Chapter 2483 - 2484: Have You Ever Married?
Chapter 2483: Chapter 2484: Have You Ever Married?
Xue An didn’t even turn his head, just nodded. "Mm, it is a bit strange."
Right at this moment, no one knew who in the crowd threw a broken brick up onto the stage, directly cutting off Cui Zhenghao’s passionate recitation.
"Enough, I’m about to puke from listening. Fight if you’re gonna fight, if not then get the hell off!" someone shouted.
"That’s right, this is a martial contest for marriage, not a poetry slam!"
"Damn, that was so sour my teeth are falling out!"
Amid the rising shouts, Cui Zhenghao finally snapped out of his self‑indulgent trance, then smiled at Lei Rong.
"Miss Lei, I don’t think there’s any need to fight this bout at all. Just directly admit defeat, then let’s start preparing our wedding. By this time next year you can give me a big fat son—wouldn’t that be perfect?"
Lei Rong’s face flushed red, and she held it in for a long time before squeezing out two words. "Shameless!"
She felt that wasn’t enough, so she added two more.
"Arrogant!"
Lei Rong dared say that because she did have something to rely on.
Although Cui Zhenghao was reputed to be a rising star among the younger generation in Jidu City, in reality his strength was pretty mediocre.
Sometimes, when Lei Rong got really annoyed from being pestered by this guy, she would give him a minor punishment.
Usually a small bolt of lightning was enough to keep him honest for several days.
So when she heard Cui Zhenghao being so arrogant, Lei Rong couldn’t help but fill with anger.
"Heh, looks like Miss Lei still doesn’t quite believe me! In that case, today your future husband will make you lose so thoroughly you’ll have nothing to say!"
As he spoke, Cui Zhenghao tapped his toe on the ground and lunged straight at Lei Rong.
This pouncing move looked quite fierce to normal people, but to those in the know it was nothing special.
At the very least, Yue Qinghuan curled her lip. "With that level of strength he dares to brag? Really doesn’t know what death is."
Sure enough.
When she saw Cui Zhenghao lunging toward her, Lei Rong’s eyes flashed with a cold light, then she raised her hand.
Crack!
A bolt of lightning crashed straight down, striking Cui Zhenghao’s body.
In terms of both timing and power, this move was executed perfectly.
But Cui Zhenghao didn’t even try to dodge; instead he let out a wild laugh. "Perfect timing!"
As his voice fell, a dark radiance suddenly appeared on his back, just in time to block the falling lightning.
The moment the two made contact, the lightning silently dissipated.
Upon seeing this, the others were still confused, but Yue Qinghuan had already realized something and her expression changed drastically.
"Demonic qi?"
Xue An nodded and said quietly, "That’s right, demonic qi."
"But that doesn’t make sense. Just now I didn’t sense anything off about this guy at all!" Yue Qinghuan looked utterly stunned.
Even more shocked than her was Lei Rong.
She had never expected Cui Zhenghao to actually be able to block her lightning like this, so she couldn’t help panicking a little.
At the same time, Cui Zhenghao was already upon her, reaching out to grab the front of her robes.
Just then, countless arcs of lightning suddenly appeared around Lei Rong, like walls that shielded her within.
Cui Zhenghao’s body was struck by countless bolts and drowned in a flood of light.
The crowd erupted in startled cries.
"Young Master Cui is done for this time!"
"Tsk tsk, what a lovesick fool. Too bad the girl has zero interest in him!"
But just when everyone thought he was dead for sure, they suddenly heard a wild laugh from within the lightning.
"My wife is truly impressive. Isn’t this just a walking, self‑propelled power generator?"
With that, a figure burst out of the lightning and charged at Lei Rong once again.
It was Cui Zhenghao.
Only now, Cui Zhenghao looked completely different.
The clothes on his body had been blasted to shreds, revealing the charred skin underneath.
Yet even in this state, Cui Zhenghao’s body had swelled significantly.
And although he was laughing, a faint green light glowed in his eyes.
He looked...just like a corpse.
Seeing this, the whole arena gasped again.
"What kind of freakish Cultivation Technique is that?"
"No idea! I’ve never heard of the Cui Family having that kind of ability!"
Amid the murmurs, Lei Rong’s pretty face also went pale, and she shut her eyes in panic, fingers flicking rapidly.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Yet more bolts of thunder fell, smashing down onto Cui Zhenghao.
But now Cui Zhenghao completely ignored these lightning strikes, as if driven by some obsession, relentlessly lunging toward Lei Rong.
Lei Rong let out a frightened cry.
Watching from the tall building in the back, Lei Butong frowned at the sight, then snorted coldly. "What monster dares to run wild in front of me, in the domain of Lei Zun!"
As he spoke, he stepped forward, about to rush onto the arena to save his precious daughter.
Just then, a figure suddenly appeared in front of Cui Zhenghao.
A young man in white stood in his path and said in an icy tone, "You’re already dead. Why still cling to this obsession?"
At those words, a trace of confusion flashed in Cui Zhenghao’s green eyes, but it vanished instantly and he roared.
"Get out of my way, I want Miss Lei!"
With that, he raised his palm in fury and swung it toward Xue An.
But before his palm got halfway there, Xue An flipped his wrist, and a strangely‑shaped weapon suddenly appeared in his hand.
A long handle and a flat pan—it was that frying pan.
Then Xue An gave it a light swing, and from within the pan came an outraged roar.
"Fuck me, I’m really done. What the hell is this thing now?!"
Clang!
With a thunderous crash, the frying pan made intimate contact with Cui Zhenghao’s skull, and Cui Zhenghao was sent flying.
Not only that, but while he was in midair, arcs of lightning continued to flash across his body.
"Huh!"
Up in the tall building, Lei Butong stopped in his tracks at the sight, then looked Xue An and the frying pan in his hand up and down with great interest.
"Interesting, that’s actually a Lei Zun too. Shame his strength is ridiculously weak! And he’s even become an Artifact Spirit—what a disgrace to the thunder sovereigns!" Lei Butong muttered to himself.
Meanwhile, Lei Rong was a bit dumbfounded. She stood behind Xue An and asked timidly,
"L‑little brother, what on earth is going on?"
Before Xue An could answer, an ecstatic shout came from the frying pan in his hand.
"Holy shit, what did I just discover? A Lei Zun, and a rare female Lei Zun at that?"
As he spoke, a faint figure surfaced on the pan—a man wearing a broad grin, who nodded at Lei Rong.
"Young lady, I am the Nine Revolutions Thunder Sovereign, Artifact Spirit of this frying pan. I don’t know your honorable surname and given name, nor which immortal land you hail from, and whether you are already wed?"
Lei Rong’s eyes went wide as she stared at this Lei Zun in disbelief, then suddenly said, "My god, there’s actually a Lei Zun this weak in the world?"
The smile on the man’s face froze instantly.
Just then, Xue An gripped the frying pan with both hands and said calmly, "If you want to flirt, do it later. For now, deal with that guy over there first."
