Investing in My Wife: But She's Already the Strongest!
Chapter 34: Just Will
"Run, run quickly! He’s crazy!"
People abandoned their cars in panic and fled in every direction.
"Hahahaha, where do you think you’re running!" The middle-aged man’s expression was extremely savage.
His eyes were red like flames.
He looked at the largest crowd and sent his fist toward them.
BANG!
Even the most ordinary Level 5 punch was filled with tremendous power.
A wave of energy exploded from his fist, becoming a shockwave that violently shook the air.
The shockwave alone produced a sound more terrifying than a jet engine, enough to make an ordinary person’s heart ache.
In fact, the shockwave was clearly visible as it raced toward the crowd.
Being struck by a massive piece of steel falling from above might have been better than taking that punch head-on.
"Stop this!"
A woman shouted before a gigantic hand made of energy appeared and grabbed the shockwave, destroying it as if it were nothing more than a splash of water.
"This..." Enzo and Eva were stunned.
A cold-looking woman in her thirties with black hair tied into a ponytail appeared on the roof of a restaurant.
Andrea Allen, their class instructor.
The middle-aged man appeared frightened when he saw her.
Before he could escape, Andrea had already appeared in front of him.
She was too fast.
In the blink of an eye, her hand had already grabbed the middle-aged man’s neck.
"Re-release me!" The middle-aged man tried to speak but struggled.
However, only a moment later, his lips suddenly curled into a grin.
"You?" Andrea was startled.
At that moment, the middle-aged man’s body suddenly swelled like a balloon.
Andrea immediately leaped backward because this was self-detonation, an act of exploding all the energy within one’s body.
It was a restricted secret technique.
Sacrificing oneself was the core of the technique, but what made it frightening was its explosive power. It essentially detonated all of a person’s Spiritual Energy, body, and soul, resulting in an explosion far beyond their own level.
Although the middle-aged man was only Level 5, detonating all his energy could still threaten a Level 9 Spiritual Warrior like Andrea.
At the very least, she would suffer severe injuries.
Of course, for the ordinary people around them, this was an extremely serious threat.
It seemed these strange people had gained an additional ability compared to the previous two cases, because those people hadn’t been able to self-detonate after being captured.
Enzo stared sharply at the middle-aged man.
Even he could already feel the threat of the impending explosion.
However, the threat also activated his fighting instincts.
He realized something: his soul could detect the souls of others whose cultivation levels were not as high as his own.
The middle-aged man essentially only possessed a Weak Human Soul.
In front of the combination of a Supreme Human Soul and Supreme Human Body, a mere will was enough to destroy his soul.
After all, with only a Weak Human Soul, Enzo’s will could destroy it even if it was three levels above him.
The desire to destroy the middle-aged man’s soul filled Enzo’s mind because he didn’t want the self-detonation to succeed.
And the result appeared in an instant.
The middle-aged man’s eyes became empty, losing all their light before closing tightly.
BANG!
He fell, and his body returned to its original form as his Spiritual Energy dispersed normally with his death.
But it only lasted for a moment.
His body cracked, and within a short time, it shattered into pieces.
"Ehh..." Andrea was still in midair.
She was shocked because she could clearly see that the middle-aged man had died before the self-detonation could occur.
She simply wasn’t sure how he had died so suddenly.
Was it some kind of failed side effect?
And Enzo wore a strange expression because his own ability had exceeded his expectations.
Fighting someone three levels above him was impossible.
Yet with nothing but his will, he could cause an enemy three levels above him to die.
Perhaps this wouldn’t work against a genuine Level 5 Spiritual Warrior because they would definitely possess at least a Normal Human Soul.
However, the System had said that if they possessed a Normal Human Soul, as long as they were only two levels above him, he could still kill them with nothing but his will.
Not long afterward, the police arrived, naturally only adding to the traffic congestion on the road.
"Let’s just take a taxi," Enzo said.
He got out of the car and entered an alley to cross over to another road.
Although that road was also congested, as long as he kept walking and passed through the intersection, he could reach a less crowded road.
Eva simply followed him.
She had already contacted Mr. Joe to inform him that they had left their car behind. Later, a guard would come to retrieve it and drive it to the university.
Enzo stopped beside the sidewalk to wait for a passing taxi.
However, instead of a taxi, a luxurious white sports car suddenly stopped in front of him and Eva.
The latter was quite surprised as well.
Whoosh!
The passenger-side window of the sports car rolled down, revealing the woman with straight, bright blonde hair sitting in the driver’s seat.
She was wearing a light blue blouse and long jeans.
"Neighbor, need a ride?" A pleasant voice rang out.
Enzo froze with his lips slightly parted, and so did Eva.
At this point, it became clear that this woman really did have ulterior motives.
And it seemed she was becoming increasingly bold in her actions.
After all, they had never even met before. They had only seen each other from a distance, yet she acted as if they were already familiar with each other.
Enzo felt uneasy.
The moment he heard her voice, his heart suddenly began pounding.
It wasn’t because he was nervous. It was as if a strange excitement had appeared in his mind.
That only made him uncomfortable. A woman like Eva trying to seduce him had no effect on him at all, but Alice was different. With her beauty and popularity, she truly was on another level.
"No, no need... I’ll just wait for a taxi. Besides, I’m with my assistant," Enzo replied.
"My car has a back seat. There’s room for an extra passenger," the woman replied as she pushed the passenger seat forward.
Sure enough, there was additional seating in the cramped space behind it, enough room for two passengers.
"I’m worried my assistant won’t be comfortable," Enzo said.
Fortunately, a taxi appeared at that moment.
He immediately waved his hand to stop it.
Eva was the daughter of a wealthy family. She normally drove a sports car herself.
How could she possibly be willing to squeeze herself into that cramped space?
But suddenly, she said, "Master, I don’t have any problem sitting wherever you put me."
Enzo: "..."
