Chapter 175: Martial Dao Crystal!
Chapter 175: Martial Dao Crystal!
“What do you suggest we do, Brother Li?” Zhu Ximen asked with a frown. Even he felt troubled by the situation.
Li Yun remained silent for a brief moment before answering.
“This matter began because of me, so I will take responsibility for it.” His voice was calm but firm. “Here is what I propose. Our mission allows us nearly a month to complete it. So we still have some time, and so during this time, all of you should continue exploring the Black Wind Desert. There may be opportunities hidden here that could benefit you.”
He paused slightly before continuing.
“As for me, I will handle the situation with Xiao Fanyun. Give me one month. Once I am certain everything is under control, I will contact all of you again. What do you guys think?”
Zhu Ximen and Fu Ting exchanged glances before giving a helpless smile.
“Do we really have another choice?” Zhu Ximen said with a faint sigh.
In the end, both of them nodded in agreement.
“Good,” Li Yun said with a nod. “I will contact all of you once I have dealt with the situation. Until then, continue exploring the Black Wind Desert just like the other disciples.”
After explaining his plan, Li Yun separated from the group and went his own way.
In truth, he was not worried about Xiao Fanyun himself. The real concern in his mind was Zhu Ximen, Fu Ting, and the others.
Once they returned to the sect, Xiao Fanyun would inevitably target them. Li Yun knew that he would remain relatively safe because of his status as the New Talent King, but the same protection did not apply to his companions.
Even if he managed to protect them from Xiao Fanyun’s immediate retaliation, there was no guarantee that Xiao Fanyun would not strike when Li Yun was absent from the sect or when he was in seclusion. Someone as ruthless as Xiao Fanyun would certainly look for an opportunity.
Although Li Yun had only met Zhu Ximen and the others recently, he had already come to regard them as friends. Because of this, he was unwilling to see them placed in danger because of him. If anything were to happen to them, he knew he would carry that guilt.
“There is only one way to solve this problem,” Li Yun murmured to himself as he moved swiftly across the Black Wind Desert.
He was already considering returning to the sect when something unexpected caught his attention. A group of disciples from the Martial Ascension Gate suddenly rushed past him, all moving quickly in the same direction with urgent expressions on their faces.
“Did something happen?”
Li Yun frowned and stopped one of the passing disciples.
“Brother, what is going on?” he asked.
The disciple looked at him closely before recognizing him.
“Oh, it’s Brother Lin!” the disciple said with a serious expression. “I just heard that a group of disciples from our Martial Ascension Gate discovered a Martial Dao Crystal. Unfortunately, the news somehow reached the disciples of the Boundless Martial Palace. They have already surrounded our fellow disciples.”
The disciple pointed toward the direction where the others were heading.
“We are all going there to support them.”
After explaining the situation, the disciple did not stay any longer. He hurried away in the same direction as the others.
“Martial Dao Crystal?”
At those words, a sharp light flashed in Li Yun’s eyes. Greed quickly surfaced in his gaze. He was no longer an inexperienced cultivator who knew nothing about the treasures of the martial world. He clearly understood the value of a Martial Dao Crystal.
If the Martial Dao Sacred Fruit was already a treasure that countless cultivators would fight over, then the Martial Dao Crystal was something people would kill for without hesitation.
The value of a Martial Dao Crystal far exceeded that of the Martial Dao Sacred Fruit. A Martial Dao Crystal was formed from the remains of a powerful cultivator after death. When such an expert died, the core of their cultivation sometimes condensed into a crystal that preserved fragments of their martial understanding.
This crystal was known as a Martial Dao Crystal, and within it remained the cultivation experience and the concepts comprehended by the fallen cultivator during their lifetime.
Because of this, the value of a Martial Dao Crystal surpassed the Martial Dao Sacred Fruit by an enormous margin.
“If I can obtain that Martial Dao Crystal, I might have the chance to comprehend Flame Intent, Wind Intent, and even Lightning Intent,” Li Yun murmured quietly.
His mastery over the low grade variants of the three top grade Profound Rank cultivation arts had already reached the fourteenth layer for all three elements. They were only one step away from the complete mastery of the fifteenth layer.
Once he achieved that final breakthrough, Li Yun believed he would naturally form an Intent Seed for each of his three elements due to his extraordinary fourth tier comprehension ability.
However, if he managed to obtain the Martial Dao Crystal, things would become far easier. The crystal would allow him to transform those intent seeds into true Martial Dao Intents much more quickly.
Because of this possibility, Li Yun’s heart began to surge with excitement.
After realizing the value of the Martial Dao Crystal, Li Yun did not hesitate for even a moment. He immediately followed behind the group of Martial Ascension Gate disciples who were rushing toward the location.
As he moved through the Black Wind Desert alongside them, his mind began to focus on another issue.
Li Yun was not concerned about the disciples from the Martial Ascension Gate. None of them would pose a serious threat to him. The real problem lay elsewhere.
His thoughts turned toward the Boundless Martial Palace.
The Boundless Martial Palace was one of the four great sects of the Southern Martial Domain, standing on equal footing with the Martial Ascension Gate. Their disciples were known for their strength and arrogance. If they had already surrounded the disciples from his sect, then the situation ahead would not be simple.
Li Yun remained silent for a moment as he considered this. In the end, he simply shook his head.
“Whatever.”
A determined look appeared in his eyes.
“If I want that Martial Dao Crystal, then I will obtain it no matter the cost.”
With that thought, Li Yun increased his speed and disappeared into the distance along with the other disciples of his sect as they rushed toward the battlefield.
Of course, he had not forgotten about Zhu Ximen, Fu Ting, and the others. Their situation still remained in his mind. However, he decided that matter could wait for the time being. Once he obtained the Martial Dao Crystal, he would return to the sect and deal with the problem involving Xiao Fanyun.
Just as this thought passed through his mind, a new system notification suddenly appeared before his eyes.
