The only question was... Who obtained it?

Liana? Or...

"My assistant brings me glory!" Vespera planted her hands on her hips. Her eyes reflected the shimmering glow.

"If Theo inherits this legacy, he will become the next Sect Master."

"When he is Sect Master, I will be the Grand Elder."

"Then I can spend the sect treasury on my experiments however I please!"

Vespera wiped the corner of her mouth. She looked utterly delighted.

The elders remained silent.

They didn’t even know who won the legacy. The Sect Master was still alive. Vespera was already plotting how to run amok with the treasury.

A collective shudder ran through the group.

"The Sect Master must seek approval from the peak elders to use resources," Silas declared sternly.

"I believe Liana is more likely to have obtained it," the Jade Cluster Elder said. "The cry earlier sounded like a Sovereign."

Vespera scowled. You can tell destinies by sound now?

The Sect Master laughed helplessly. "It is also possible they shared the inheritance."

Finally, the radiance filled the abyss.

Theo and Liana stepped back onto the cliff.

Theo wore a bright, satisfied grin.

Liana’s forehead faintly shimmered with a silver mark. It added a touch of divinity to her beauty.

But Theo’s smile was simply too radiant.

For a moment, no one could tell who truly obtained the legacy.

"Where is the treasure?" Vespera rushed up to Theo. She scrutinized him. She sniffed his jacket.

"Not with me," Theo spread his hands.

"Then what are you grinning about, idiot?"

All eyes turned to Liana.

"I obtained an ancient legacy," Liana confirmed. She nodded.

She knew the origins of the Aurora Spark. In everyone’s eyes, this was her first time receiving an inheritance. She shouldn’t be able to recount its origins with such familiarity, so she kept it brief.

This didn’t lessen the elders’ astonishment.

The word "ancient" held weight. Cultivation techniques improved over time. Inheritance was an exception. The older it was, the more precious it became. If it lacked significance, time erased it. Only the truly remarkable endured.

"Our sect birthed a prodigy capable of making the Hidden Dragon Ranking."

"Our history runs deep. Countless explorers returned empty-handed. Who would have thought we would see such an inheritance resurface?"

"With such unparalleled talent, Liana’s future is beyond imagination."

The crowd couldn’t contain their awe.

The elders gazed at her like a priceless treasure.

Liana pressed her lips together. She turned her gaze toward the boy not far away.

There, she saw him smiling even wider.

[Congratulations, Host. Your investment in Liana succeeded, granting her a pivotal inheritance in her life.]

[Would you like to claim your reward?]

While the ice block received admiration, Theo wasn’t envious.

He had just received feedback from the system regarding his investment.

If not for the inconvenient timing, he would claim it immediately.

"Wait till I get back to my room," Theo rubbed his hands in anticipation. He couldn’t wait to return to the Ninth Peak.

The Sect Master finally spoke in a measured tone.

"Enough. Liana, this opportunity is yours to wield. You need not explain it to anyone."

"From this day forth, Thunder Gorge is sealed."
