Invincible through Touching Corpses
Chapter 731 - 701: Changing the Battle Situation (Part 2)
What amazed Lin Xinghai was the other man’s self-created Bloodthirsty Thirteen Sabers.
In terms of sheer sophistication, the Bloodthirsty Thirteen Sabers was only on par with an average Profound Level Martial Arts; it didn’t even reach the Earth Level.
But the greatest feature of this Sword Skill was that its power seemed to stack with each consecutive strike.
Chen Yushi was only at the Divine Demon Realm Middle Stage, yet when he unleashed the tenth saber strike, its Attack Power felt as though it was about to faintly surpass the limits of the Divine Demon Realm.
After all, the "Armored Corpse" they had just faced was at the Fourth Level Middle Stage. Even a cultivator at the Peak of the Divine Demon Realm, with the highest Attack Power, wouldn’t dare claim they could sever its head in a single blow.
’And that was only the tenth strike of the Bloodthirsty Thirteen Sabers. What about the remaining three?’
’Could they really break through the limits and elevate his Attack Power to a whole new level?’
At this thought, Lin Xinghai found himself quite tempted by this Martial Arts technique.
Of course, what truly tempted him was the method of continuously stacking power. As for the Bloodthirsty Thirteen Sabers itself, it frankly had some major flaws.
Just now, when Chen Yushi had performed the tenth strike, he had to spend a full three seconds Charging Power before he could unleash it.
What Lin Xinghai found most unacceptable was that stacking the power of the strikes not only took time, but it also required standing completely still.
This had only worked out because under his Time Acceleration Ability, the charge time was reduced to a mere 0.3 seconds, so it wasn’t a major issue.
Otherwise, if someone actually stood motionless for three seconds, they’d probably have the shit beaten out of them.
’And if the tenth strike requires three seconds of charging, how long would the final three take?’
’At that point, I’m afraid even my Time Acceleration Ability wouldn’t be enough to compensate.’
So even if Lin Xinghai were to learn the other man’s Sword Skill, he would only be interested in mastering the power-stacking technique to see if he could integrate it into his own Gun Technique.
While Lin Xinghai was pondering these things, Zuo Wenya, standing to the side, couldn’t help but sneer as he watched the smugly laughing Chen Yushi. "Alright, alright, it was just one ’Armored Corpse.’ The next time we run into a Fourth Level ’Death Claw,’ I’ll kill it in three seconds and show you how it’s done."
"Hah, give me a break! If you’re so tough, why don’t you try killing an ’Armored Corpse’ in three seconds?" Chen Yushi retorted with disdain.
A vein throbbed on Zuo Wenya’s forehead, but the frustrating part was that he really couldn’t do it. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have let Chen Yushi take the first fight.
Meanwhile, Chen Yushi was already trying to cozy up to Lin Xinghai. Having just experienced it in actual combat, he realized Lin Xinghai’s Time Acceleration Ability was even more terrifying than he had imagined.
His Bloodthirsty Thirteen Sabers was an extremely aggressive technique—in fact, it could *only* be aggressive, leaving no room for maneuver.
But with Time Acceleration, everything was different. The enemy moved so slowly that he could quickly identify weaknesses in its defense and strike with ease. An originally rigid and ferocious attack was now executed with incredible agility.
That was how he was able to so skillfully bypass all of its defenses with the final strike and take its head in one clean cut.
Seeing Chen Yushi approach to get friendly, Lin Xinghai didn’t hold back. He directly expressed his admiration, adding that he was particularly curious about the powerful Bloodthirsty Thirteen Sabers and wanted to learn more.
Now it was Chen Yushi’s turn to be conflicted. But then he remembered the Life-Sacrificing Secret Technique that Lin Xinghai had offered. Gritting his teeth, he said that after the war was over, he would teach Lin Xinghai his Bloodthirsty Thirteen Sabers.
The three of them walked off, chatting as they went, leaving Yang Junda and his soldiers standing there, stunned and bewildered.
Everything had happened so fast. From the moment the group arrived to the moment they killed the "Armored Corpse" and left, the entire process had taken only about ten seconds.
In fact, it was only after the trio had departed that the soldiers began to process what had just happened.
"Sir, who was that expert from the Divine Demon Realm? His power is terrifying! He killed the ’Armored Corpse’—famous for having the strongest Defense Power—in just ten strikes. If he ran into a Mutated Zombie that didn’t have strong defenses, wouldn’t he be able to kill it in just one or two?" someone exclaimed in awe.
Yang Junda remained silent, unsure of how to respond. In truth, as someone in the Body Shaping Realm, he knew far more than his soldiers.
From what he understood, before a Divine Demon Realm expert re-cultivated the Marrow Tempering Realm, they likely couldn’t defeat a Fourth Level Mutated Zombie of the same Level, even while piloting a Legendary Level Mecha.
But the Divine Demon Realm expert who had just arrived had killed that Fourth Level Mutated Zombie so easily—and without even using a Mecha.
It felt like watching someone from the Divine Demon Realm fight someone in the Body Shaping Realm. If he hadn’t been certain he’d sensed the man’s aura correctly, he would have suspected this expert had already surpassed the Divine Demon Realm.
Just then, Yang Junda’s communication channel chimed as a call was forcibly connected.
He knew very well that only the Staff Office had that kind of authority.
"Outpost 135, how much longer can you hold on? I just submitted your report, and we’ve tweaked the operational plan. Air support will be arriving over your position in thirty seconds. Hold fast," the person on the other end said urgently the moment the channel opened.
"There’s no need," Yang Junda replied subconsciously, his voice distant.
After a brief silence, the voice on the other end asked, "Has the outpost been breached? If so, take your remaining soldiers and immediately head to the neighboring Outpost 136 to assist their defense. We absolutely cannot lose another strongpoint."
"Uh... no, you’ve misunderstood," Yang Junda quickly explained. "What I mean is, the crisis has been resolved. A Divine Demon Realm expert came by and hacked that ’Armored Corpse’ to death in less than ten seconds."
Hearing this, the other side fell silent for a noticeable moment before asking, "Was there only one Divine Demon Realm expert in the rescue party?"
"Yes!" Yang Junda answered instinctively, but then immediately corrected himself. "Uh... I misspoke. There were three people in the rescue party."
The shock of seeing Chen Yushi in action had been so great that he’d almost completely overlooked Zuo Wenya and Lin Xinghai, who had been with him.
"Three people?" the voice on the Communication Device sounded even more puzzled.
"Yes, three of them. But one wasn’t a Divine Demon Realm expert. He was wearing a suit of Battle Armor, so I couldn’t see his face, but judging from his aura, I think he was... in the Marrow Tempering Realm." As he said the last part, even Yang Junda sounded uncertain.
The idea of someone from the Marrow Tempering Realm operating alongside two experts from the Divine Demon Realm just sounded bizarre.
"Alright, I understand," the person on the other end said before disconnecting the call.
...
Meanwhile, at the military headquarters dozens of kilometers away, a staff officer who had just put down his Communication Device had a look of utter confusion on his face.
He glanced at the data on the screen before him and fell into deep thought.
But soon, he swiped the screen, hovered his finger over Chen Yushi’s contact number, and finally, tapped it.
