Chapter 196: 196 | Enough!

"Flame Demon Transformation."

"BOOM!!!"

An enormous pillar of crimson flame erupted from Dexter’s body.

The flames surged upward, punching through the ceiling of the office, up into the office above.

Then the flames collapsed inward.

They wrapped around Dexter’s body, compressing, molding themselves to his form.

His hair lifted, floating upward as though suspended in zero gravity as they literally lit up with white, gold and violet flames.

The flames compressed in Dexter’s body as it formed demonic tattoos on his skin!

The visual manifestation of a bloodline that was older and more powerful than anything the old man had ever encountered.

His eyes burned with violent flames as the entire office trembled and shook from the raw power and sheer heat that Dexter was radiating T that moment.

The old man’s expression changed as he became serious.

He hadn’t expected this trouble maker who everyone knew has been useless to possess this sort of strength.

"So you’ve been hiding your strength," he murmured.

Dexter didn’t answer but released his grip on Marcus.

The man dropped to the floor like a sack of wet sand.

"K-off!" "Koff!!"

He gasped, coughed, and tried to crawl away on his hands and knees.

Dexter didn’t look at him.

His burning gaze remained fixed on the old man.

Dexter lifted his leg up and stepped forward but as his feet landed on the ground—

"BOOM!"

The floor beneath his foot exploded. A spiderweb of fractures spread outward from the point of impact, reaching the walls in every direction.

The old man’s pupils contracted.

’That physical strength...’

Dexter smiled wider. The violet flames in his eyes flickered.

"You said something interesting earlier," Dexter voice was thick and different. It sounded as though two of him was talking at the same time and not just one.

He took another step.

"BOOM!"

"You said crippling me would be fitting."

Another step.

"BOOM!"

"You also said my wives are useless."

The demonic patterns on his skin pulsed with light, darkening and spreading as the bloodline’s influence deepened.

"You called them crippled."

The old man’s expression hardened. He raised his sword, the blade humming with gathered mana.

"Don’t think that transformation is enough to..."

"WHOOSH!"

Dexter vanished.

The air where he had been standing exploded outward in a shockwave of displaced atmosphere and superheated air.

The old man’s eyes widened.

’Fast!’

He swung his sword on pure instinct. A full-speed horizontal slash that drew a silver arc through the air with the speed of a lightning bolt.

"CLANG!!!"

Dexter’s fist collided with the edge of the blade.

As the shockwave tore through the office. What remained of the furniture was destroyed as the office cracked even more.

The old man’s arm trembled and he actually slid three meters backward as his feet carved trenches on the ground before he finally stopped.

His arm was trembled as the. The impact traveled from his sword to his entire body.

But Dexter hadn’t moved a single inche backward.

The old man’s expression changed.

’Impossible.’

’He’s not at the Ultra Realm. His cultivation is Superhuman. Tenth Stage at most. But his physical strength...’

’His physical strength is matching mine.’

’No. Exceeding mine.’

Dexter slowly raised his head. His violet eyes locked onto the old man’s dark gaze.

"One thing you said was correct."

The heat around him intensified and the temperature in the room climbed past the point where ordinary materials could survive. The carpet smoldered. The remaining furniture began to char and even the air itself seemed to ignite.

"My wives are crippled."

The old man’s lip curled. He opened his mouth to speak.

Dexter’s voice cut through the air like a blade.

"But they are still my wives."

The violet light in his eyes flared.

"And anyone who dares insult them..."

His fist slowly clenched. The flames around it compressed, densified, concentrated into a point of light so intense it was painful to look at.

"...will pay the price."

"BOOM!!!"

Dexter vanished again.

A crater appeared in the ground, surrounded by a ring of superheated debris that was already melting from the residual thermal energy.

The old man reacted on pure instinct. He raised his sword, channeled every ounce of his Ultra-Rank mana into the blade, and braced.

"BANG!!!"

Dexter’s fist smashed against the blade.

A massive shockwave exploded through the entire room.

The collision unleashed a shockwave not like a wave but a solid, visible wall of compressed air and mana. This sphere-shaped wall expanded outward, simultaneously hitting every surface in the office.

Windows shattered throughout this office and every other one on the floor. The hallway walls cracked and ceiling panels across the entire twenty-fourth floor disintegrated. Everything not bolted down – desks chairs computers filing cabinets – became projectiles.

The old man’s was blasted backwards as he slammed against the office wall!

His sword arm screamed with pain and the blade in his hand developed a visible fracture line.

He was barely able to land on his feet as he stared at Dexter with wide eyes.

Shock.

He looked at the man standing in front of him and he realized something.

The Ashford family was wrong. There was no way a useless person could climb realms to battle!

They were clearly lying to everyone again!

He had barely thoug he this when another fist flashed through the air.

He immediately tried to block it but he was too late.

"Bang!"

The fist struck the side of his mouth and he was sent flying with a black mark on his face.

He collided again with the wall, creating a dent in the wall as gravity let him down.

The old man touched his lips and saw blood on his palm.

His face changed as he looked down at his trembling sword arm.

Then he looked up at Dexter as his gaze turned cold.

"Enough," he said.

As he said this, his body exploded instantly exploded with energy as he activated his own talent.

His body began to change as he also transformed.

The custom-fitted suit that had cost more than most people’s monthly rent ripped like tissue paper as his body expanded.

The white dress shirt beneath it followed. Then the undershirt. Then the skin itself seemed to shift, stretching, thickening, densifying.
