Chapter 125: Ten Great Demons From The Underworld

  • Next Chapter

"Everyone! This is our new Leader," Grayson said, stepping forward and gesturing respectfully toward Asher.

Silence...

The whole ten stared at him, their faces completely expressionless. None said a single word, just staring intently at one another in a cold, calculating assessment.

Marianne looked at them, confused. She didn’t understand why they were suddenly locked in a tense staring contest, but after a whole minute of suffocating pressure, the scarred lady finally spoke, still casually leaning against her blacked-out Jeep.

"Alright... With the way you introduced us, you didn’t explain everything to him, right?" She said, a small frown forming on her sharp face.

"Watch your tone! Natalie!" Grayson snapped at her instantly, pointing a stern finger directly at her nose.

"Oh? You seem to be forgetting something."

Everyone only saw a blurred flash, and before anyone could even react, Natalie appeared directly before Asher, standing barely a foot away from him.

"We ten are known as the Ten Great Demons from the underworld... We are the main reason Grayson could keep his position as the King," she said, her voice dropping to a low purr. She turned her head slightly to the stunned Grayson.

"He might be the King, but we ten are a lot stronger than him... We placed him in this position because we owe him a favor, but taking a new Ruler? TSK, that won’t be possible," she said, turning her sharp gaze back to Asher.

SILENCE stood for a whole ten seconds, heavy and threatening, before Asher finally opened his mouth:

"What do you want to accomplish in your life?" He asked calmly.

"....?!"

Natalie and the nine other underworld figures raised an eyebrow at his strangely detached words.

"What do you mean by that?" She asked, narrowing her eyes.

Asher tilted his head slightly to the side, staring straight into her eyes with an unyielding glare. "You joined the Underworld for a reason, or you grew up there because of some harsh life circumstances... From your very first kill, you must have set your mind on a particular goal. I want to know this goal."

"And what will you do if I tell you?" She asked, a sharp, mocking smirk forming on her lips.

The guy standing before her was young enough to be her younger brother, yet here he was, standing in front of ten elite SSS-Rank killers, acting completely unfazed. In all her brutal life in the dark sectors, no one had ever been this calm in her presence.

"I will fulfill it."

"...?!"

Natalie was temporarily stunned by his absolute confidence. The next moment, she burst out laughing, clutching her lower abdomen:

"You will fulfill it! Hahahaha!! You are so arrogant, and stupid!" She laughed hysterically, the sound echoing across the estate’s paved driveway.

’What is the Boss saying? I get that he is monstrously strong, but saying he could just fulfill her ultimate wish like that... That’s crazy,’ Grayson thought in complete confusion, sweating profusely.

"Alright, alright," Natalie wheezed, wiping a tear from her eye as she stopped laughing and looked back up at Asher.

"I have two goals in life. One is to have one hundred trillion dollars in my account, and the second is to kill the greatest Boss—a Primordial stage Boss."

"One hundred trillion?!! Kill a Primordial stage Boss?! Are you mad?!! Those things are completely impossible to achieve with our current strength!" Grayson yelled at her, his face pale.

"What? Are you taking your words back now?" Natalie asked, staring at Asher with a triumphant smirk.

"You are wrong about something... Your true goal in life doesn’t have anything to do with money," Asher said flatly, pulling his sleek smartphone out from his jacket pocket.

"If your goal was purely money, you wouldn’t have given the King position to Grayson in the first place."

He turned his gaze toward Grayson. "Her account number."

".....?!"

Grayson was stunned, but he quickly snapped to action, bringing out his own phone and reading Natalie’s encrypted underworld account details aloud to him.

"As for the Primordial Boss, that could indeed be your wish, but you aren’t strong enough to achieve that yet. Your current strength isn’t even enough to solo a Special Boss." Asher said coldly, his words hitting like a physical blow and stunning Natalie in place.

[DING!]

[Payment Received.]

Natalie involuntarily took out her phone as it vibrated violently in her hand. She stared at the screen in utter shock, her mind blanking as she read the long string of zeroes that had just hit her balance—the exact one hundred trillion dollars she had mockingly demanded.

"You... You actually sent the money?" She muttered in sheer disbelief, her hands trembling slightly.

"What?!" The dark-skinned muscular man jumped down from the hood of his car and rushed over to her side, leaning over her shoulder to stare at the screen.

"My goodness!! This guy is literally swimming in money! Throwing around one hundred trillion without even batting an eye!" He exclaimed, his jaw practically hitting the pavement.

"That is your money, even though we both know it’s not your true wish... Do you plan to tell me now?" Asher asked, his eyes locking onto hers with terrifying weight.

"As for your Primordial Boss wish: get your purity to 100%, then I will personally help you accomplish it."

Natalie went dead silent, staring at the incomprehensible sum on her screen, then slowly looked back up at Asher. Such a astronomical fortune wasn’t something anyone—no matter how powerful—could just throw away on a whim. She tightly clenched her phone, staring straight at him with a completely altered demeanor.

"Who are you again?" She asked, her tone entirely stripped of its previous mockery.

"I am Asher Aetheldawn, Patriarch of the fifth Ancient family."

"An Ancient family...?"

The whole ten underworld elites were completely dumbfounded, instantly snapping their heads around to glare at Grayson, who froze under their collective gaze.

"You guys didn’t let me explain anything! You simply heard his name and demanded I bring you over immediately!" Grayson quickly yelled back defensively, raising his hands.

"An Ancient family... That changes a lot of things," Natalie whispered. She turned back to Asher, a small, genuine smile finally appearing on her scarred face.

"You are correct. My real second wish is to help every poor, homeless kid out there... At least, they should have a safe roof over their heads and good food in their stomachs. That’s my real and last wish." She revealed quietly, her words stunning everyone present. Even Grayson and the other nine demons stood there, completely speechless.

How could such a fierce, blood-soaked woman from the deepest shadows of the underworld harbor such a kindhearted dream?
