Chapter 238: Gathering -1
Chapter 238: Gathering -1
The tomb of a Heavenly Core Realm martial artist would undoubtedly contain an immense number of treasures and profound techniques. Some of these might not even exist within the Martial Ascension Gate.
For instance, the strongest techniques possessed by the four peaks of the Martial Ascension Gate were only at the top grade of the Earth Rank. However, within such a tomb, there was a real possibility of discovering Heaven Rank martial arts, which stood on an entirely different level.
Beyond that, the tomb would likely hold powerful secret arts as well.
Within the Martial Ascension Gate, one could exchange for a fifth-tier secret art using contribution points, but that was already the limit. For someone at Li Yun’s current level, such a limit was far too restrictive.
Because of this, Li Yun’s interest in the tomb grew instantly. Moreover, the fact that the system had guided him to this very location made him even more certain that the Sword Master’s legacy might be hidden within it. Although he could not be completely sure, if he had to make a judgment, he would place his bet on this possibility without hesitation.
“A partial map? Does that mean there are other fragments of it?” Li Yun asked thoughtfully.
A single fragment would never be enough to determine the exact location of such a tomb.
Han Li nodded. “There are four copies of the map in total. They appeared at an auction, and True Disciples from four major sects took part in the bidding. My Burning Heaven Sect obtained one, while the others went to Ice God Valley, Boundless Martial Palace, and Martial Ascension Gate. Mo Tian, who is a True Disciple of the Golden Sun Sect, somehow learned that I possessed a map, which is why he ambushed us.”
Hearing that disciples from the Martial Ascension Gate were also present in this region, Li Yun raised an eyebrow. However, after a brief thought, he was not surprised. The Five Great Counties were known as places where True Disciples from the four great sects often came to temper themselves, so it was natural for others from his sect to already be here.
As for the other sects, Li Yun did not pay them much attention.
Han Li continued, “According to the map, the tomb is located near Iron Mist City. In about a week, the True Disciples who possess the map fragments will gather there. Once everyone arrives, we will move together to locate the tomb.”
“Alright, count me in. Let us head to Iron Mist City,” Li Yun said without hesitation.
Iron Mist City was not far. With their speed, they could reach it in three days.
Since such an opportunity had appeared before him, Li Yun had no intention of letting it slip away.
During their journey, the three gradually became more familiar with each other. Through their conversations, Li Yun gained a deeper understanding of Red Cloud County, which proved to be quite beneficial.
Three days later, they finally arrived at Iron Mist City.
The city stretched across more than a thousand miles and was constantly enveloped in mist.
Within the city itself, the mist was light and thin, barely affecting visibility. However, to the west of the city, the mist grew increasingly dense. Beyond a certain point, the world became a vast expanse of white, where nothing could be seen clearly.
The three of them checked into an inn to rest.
Soon, night descended.
The night passed quietly, and dawn soon arrived.
Li Yun rose early and made his way toward the Ancient Artifact Street in Iron Mist City.
Compared to places like Pill Flame City and Golden Phoenix City, the variety of goods here was far richer and more diverse. It was said that the dense mist surrounding Iron Mist City had not existed in the past. Its appearance was linked to ancient battles between extremely powerful experts.
Within that ever-present mist, vision was obscured and countless strange and unusual objects had emerged over time. These peculiar items eventually became one of the defining features of the city’s Ancient Artifact Street.
While browsing, Li Yun even purchased a section of a tree branch that continuously emitted mist, spending a full ten thousand gold coins on it.
Although he had no idea what its purpose was, its rarity alone made it valuable. Moreover, Li Yun was not lacking in wealth, so he did not mind the expense.
Four days later, the entire Green Cloud Restaurant in Iron Mist City was fully reserved.
On the third floor, Han Li, Han Xue, and Li Yun sat together at a table in a quiet corner, calmly sipping tea as they waited for the True Disciples from the other three sects to arrive.
The sound of steady footsteps echoed from the staircase.
Three young men walked up.
All three were dressed in dark robes.
The one leading them appeared to be about the same age as Han Li and had reached the sixth level of the Qi Sea Realm. The two behind him were around thirty years old, similar in age to Li Yun. One was at the seventh level of the Qi Sea Realm, while the other had reached the eighth level.
However, it was clear that both of them regarded the leading man as their superior.
“Han Li.”
The leading disciple looked at him and spoke with a faint smile that carried no warmth.
“Shi Mo.”
Han Li responded calmly, calling out the other party’s name.
Han Xue quietly transmitted her voice to Li Yun, “Brother Li, this Shi Mo is a True Disciple of the Martial Ascension Gate. His strength is extremely high, even stronger than my brother.”
Li Yun nodded inwardly. Though he hadn’t heard of Shi Mo in the sect. He knew True Disciples were never simple opponents, especially one who had reached the sixth level of the Qi Sea Realm. Even so, Li Yun remained calm. Anyone below the seventh level did not pose a real threat to him.
Shi Mo’s gaze shifted toward Li Yun. “Is this also a True Disciple of your sect? I do not recall seeing him before.”
Han Li replied, “He is Li Yun from the Martial Ascension Gate.”
