Chapter 179: 179 | Joy And Harmony Acupuncture Technique

The last reward was the Pure-Air Fragrance.

Dexter accepted the reward and watched as a small object materialized on his palm.

It was a delicate ceramic lotus flower, no larger than a teacup, painted in soft shades of white and pale blue.

The petals were slightly open, revealing a tiny crystal set into the center that glowed faintly.

The moment it touched his skin, he felt a gentle, almost imperceptible wave of clean, fresh air radiated outward from the lotus as it released a subtle, clean freshness that reminded him of mountain air after a spring rain.

’This is actually really nice.’

He walked out of his room, holding the lotus and placed it behind the curtain.

The effect was immediate and noticeable.

The air in the bungalow, which had been carrying the lingering smells of cooking oil, paint and plaster dust, began to clear but by bit, like opening a window in a stuffy room.

Dexter stood in the hallway and breathed in.

He thought about his wives that loved their spots. it should help with the circulation of their breathing.

Dexter smiled as he returned happily to his room.

On his bed, he surfed through the internet dir random stuffs, reading various articles, dungeon outbreaks and even invitations to join a squad to enter a Dimensional Gate together.

His thumb paused on the billboard photo he had taken earlier that afternoon.

Dexter stared at the number for a moment then held the number and clicked the press call option.

The line rang three times before someone picked up.

"Harvest Homes, this is Jennifer speaking. How may I help you?"

"Good evening," Dexter said. "I saw your billboard advertisement on the main highway. I’m interested in learning about your available properties."

"Of course, sir. We have a wide range of options available. Residential homes, townhouses, estate properties, and undeveloped land parcels in various districts throughout Stargate City. I can email you our current catalog with pricing details and specifications, or..."

She paused.

"It would actually be preferable for you to visit our office in person. We can discuss your needs face to face, review floor plans, and I can walk you through the financing options available for others and also licensed heroes."

Dexter considered it as it would take him away from the girls.

But this was important and was about their future.

"Can I come tomorrow morning?" he asked. "Around ten?"

"Ten o’clock works perfectly. May I have your name?"

"Dexter Ashford."

The line paused for a bit as a something clicked in Jennifer’s mind.

"Thank you, Mr. Ashford. I’ll have everything prepared for your visit. Do you need directions?"

"I’ll find it."

"Excellent. We’ll see you tomorrow at ten."

The call ended.

Dexter set the phone down and immediately thought of something else.

Plasmatic Man had called yesterday about meeting with a potential squad. Dexter had told him he would text back with his availability. He had forgotten about it until now.

He picked up the phone, saved Cole’s number, and typed a quick message.

[Available tomorrow at 12 PM. Let me know if that works for you.]

He didn’t wait for a response. He placed the phone face-down on the nightstand, closed his eyes, and began cultivating.

Tomorrow’s schedule was going to be busy.

He needed to make 50 portions of meals, also, ten o’clock at Harvest Homes, twelve o’clock with Cole and the others.

---

He had been cultivating for roughly an hour when he heard a familiar heartbeat.

His bedroom door opened slowly and the air in the room shifted as the temperature dropped by several degrees in seconds.

Dexter smiled.

She’s early.’

Last night, Selene had come to his room around late midnight, but tonight, it was barely 11 and she was here.

He had half expected her to come even later tonight, embarrassed by the fact that she had fallen asleep on his shoulder that morning.

Instead, she had come earlier.

She’s getting comfortable.’

Dexter kept his eyes closed and didn’t acknowledge her presence as he simply continued cultivating, giving her the space to settle in on her own terms.

Selene’s footsteps were soft as she walked to the bed but then, stopped.

Dexter opened his eye and smiled at her, gesturing with his arms pointing to the bed.

Then he closed his eye and erupted with his heavenly flames as he resumed cultivating.

Selene couldn’t see but with her talent, she ’saw’ his gesture and knew he trying his best not to make things uncomfortable.

She slowly sat down on the edge of the bed, raised her white, pale legs, crossed them beneath her, and settled into her meditation posture.

Themn she closed her eyes and then her cultivation began.

Mana flowed into the room from the surrounding air, drawn by the combined gravitational pull of their respective Star Nodes. The energy pooled around them like water filling a basin, warm and golden from Dexter’s side, cool and silver from Selene’s.

Thirty minutes passed.

Dexter suddenly opened his eyes and shifted his position.

He moved across the bed toward Selene as though he was simply adjusting his posture for comfort.

He only stopped when his knees were almost touching hers, their crossed legs forming a small diamond of space between them.

Selene didn’t need to open where eyes to see and her ears turned slightly pink as she felt the heat from his knees flowed directly to her lower body.

Dexter increased the heat radiating from his body, just enough so it won’t ignite the surrounding space.

They cultivated in silence.

Another thirty minutes passed and Dexter shifted again.

This time, he moved directly beside her.

Their shoulders touched and the sides of their knees pressed together.

With this position, the heat from his body flowed directly into hers through the points of contact.

Her shoulder, her arm and her knee. The warmth seeped through her thin sleeping clothes and into her skin, spreading through her damaged meridians and pushing back the Internal Winter Ice that lived beneath the surface.

Selene’s ears went from pink to red.

But she didn’t pull away.

Instead, she let out a slow, quiet breath. The kind of exhale that comes from a body finally letting go of tension it has been holding for so long that it forgot what relaxation felt like.

"Thank you," she murmured.

The words were barely audible but Dexter heard it.

Dexter didn’t respond and simply continued cultivating as he warmed her body.

They cultivated through the night.
