Investing in My Wife: But She's Already the Strongest!
Chapter 90: Without a Doubt
"Why wouldn’t I be able to? There aren’t many things that are difficult for me," Miya replied with a chuckle.
"So this isn’t difficult..." Enzo nodded, unsure whether to laugh or cry.
"Why did your fourth brother go through so much trouble planning how to get me close to that woman?"
"He keeps forgetting how powerful I am and what I can do with my strength," Miya replied. "He thinks I have to use the same methods he does, when my power can make things that seem incredibly complicated to him much easier. Getting someone on Aaron’s side to betray him is far too easy for me. I can offer them more promises or threaten them with something far more terrifying. If I resort to threats, do you think anyone would dare refuse me, as long as they’re not crazy and have no other way to survive?"
"I’d be scared too if you threatened me," Enzo replied with a wry smile.
But that answer earned him a pinch on the cheek.
Even though there was more than a meter between them, Miya could still reach his face without changing her position.
Enzo felt embarrassed.
His actions had drawn several strange looks from the people around them.
In most people’s eyes, they probably looked about the same age, so his reaction only made it clearer who held the dominant position in their relationship.
Enzo pretended to resume eating while reflecting on Miya’s words.
The situation was entirely under Miya’s control. Everything now depended on her.
He had to reach Level 8.
That way, simply knowing the identities of those Giant Zombies would be enough to get them killed.
Even if they couldn’t eliminate all of them, it wouldn’t matter. Oliver would be powerless if only a few Giant Zombies remained.
The point was that the threat would diminish. If only two or three remained, Miya might even be able to prevent them from exploding.
"In that case, let’s arrange for me to become a Silver Warrior first," Enzo said, impatient to obtain Bio Silver and give it to Miya.
"All right..." Miya nodded.
"But there’s no need for us to go anywhere. I’ll call Nora here. I’m a little too lazy to return to Area 51," she said.
"Sure..." Enzo didn’t mind where they did it.
Miya then typed out a message. Perhaps she sent it directly to the CIA Director, who would undoubtedly do everything possible to get Nora there as quickly as possible.
"Keep eating," Miya said again.
"But seriously, I don’t want to keep taking advantage of you. You can keep the Bio Silver and use it yourself once you’re able to, or exchange it for something of equal value."
"You’re saying this again..." Enzo replied with a slight pout that he couldn’t suppress. It wasn’t because he was being childish, but because the reward he was looking forward to was far too important to him.
"Of course, I’ll give you Bio Gold later too," he added.
Miya could only give him a puzzled look when she heard all that.
"Honey, what exactly are you hiding? I know you’re keeping something from me, and that’s what’s changed your fate so drastically. At first, I didn’t want to ask you directly. I wanted to wait until everything came to light on its own, but now I’m really curious."
Enzo could only resist the urge to slap his forehead when he heard that.
Still, this was exactly what he’d expected. There was no way Miya wouldn’t suspect that something difficult to explain was behind his dramatic progress.
She simply hadn’t wanted to ask.
Of course, Enzo didn’t slap his forehead, even though his emotions urged him to. Instead, he smiled mysteriously.
"Try to guess," he said.
"Oh..." Miya froze when she heard that.
"How dare you ask me to guess?" she said, her eyes narrowing.
Naturally, she was only teasing. It was impossible for her to get angry at her beloved husband, who had just spent their first night together, over something like that.
Although she spoke playfully, Enzo chose not to answer and simply kept smiling.
"Fine. Something that’s supposed to be a secret is probably better left unspoken," Miya said after remaining silent for a while.
"You’re not going to refuse again, are you, honey?" Enzo asked, making sure to add the affectionate nickname.
But once again, the woman pinched his cheek.
"All right... Although I don’t really need it, I do want to exchange it for something. However, let me tell you this first: Bio Gold can be used to create a clone. You have two minds now, but what if you had two bodies as well? That’s what a clone is. Are you sure you can afford to give away something so valuable? Even I could become greedy over something like this. Of course, I wouldn’t rob my own husband, no matter how valuable it was."
"A clone..." Despite his immense surprise, Enzo instead broke into a broad smile, his eyes sparkling.
"Even if it could create a thousand clones, I’d still give it to you," he said.
The better it was, and the more useful it proved to Miya, the more extraordinary the reward the System would grant him.
Miya was surprised by his response. Neither his words nor his gaze showed the slightest hesitation.
She had thought that a marital relationship alone couldn’t completely erase someone’s selfish side, even if the love between the couple was as vast as heaven and earth.
When faced with something priceless, such as a clone that could effectively multiply one’s strength and provide a second life, how could anyone hesitate so little before giving it up for the person they loved?
Enzo had even boldly claimed that he wouldn’t care if there were a thousand clones.
The thing was, he seemed utterly confident in that claim.
Miya couldn’t think of anything else to say in response and seemed to sink into her own thoughts.
"Mm, Nora is already on her way. The CIA has asked us to wait at the City Hospital," she said after a while.
"Should we go to the hospital now?" Enzo asked.
He had finished eating and regained his energy, so he was ready to go anywhere.
Although waiting at a hospital left him a little confused, perhaps becoming a Silver Warrior was more complicated than becoming a Copper Warrior.
"Yes, let’s go." Miya nodded before standing up.
Enzo stood up as well.
As soon as they got to their feet, the receptionist who had served them immediately approached.
"Is there anything else you need?" she asked gently.
She had clearly guessed that they wanted to leave, but it seemed she was hoping for something.
"Haven’t you told your manager what my husband said?" Miya asked.
"Mm, yes. I was afraid they might think I was lying," the receptionist replied, sounding both embarrassed and apprehensive.
She was also worried that the higher-ups wouldn’t take her seriously because it had only been Enzo who made the promise.
Indeed, the idea had come from Enzo himself. Naturally, Miya supported all his ideas.
"Hmph, if you’re afraid, then perhaps this isn’t the right place for you," Miya said with a soft snort.
After that, she walked away, pulling Enzo along by the hand.
Enzo could only smile awkwardly at her behavior.
Even when dealing with ordinary people of ordinary standing, Miya never refused to communicate with them.
She had only been a little harsh because the receptionist herself had made a mistake.
As before, they hailed another taxi from the roadside.
City X Hospital was a hospital owned by the state government.
It was one of the largest hospitals in all of America, occupying an enormous area with ambulances constantly arriving.
The hospital consisted of fifteen large buildings, each no smaller than the Star Hotel.
The taxi driver took them straight to the building standing in the middle of the entire complex.
This had to be the VVIP building, judging by the luxury cars surrounding it and the elite guests visiting.
Enzo even spotted several Cultivators among the doctors in the building.
They radiated a certain aura brimming with vitality.
Miya immediately led the way toward the building’s entrance, which was guarded by seven security personnel who thoroughly inspected every visitor who arrived.
Their gazes were sharp, and they showed no difference in their attitude even toward Miya.
However, a moment later, a large, burly male doctor came running toward them, accidentally knocking several security guards to the ground.
Enzo realized that this doctor was also a Cultivator, probably Level 6 or 7.
What caught his attention, however, was the title written on the doctor’s chest.
Director.
Was he the director of this hospital?
Even so, the man was visibly sweating as he looked at Miya. His breathing was also ragged.
"Lady Stanley..." he greeted her respectfully, trying to suppress the naturally rough tone of his voice.
Of course, he wasn’t alone. Many other doctors were following behind him. They had simply been a little slower to arrive.
"What is this all about? There’s no patient here," Miya remarked when she saw them.
