, I should be starting to feel the limit by now. But I don’t. I’m not even close.’

’Could it be that the transformed organs don’t just double the capacity, but triple it?’ Lin Xinghai mused, his heart filled with anticipation.

However, as members of a rescue team, it was impossible for them to continue their Cultivation in peace indefinitely.

This ten-minute break was already considered a long one.

Just as they acquired another five Blood Bags, Chen Yushi finally received a rescue mission.

"There are three Abyssal Creatures in that group up ahead that should have Blood Bags. Let’s take them out and absorb the bags on the way," Zuo Wenyao suggested.

After experiencing the breakneck Cultivation speed with Lin Xinghai’s help, he now refused to waste even a single second.

Naturally, Lin Xinghai and the others had no objections to his proposal.

Soon, the three Abyssal Creatures Zuo Wenyao had pointed out were promptly dispatched by Lin Xinghai.

In addition, he also took the opportunity to kill a Mutated Zombie within range with his Gauss Rifle.

During those ten minutes, Lin Xinghai hadn’t been solely focused on his Cultivation. He would unhesitatingly shoot down any Mutated Zombie that entered his range.

In those ten minutes, the trio had swept through eight entire streets, turning them into a vacuum devoid of Mutated Zombies.

The number of Mutated Zombies Lin Xinghai had killed was a staggering 51, and he had helped at least five other cleanup teams out of tight spots.

It was safe to say that even in this capacity, their contribution was in no way inferior to killing Fourth Level Mutated Zombies.

"Let’s go! We need to hurry. We’ve probably killed too many Mutated Zombies in this area; they’re starting to consciously move away. We’ll switch locations later," Zuo Wenyao said, swallowing three Blood Bags in one gulp.

Although he had said they would absorb the Blood Bags on the way, the things would lose Blood Qi Power with every passing second they were held. Of course, swallowing them all at once was the better choice.

Chen Yushi did the same. When it came to Lin Xinghai, however, he only dared to swallow two Blood Bags at once. He was afraid something might go wrong if he took any more.

As for the two Divine Demon Realm experts, their limit for consuming Blood Bags was, of course, not as low as three. It was simply because they only had three on hand.

After all, these Divine Demon Realm experts had Physiques of twenty to thirty thousand; swallowing eight or ten Blood Bags was child’s play for them.

...

At this moment, on a street a dozen or so kilometers away from Lin Xinghai’s group, two Divine Demon Realm experts were locked in a fierce battle with a pair of "Death Claws."

They had been completely forced onto the defensive and had already experienced several close calls, barely dodging the opponent’s razor-sharp claws.

"Just hold on a little longer! The rescue team will be here in three minutes!" a man in a military uniform gasped, unleashing his Giant Strength Superpower to send a "Death Claw" flying back with a punch.

"It’s only three minutes. We’re Divine Demon Realm experts, after all. We won’t die. It just feels... a little humiliating," the other Divine Demon Realm expert, dressed in an instructor’s Combat Suit, said resentfully as he took the opportunity to retreat.

Both of them were members of the God Creation Plan. After breaking through to the Divine Demon Realm, they had been full of high spirits, feeling they could finally be put to great use.

But after truly clashing with a Fourth Level Mutated Zombie, they finally understood the meaning of powerlessness.

Having just broken through to the Divine Demon Realm Early Stage, they were essentially unable to defeat any Fourth Level Mutated Zombie they encountered.

Even now, during a mission to clear out first, second, and third-level Mutated Zombies, they had been cornered and attacked by these Fourth Level ones. The fact that they ultimately needed other Divine Demon Realm experts to come to their rescue was an indescribably frustrating feeling.

"Damn it all! I can still use ’Life-Sacrificing Strike’ one more time. How about we go all-out and fight them to the death?" the Divine Demon Realm expert in the instructor’s uniform suggested again.

"Don’t! With our current reserves of Blood Qi Power, even if you use ’Life-Sacrificing Strike,’ you’ll only be able to heavily wound one of them at best, not kill it. There are two ’Death Claws’ on the field right now; seriously injuring one is useless. We’re better off conserving our Blood Qi Power and waiting for the other Divine Demon Realm experts to arrive. Maybe then we can actually be of some help," the other man quickly urged.

The man nodded and was about to say something, but his expression suddenly changed.

Then, in perfect unison, both of them leaped onto a nearby rooftop.

In the exact spot where they had been standing, the hard concrete pavement shattered in the next instant. Fist-sized Blood-colored Beetles crawled out from the breach, surging toward them like a crimson tide.

"There’s a Fourth Level ’Blood Worm’ underground—no, and a Fourth Level ’Giant Arm’ too! Damn it, why are there suddenly so many Fourth Level Mutated Zombies?" the Divine Demon Realm expert in the military uniform exclaimed, his voice a mixture of anger and disbelief.
