Chapter 697: Chapter 641: The Gray Demon King Comes to Settle the Score (Part 2)
Su Rushi hid behind Azure Owl and cried out in fear, "Xiaoleng, protect me!"
"Thousand Mile Ice Seal."
Instantly, a lazy voice echoed through the area. The Purple Bamboo Forest was plunged into a deep freeze as the temperature plummeted.
SWOOSH...!
A blast of deep blue energy swept forth like a raging storm. Wherever it passed, the Rat Monsters were turned into ice sculptures, one after another.
In the blink of an eye, the ground was covered with the ice sculptures of Rat Monsters. The only ones unaffected were Azure Owl, Su Rushi, and, of course, the Mouse Queen.
The Mouse Queen stood dumbfounded, her body trembling. ’This is bad,’ she thought. ’I’m really in trouble this time.’
’What kind of power is this? It can immobilize me with an unseen force and turn hundreds of Peak Rank Two Rat Monsters into statues in an instant.’
Then, a brilliant, exquisite little snake appeared before the Mouse Queen, regarding her with a pair of luminous, intensely cold snake eyes.
The sight sent a chill down her spine, filling her with dread.
"I told you to scram, yet you tried to kill my people, didn’t you?" Tu Xiao’an said, looking coldly at the audacious Mouse Queen.
’Does she really think she’s some big shot?’
"So, you’re from the Snake Race." The moment she saw the snake, the Mouse Queen understood everything. The Snake Race and the Rat Race were mortal enemies, locked in a feud to the death. They had even fought a war between their races in the Yaoling Mountain Range not long ago.
Only someone from the Snake Race would be so bold as to show her, the Mouse Queen, such blatant disregard.
"What do you think you’re doing to me? I am the Mouse Queen! Do you want another war between the snakes and rats? You are but a single snake. Can you bear that responsibility?"
Hearing this, Tu Xiao’an laughed. "Of course I can bear it. I’m more worried you can’t. You’re just one Mouse Queen. If you die, the Gray Demon King can always find a new one."
"My King will not spare you! If you leave now, I can let this matter go," the Mouse Queen said, suppressing her fear and bluffing with the King’s authority.
"You have a ridiculous sense of superiority for a female rat. You think far too highly of yourself. Now, revert to your true form!"
Tu Xiao’an’s snake-like eyes flashed, and a powerful wave of Consciousness Power pressed down upon the Mouse Queen.
The Mouse Queen’s body trembled in terror. Coarse rat fur sprouted from her heavily made-up face. Her features sharpened, her hands turned to claws, and finally, she was forced back into her true form: a large rat.
"No, no!" the Mouse Queen shrieked in despair. All women cherish their beauty, and as a female rat, once she had achieved her human Transformation, she never wanted to return to her former, ugly appearance.
Especially since she was the Mouse Queen! How could she revert to being a common rat?
But she was powerless to resist. After reverting to her true form, her body continued to shrink until she was the size of a normal mouse. Her fur, however, was quite beautiful—a pure, snowy white.
STOMP...!
A foot planted itself on the snow-white Mouse Queen. Azure Owl bent down, grabbed the little white mouse by the tail, and swung her around in the air dozens of times until she was completely disoriented. Azure Owl giggled. "Ugly thing, have you learned your lesson? That’ll teach you to be so smug."
"SQUEAK SQUEAK..."
The Mouse Queen let out a miserable shriek.
"My King, help me! Save me!"
Forced back into her true form and humiliated by being dangled by her tail, the Mouse Queen was terrified enough to send a desperate telepathic message.
Hundreds of miles away, in a cave abode, the Gray Demon King of the Rat Race was blissfully enjoying a massage from a beautiful Fox Demon.
He was in an excellent mood.
When it came to the various races, the transformed Demon Spirits of the Fox Race were by far the most beautiful. As a great Deep Mountain Demon King, he had gone to great trouble to procure a Fox Demon for his personal service.
He had invested heavily in this Fox Demon. Originally, she was just a Rank Two Fox Spirit who, knowing she had no hope of advancing on her own, had sought his patronage.
The Gray Demon King, wanting a Fox Beauty to enjoy, had poured resources into her, forcibly raising the Fox Spirit to a Rank Three Demon Spirit.
He had fed her vast quantities of Heavenly and Earthly Treasures and had even helped her through her Tribulation Crossing.
Now, it was finally time for him to enjoy the return on his investment.
"My King, is my massage to your liking?" the Demon Fox asked with a fawning expression, her flirtatious gaze utterly captivating.
"Comfortable... so comfortable," the Gray Demon King moaned in satisfaction. ’This investment was worth it,’ he thought. Before, this Fox Beauty was just an ordinary Fox Race Demon, but after her Transformation, she became a world-class beauty.
She was leagues more beautiful than his Mouse Queen.
The main drawback of the rat lineage was its inability to produce true beauties.
The Mouse Queen he had chosen was considered top-tier among the Rat Race, but compared to a fox, the difference was like night and day.
"Beauty, serve me well, and I shall not treat you poorly."
The Fox Beauty batted her eyelashes and cooed, "My King, this little fox betrayed her own race for you. From now on, you are my heaven and my earth."
"Haha... Now that’s what I like to hear! Come here, my beauty!" With that, the Gray Demon King could no longer restrain himself and pounced on the Fox Beauty.
But just at that moment, a voice cried out in his mind. "My King, help me! Come save me!"
The Gray Demon King froze. ’Was that my Mouse Queen calling for help?’
’Who would dare lay a hand on my Queen? Do they have a death wish?’
’Or is she just playing a prank on me?’
’No, the voice in the message was too urgent. It sounded like her life was in danger.’
"My King, what is it?" the Fox Beauty asked, looking puzzled.
The Gray Demon King frowned. "My Queen is calling for help."
"Giggle... My King, you must be joking. Who in the entire Yaoling Mountain Range would dare to harm your Queen?" the Demon Fox continued her fawning. "Perhaps she found out you were... dallying with me, and this is her little ploy to get your attention?"
Hearing this, the Gray Demon King nodded instinctively. His Mouse Queen was notoriously petty and jealous, always afraid he would find a beauty from another race and neglect her.
"Haha, you make a good point, my beauty. Let’s not worry about it. Let’s continue where we left off."
"My King, please be gentle!"
Another telepathic message arrived, even more desperate than the last. "My King, hurry and save me! Someone from the Snake Race is going to kill me!"
"The Snake Race?" ’No, she’s really in danger.’ The Gray Demon King shot upright, suddenly serious. While he wasn’t particularly fond of his Queen, she was still the most beautiful Rat Demon in their race and his first, official wife.
No matter how beautiful this Fox Demon was, she could never take that title.
WHOOSH...!
The Gray Demon King shot out of the cave.
...
Inside Rushi Pavilion, a sweet smile graced Su Rushi’s face. Ever since she’d left, not a moment had passed that she hadn’t thought of this place.
"Xiaoleng, thank you. I can’t believe I’m standing here again."
The exquisite little snake shook his head. "Don’t thank me, it was nothing. It’s just... a rat was living in this pavilion. I’m afraid it might be a little dirty."
"It’s okay, I can clean it myself!" Su Rushi said, then looked at the little snake expectantly. "Can I really move back in now?"
She knew that her Rushi Pavilion had been seized by someone with a powerful backer, so she couldn’t help but worry.
Tu Xiao’an paused for a moment. He glanced at the female rat dangling from Azure Owl’s hand and smiled. "Of course you can. Stay for as long as you like."
"That’s wonderful! I’ll go tidy up, then," Su Rushi said, happily running off to another room.
Just then, Tu Xiao’an seemed to sense something. He floated to the window, transformed into his human form, and snatched the Mouse Queen from Azure Owl’s hand. "Go help her tidy up," he said lightly. "Don’t let her outside, and don’t let her look out the window, no matter what happens."
"What’s going on?" Azure Owl asked, confused.
Tu Xiao’an gave her a mysterious smile. "The real master of the house is here to settle the score."
"My King is here! None of you will get out of this alive!"
The Mouse Queen in his hand shrieked, her voice filled with soaring hatred.
"Did I say you could speak?" Tu Xiao’an said, grabbing her by the tail and slamming her hard against the wall.
"AIIEE..." The Mouse Queen cried out as she slammed into the wall, tears welling up in her eyes from the pain.
"And you call yourself a Rank Three Demon Spirit," Tu Xiao’an said, exasperated. He couldn’t believe such a light toss could make a Demon Spirit cry. ’Pathetic.’
This Mouse Queen was truly spoiled rotten.
Suddenly, dark clouds gathered over the pavilion, plunging the sky into darkness. A fierce wind began to howl, and a voice filled with rage thundered, "Who dares harm my Queen?!"
"Haha, my King is finally here! You’re all dead meat!"
A massive, ethereal rat’s face materialized in the sky above Rushi Pavilion, its presence spiritual and overwhelmingly fierce.
"Shut up. So what if he’s here? He’s nothing. Just another rat."
Tu Xiao’an gave a disdainful smile, then looked at Azure Owl. "Remember, whatever you do, don’t let her look outside."
’We are both Demon Kings of a certain standing. Since I’m about to face the Gray Demon King, I can’t very well appear as an exquisite little snake.’
’That would be far too undignified.’
’But I also can’t let Su Rushi see my human form. That’s why I need Azure Owl to keep an eye on her.’
"Understood," Azure Owl said, nodding as she saw the serious expression on her master’s face.
