Chapter 195: Something Is Behind This!!
[Next Day.]
Asher opened his eyes, staring up at the grand ceiling for a quiet moment, then slowly turned to his side.
Yesterday, he had handed everything over to Kelly, listening to her tactical master plan in detail; not only that, he had provided each of his three wives with their own unlimited black cards, custom luxury vehicles, and phones.
He sat up on the edge of the mattress, turning his gaze toward the expansive balcony window:
"Kelly should be getting ready to head out into the city right about now..." He shifted his eyes toward the marble wall clock:
"It’s already eight in the morning... Seems I actually slept in for once." He stepped down from the bed, stretching his broad shoulders as he walked toward the bathroom.
"Anyway, I should definitely keep a close eye on those three today... The city is in a total mess right now, so letting them move around without direct surveillance isn’t wise."
___
[Half An Hour Later.]
[Downstairs Sitting Room.]
"My Lord, the three madams have already left the estate." Butler Tang reported respectfully the moment Asher stepped out from the private elevator.
"And Viper?"
"She is with them."
Asher nodded calmly, stepping over and sitting down on the leather couch:
"Any news from Grayson yet? Has he successfully established contact with the other underground kings?" He asked, resting his elbow on the armrest.
"We still haven’t received any concrete report from his end, but with the entire city plunging into chaos, movement will be even more difficult," Tang explained efficiently.
Asher nodded his head in understanding:
"Alright, I am leaving you in complete charge of the estate grounds. I will go and keep an eye on my wives myself." He said smoothly. Without even making a physical motion, his figure instantly vanished into thin air from the couch.
"Yes, my Lord," Tang bowed to the empty space.
___
[Holy Sword Guild Headquarters.]
[Tactical Command Center.]
"This is bad, Guild Leader!!" A analyst screamed, slamming his hands onto the main desk.
"What now?!!" Marianne yelled back, her eyes bloodshot with exhaustion.
They had been on active watch for twenty-four hours straight, keeping constant radar watch on the incoming monster tide, and there hadn’t been any major directional shifts until this exact second—so what on earth could have happened now?!
"Guild Leader... These... These monsters are actively utilizing a pincer formation!!"
"What?!!"
Not only Marianne, but every single officer in the command room was struck completely speechless; they all stared in absolute terror at the tactical radar screen as the massive red horde divided into four equal, synchronized columns, fanning out in wide arcs.
"They are planning to encircle the entire city, attacking simultaneously from all four outer gates!! They aren’t just targeting the Southern Gate anymore!" The tactical member explained frantically, pointing at the glowing red dots which separated while maintaining an aggressive forward velocity.
"You must be kidding me!! Since when do wild dungeon monsters possess the tactical intelligence to organize an offensive in a military formation?!!" Marianne demanded, utterly dumbfounded.
RING! RING!
She quickly pulled out her encrypted satellite phone and slammed the receiver to her ear:
"Guild Leader Tyson... Yes, I am looking at the tactical radar right now," she spoke rapidly, listening to his dark words from the other end, before roaring back into the microphone:
"What utter nonsense are you spouting?!! We absolutely cannot abandon the city!! I say we immediately split our high-tier combat forces, spreading them evenly across all four main gates!!"
The entire command room fell into dead silence, every staff member holding their breath as they stared at her furious expression. After a few agonizing seconds of heavy silence over the line, she gritted her teeth and gave a tense nod:
"Yes, I know... There is undeniably a higher entity controlling these monsters from the shadows, and this thing is a lot stronger than a standard SSS-Rank to be capable of telepathically commanding over a hundred SSS-RANK beasts at once." 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ
Her guild members waited nervously until she disconnected the call, placing the phone heavily onto the table with a deep, menacing frown:
"Send immediate deployment directives to all our assault corps—each of the top guilds will take full responsibility for guarding a specific gate! We will also receive frontline combat assistance from secondary Guilds who will back us up... Do you all understand?!!"
"Understood, Guild Leader!!"
___
[Gods Guild Headquarters.]
[Tyson’s Private Executive Office.]
"That absolute bitch!" Tyson roared, smashing his high-grade satellite phone viciously against the reinforced stone wall, watching it shatter into pieces as he sprang to his feet.
"Does she truly believe I don’t want to protect this city?!" He yelled in rage, striding over to the massive glass window and staring down at the bustling, frantic compound of his guild’s headquarters below.
"These monsters are acting entirely unnatural... and it’s terrifying." He turned his dark gaze around toward the pitch-black corner of his grand office:
"What about the Ancient Family? We desperately need their direct intervention! I am beyond certain that something far above the SSS-RANK threshold is orchestrating this nightmare behind the scene."
"You do not possess the authority to issue demands to the Ancient Family," a cold, detached male voice echoed phantom-like throughout the high-ceilinged office.
"I wouldn’t dare demand anything... but we genuinely require their tactical strength!" Tyson spat, his fists clenching.
"You, the municipal leaders, and even I myself do not hold the standing to order the Ancient Family to move. They will act whenever and wherever they deem fit. They will not allow the country’s capital to fall into ruin." The shadowy voice stated smoothly, before vanishing completely into the air, leaving no trace behind.
BAM!!
Tyson punched his bare fist violently into the marble wall beside the window, leaving a deep crater: ’These arrogant bastards!! They would rather sit comfortably back in their estates and watch us slaughter ourselves on the frontlines!! This is the absolute primary reason I want to leave this city behind for good!’ He thought with gritted teeth.
