Adonite Academy's gates opened to a celebration unlike anything Elliot had witnessed since his arrival—the entire student body and staff gathered in the courtyard, cheers erupting the moment the strike team's formation came into view, word of their victory having apparently traveled ahead of their actual return through Cassandra's careful, coordinated communication.

"They're treating us like conquering heroes," Kael observed, visibly overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the reception awaiting them.

"We rather are, in a manner of speaking," Rose said, having remained at Adonite throughout the confrontation, her composed expression carrying genuine, evident relief at their safe return.

The reunion that followed carried a weight and warmth that settled deeply into Elliot's exhausted chest—Deria and Futaba nearly tackling him with the force of their relieved embrace, Edith immediately launching into a thorough, professional assessment of everyone's condition despite the earlier field treatment already provided, and Leonard offering a formal, heartfelt speech of gratitude before the assembled students that left few dry eyes among the crowd.

"You actually did it," Deria said, still gripping Elliot's shoulders as though verifying his physical reality. "You actually defeated him."

"We defeated him," Elliot corrected, gesturing toward the entire strike team, toward Gion and the four newly rescued fragment bearers standing somewhat uncertainly at the celebration's edge. "All of us, together."

The introduction of Gion and the new arrivals to the wider academy community proceeded with the same warm, chaotic welcome that had greeted every previous addition to their unlikely family, Futaba immediately launching into her familiar interrogation routine while Edith began the careful work of properly assessing everyone's medical needs.

"I confess," Gion admitted to Elliot, watching the celebration's warm chaos with visible, cautious wonder, "I didn't expect quite this degree of acceptance, given my own considerable history."

"Nobody here judges you for choices made under Entoma's original influence," Elliot said. "We've all learned that redemption matters more than perfect history, given everything this conflict has demanded of so many people."

As the celebration continued into the evening, transforming gradually into an impromptu feast within the academy's grand dining hall, Elliot found himself seeking out Alex and Lyanna, who had remained at Adonite throughout the confrontation, anxiously awaiting news of the strike team's fate.

"You did it," Alex said, relief and something approaching genuine, unguarded joy evident in his exhausted features. "I confess, despite everything I told you about my confidence in your capabilities, I spent the entire duration of your absence considerably more anxious than I let on."

"We couldn't have done it without your intelligence," Elliot said honestly. "The coordinates, the ritual's requirements, everything you risked to share with us."

"I'm simply grateful it proved sufficient," Alex said quietly. "And grateful, more than I can properly express, that everyone returned safely."

Lyanna, standing close beside her brother, studied Elliot with warm, genuine gratitude. "Thank you," she said. "For everything. I don't think I'll ever be able to properly repay what your rescue, and now this victory, has meant for both of us."

"You don't owe us anything," Elliot said, echoing the familiar refrain that had carried so many of their newest allies through their own difficult transitions. "Just focus on healing, and building whatever future you both choose now that you're finally free to choose it."

As the feast continued late into the evening, the assembled community celebrating their hard-won victory with genuine, unrestrained joy, Elliot found a quiet moment to slip away with Seria, both of them seeking the familiar comfort of their rooftop garden sanctuary.

"We won," Seria said again, still seeming to test the reality of that statement against everything they'd endured to achieve it.

"We did," Elliot confirmed, drawing her close against his side as they settled onto their familiar bench. "Though the Architect's final words still trouble me. This isn't finished, he said. Others will continue what he began."

"I know," Seria admitted, her earlier joy tempering into thoughtful, careful consideration. "But whatever comes next, we've proven something important today. That this fight, however large it eventually grows, isn't one we face alone or unprepared."

Elliot considered that, drawing quiet strength from her steady presence, from the entire, considerable community that had gathered around them throughout this exhausting, transformative year.

"No," he agreed finally. "We're not alone. Not anymore."

They sat together in comfortable, contented silence, watching the stars emerge slowly overhead, the celebration's warm sounds still drifting up from the dining hall below, a fragile but genuine peace settling over Adonite Academy for the first time in what felt like considerable time.

Whatever future challenges still awaited them, Elliot suspected they would face them exactly as they'd faced everything else—together, prepared, and surrounded by a family that had grown, against every considerable odd, from the ashes of shared struggle into something genuinely, remarkably beautiful.

Below them, in the dining hall, the celebration continued long into the night, laughter and warmth carrying through Adonite's ancient halls in a way that felt, after everything, like a genuine promise of the peace still worth fighting to protect.

Cassian and Lyra arrived the following morning, having received word of the victory through the warded communication mirror, bringing Mira along despite the journey's considerable distance, unwilling to wait a single day longer than necessary to see their son with their own eyes.

"You're really alright," Lyra said, pulling Elliot into a fierce, tearful embrace the moment she spotted him in the courtyard. "I've barely slept since we received Cassandra's initial message."

"I'm alright, Mother," Elliot confirmed, holding her close. "I promise."

Mira, no longer quite so small as she'd been during Elliot's first year, threw her arms around him with the same fierce, protective devotion she'd shown since childhood. "You actually defeated the Architect," she said, awe evident in her voice. "You're basically a legend now."

"Hardly," Elliot said, though he couldn't help the warm, grateful smile that spread across his exhausted features at his family's presence. "Just someone who got very lucky, surrounded by people considerably braver than myself."

"Don't diminish it," Cassian said, joining the reunion with quiet, proud satisfaction. "Whatever modesty you're attempting, your mother and I intend to celebrate this victory properly, regardless of your own reluctance to claim proper credit."

Seria, watching the family's warm reunion with genuine, contented happiness, found herself quickly drawn into the embrace as well, Lyra pulling her close with the same fierce affection she'd shown since their very first meeting.

"Thank you," Lyra whispered, "for keeping him safe. For fighting alongside him through all of this."

"Always," Seria said simply, and the word carried the full weight of everything that promise had come to mean across this long, transformative year.

As the family's reunion continued amid the academy's still-lingering celebration, Elliot found himself surrounded by everyone who mattered most—family, both given and chosen, gathered together in hard-won, grateful peace after a war that had tested every one of them beyond what any of them had believed themselves capable of enduring.

Whatever trials still lay ahead, he suspected he would face them exactly as he'd faced this one, surrounded by people who refused to let him carry any of it alone, in a family built not from blood alone, but from choice, sacrifice, and unwavering, hard-won loyalty.
